  1. This has just been added to the patch notes. Edit: Some added context: A bunch of backend work has been done over the past few months as part of Page 6 and the upcoming launcher. As it's been happening over many, many months, we missed a bit when it came to putting the patch notes together.
  2. AoE stealth ruins costumes 👎
  3. Posts have been hidden. Please refrain from calling specific players out publicly. That's what reports are for.
  4. I'm going to quote myself here: And also the Code of Conduct:
  5. Hello! Before we dive into the topics for today, a quick update on some upcoming developments: Homecoming Launcher: We're just in the process of acquiring a signing certificate which we want to have in place before we open up for public testing. This is currently in the hands of our lawyers, but we're hoping to get it all sorted soon. Page 6: Still needs a little bit more time. It's turning out to be very big, and we're wanting to get as many of the features ready to go at once in order to maximize our testing potential. And in case you missed it, @Cipher posted a deep dive into our infrastructure and finances here earlier in the week. 🎃 Halloween Event - Starting October 6th! 🎃 It's that time of year again - Halloween is almost here! The event will be switched on during maintenance on Tuesday, October 6th and will last four weeks, ending during maintenance on Tuesday, November 3rd. Here's what you can expect: Trick or Treating has been enabled in all city zones (note: you need to be in a zone that matches your level in order to trick-or-treat), along with the Whispered Rumor tip mission. Dr. Kane’s House of Horror is available in the Holiday tab of the LFG window. Both the Zombie Apocalypse and the Deadly Apocalypse are upon us! The Halloween vendors (Malkiel Ivesse in Atlas Park, Annah in Croatoa, Granny Beldam in Nerva Archipelago, Acantha in Imperial City) have stocked up with goodies to trade for your salvage. Atlas Park has received a seasonal makeover. Based on your feedback from last year, Eternal Night will work slightly differently this time around and will only be active for the first and last weeks of the event (October 6th - October 13th, October 27th - November 3rd). The normal day/night cycle will be restored for the interim period. Player Events: Request a GM We've frequently seen players ask if GMs can come and help out with their events, so there's now a way to do just that! Head over to the Request a GM form to see the details and submit a request. Please note that there are a few caveats: We cannot guarantee a GM will be available at the time you are holding your event GMs will not do anything that will create an unfair advantage (such as spawning enemies to kill), we're just there to help the events run (which can include things such as changing the time of day, using special character models, or moving players around) New Dev Choice Arcs in Architect Entertainment We’ve recently highlighted two more Dev Choice arcs in Architect Entertainment: Help out Turndown Girl! (Arc ID 25717) by @thunderforce: “Azuria has become aware of the plight of Turndown Girl, endlessly rejecting Desperate Guy. Help her resolve the situation...while occasionally breaking the fourth wall and punching Fifth Column.” The Paper Mirror (Arc ID 28570) by @12twelveletter: "You're always picking up clues and souvenirs that remind you of past adventures. One such souvenir, a book, details an adventure, before you've even had it!“ cb15868c5f25e5947139dc0373369ef8.mp4 35ccdd22d80fcc48d22a062d5ed0c0fc.mp4 Check out GM Arcanum's post for the full details, as well as information about submitting your own arcs for consideration. October Contests There's several other contests and events going on over the next month: October 9th: 3v3 Tournament, Pocket D, Indomitable, 9pm EDT (sign up required, see thread for details) October 10th: Food & Drink Costume Contest, Kallisti Wharf, all 5 shards, 9pm UTC October 24th: Traditional Halloween Costume Contest, Kallisti Wharf, all 5 shards, 9pm UTC All month: Homecoming Base Contest, submission deadline is October 31st There's plenty of prizes to be won from all of the above! And don't forget to vote on your favourite costume from the winners of the 5 Origin costume contests.
  6. Halloween The Halloween event is active! Eternal night will now only be active later on in October, rather than for the whole event Dr Kane's House of Horror Removed two options (Bats Aura and the Costume Change Emote) from the reward table for Dr. Kane's House of Horror as these items are unlocked automatically on character creation Bug Fixes Trainers should no longer talk about certain free / prestige powers gaining enhancement slots when you level up Technical Stuff Most of this will be irrelevant for the average user, but we're including it here for transparency. Intel Graphics Compatibility Resolved a compatibility issue with Intel graphics chips on Windows 10 - the game no longer requires an external workaround involving dark rituals to function If you're currently using the Intel OpenGL shim fix, you don't need to anymore If you're currently using the Intel OpenGL shim fix and the game no longer functions for you, please post a dxdiag log If you don't know what this is, you probably don't need to worry Visited Maps Some changes have been made to the way information on visited maps is stored Now stored in a per-account subdirectory of the installation folder rather than in /appdata/ Now stored in a single file per character, rather than per map per character Legacy map data from /appdata/ will be automatically imported Reduced the performance impact of saving this data Command Line Parameter Changes The way the game interprets command line parameters has changed in order to accomodate for the upcoming launch of the new launcher - generally this is only relevant for those that launch the game with their own shell scripts or special shortcuts The command line arguments -patchdir and -patchversion no longer exist For use with existing installs, you should always include the -legacylayout command line argument, or the client won't be able to find certain files This only applies if you aren't launching the game with Tequila or Island Rum The new command line argument -assetpath will point the client to the piggs folders, in load order The default is -assetpath piggs -assetpath homecoming for live, and -assetpath piggs -assetpath hc-beta for beta Files in the data folder (eg: a standard vidiotmaps install) will still be applied as before
  7. I've hidden a bunch of posts. Apologies if any legitimate points got caught up in the squabble. @GM Widower is now here to babysit. Please behave.
  8. We explicitly don't deal with anything that's not in-game or on our official Discord / forum. We do sometimes get reports of issues from 3rd party Discord servers, but these are not only outside of our purview, we also have no way of verifying anything. These reports are, obviously, not actioned.
  9. Concerning behaviour needs to be reported with dates, times, and names - or we simply won't know it's happening. Again, we don't comment on specific cases, but we absolutely do investigate and take the necessary actions when things are actually reported. I know this because I can actually see the tickets coming in and the investigations / actions that follow. Additionally, you should also never feel bad about reporting something multiple times if it continues or is repeated at a later date. The more information you can give us, the better. This isn't necessarily a dig at you not reporting (I won't publicly comment on if you have or haven't), just in general it's not at all helpful to claim on the forums or on Discord that stuff happened at some point. This isn't an uncommon claim that's made, and it's incredibly counterproductive not only due to the lack of detail that's usually included (meaning we can't really investigate anything), but it also creates this false narrative that reports aren't investigated, which may discourage players from reporting things in the future.
  10. We've got a fairly flexible arrangement with them and they tend to not bill us for smaller bits of work, and due to the covid-related slowdown in recent months there's only been smaller bits of work. They are handling something a bit more substantial at the moment which likely will get billed - so expect to see that in the next donation round (or possibly the one after, they can be a bit slow with their billing!).
  11. @Piecemeal did actually try this, but despite his excellent efforts, the texture resolution available just isn't high enough to pull it off well. The simpler pumpkin ended up working better 🎃 The engine is set up to only take textures up to 1k by default - we've broken that restriction internally during some testing but it's probably not a good idea to do so for a live build.
  12. Right. An actual build (three, in fact). Not "datamined". Paragon's beta process was also significantly different to ours - their changes were generally quite mature by the time they were put in front of players, and not likely to just be discarded outright. Treating them like something that wasn't going to hit live is disingenuous. I'm also not saying that they weren't in need of plenty of balancing and follow-up work - hence all the changes since - but it's all based on the direction set by Paragon.
  13. A little fact checking is in order. There was a lot of mess to clean up.
  14. That was all there last year. The new change this year is small... and large at the same time...
  15. It's during the anniversary month each year. The latest badge is given out for free, and the previous badges are available to purchase.
  16. Halloween Further adjustments to Atlas Park Removed two options (Bats Aura and the Costume Change Emote) from the reward table for Dr. Kane's House of Horror as these items are unlocked automatically on character creation
  17. @DIexu1 @nom_w_nom @Mikewho @Anon4321 @Sovera @FoulVileTerror Is this still occuring? If so, can you confirm you're using the up-to-date manifest listed here? (https://manifest.cohhc.gg/testing.xml)
  18. This is what happens when @Bionic_Flea and @Lines visit the same thread.
  19. True, but there's no good way of saving those bases in-game.
  20. We do as well, but we're not getting rid of until there's a viable alternative to sharing base access easily, and unfortunately that's not super simple to achieve.
  21. I can't unsee the nipple piercings being the eyes on a very strange shaped head. It looks like a Pokemon.
