  1. The click powers on the others were to allow two nearly identical base powers (Fly / Mystic Flight) to be different and still have the same basic travel capability. Infiltration and Teleport are unique in that regard, so no additional bonus is required.
  2. You're completely right. I went back a few more pages and there's definitely some posts which shouldn't have been hidden. It just gets a bit tough to sift through everything when there's constant back-and-forth, so some mistakes have been made with the moderation when people are in a hurry. Rest assured that we do actually read those posts even if they are hidden. I'll try to make sure there's less collateral going forwards. If you could see all the hidden posts you'd disagree 🙃
  3. Please don't respond to baits. It just means we need to hide more posts. Thanks.
  4. Why are we even here if we can't tease you, Flea?
  5. A lot of personal attacks have been posted (and hidden) recently and innocent posts definitely have been caught in the crossfire. From what I can tell your last post in this thread isn't hidden (I did go through and unhide a few this morning which were mistakenly hidden, though, so you may have missed it). We aren't just hiding people disagreeing with this change - just read through the thread and you'll see that 🙂 New feedback is not beating the dead horse; we are reading and absorbing all the feedback. Back-and-forth bickering with thinly veiled insults isn't doing anything but clogging up the thread and preventing new opinions from being heard (I'm not accusing you of this - just a general observation regarding posters on both sides of the argument). That is beating a dead horse, and it's a real sink on our time to moderate it, which is why innocent posts keep getting caught up in it. However, just because we are reading the feedback, it doesn't mean we are going to be compelled by it. I agree our communication on this change could've been better - we'll work on improving that going forwards.
  6. After resolving the <2mph discrepancy mentioned earlier in the thread, this a comparison between live and beta, with no other set bonuses or buffs (outside of unslotted Swift): Live Beta Fly (0 IO) 58.63 58.97 Fly (1 IO) 58.63 73.62 Fly (0 IO) + AB/EvMa (0 IO) 70.69 70.69 Fly (1 IO) + AB/EvMa (0 IO) 72.95 83.35 Fly (0 IO) + AB/EvMa (1 IO) 70.69 75.67 Fly (1 IO) + AB/EvMa (1 IO) 79.02 87.95 It's a significant step up in any case where enhancements are used. Any case where enhancements aren't used, it breaks even. We said Fly should be great without 3 powers, we didn't say it should be great without enhancements. This also isn't factoring in the 30 second windows of going even faster with the new version of Afterburner. This is the same treatment the other travel powers have received (apart from Teleport, but that's a special case - it already relied on significant slotting and this kind of change wasn't practical there).
  7. This is correct. I actually tried brute forcing it, and it was quite awful 🙂
  8. Speed concerns aside - this shouldn't be the case. Can you test again to confirm this wasn't due to the bug causing EvMa's effects to fall off?
  9. Nothing to do with Leaping. Fly's maximum speed is unchanged. Fly's minimum speed is in fact slightly faster. The issue being identified in this thread is due to legacy slotting setup (specifically Afterburner being the power you had to slot before, not Fly). This is categorically not a nerf to Fly. A large goal with these changes was to ensure that travel flight was fast without needing 3 powers. EvMa isn't meant to be something you need to pick in order to travel fast, and the prior build encouraged exactly that setup, hence these changes. However if you think EvMa is now too slow for its primary purpose (combat mobility), that is feedback we'd like to hear. And on that note, a quick comparison: Grounded combat (Sprint with 1x 50 IO, Swift with 1x 50 IO): 38.81 mph Aerial combat (EvMa with 1x 50 IO, Swift with 1x 50 IO, Hover with nothing): 42.35mph So with minimal slotting, you're actually a tad faster than normal ground combat speeds. A final note: EvMa does appear to be suffering from some bugs which cause the effects to drop off frequently, so it likely feels a lot worse than it's meant to be.
  10. That's my bad for being lazy with copy/paste. I'll fix the notes. This will only be an issue for existing builds. The same number of slots reconfigured (ie: in Fly, not EvMa) will be as fast, if not faster. The problem is that on live, slotting Fly is mostly pointless, so many players don't actually have slots there. I can appreciate it's a bit of a pain for existing builds, but going forwards you'll need to put your slots and enhancements in Fly (not Afterburner / EvMa) if you want your travel speed to be high. If you want combat speed, you can slot EvMa.
  11. We appreciate the concern here - but to be clear this is a bug fix, not a deliberate removal of content (these were, obviously, never intended for player use). Unfortunately it's an all-or-nothing fix for this "backdoor" method of triggering animations, it wasn't possible to simply disable certain animations (the beam of light will not be coming back 🙂). However it is possible to add player-safe versions of the non-intrusive animations. Would you be able to post up a thread documenting the ones you'd like to see return? Specifically we'd like: A screenshot A /demorecord file of the animation playing (which will help us find back the source animation) For each one you'd like to see become emotes. Keep in mind that animations which aren't available for all body types will likely not be be enabled as emotes. Also: As with anything, this isn't a promise it will actually happen, but we'll see what we can do for a future update (and it definitely won't be in Page 2).
  12. Yeah the patch notes have become somewhat bloated after many iterations and changes. Once the changes are settled I think it'll definitely be worth giving them a pass for clarity before this update hits live.
  13. When fully slotted, it's getting close to not being able to see where you're teleporting to if you haven't got a high draw distance! I think Teleport is in a good spot, but if for some reason we did think it needed another buff I don't think the range would get touched any further.
  14. The Hover change was made because of the really awkward way Fly animations work. Basically, the animation Fly uses is in fact the non-specific generic flying animation that everything uses, including powers like Telekinesis. Hover applies a specific animation which has a higher priority (which is required for it to override the default), which causes the appearance of it always overriding other flight powers. There was no way for the player to get around this. Giving different animation options to all the travel powers would cause a nightmare when it came to stacking, so it probably won't be happening unfortunately. You are still able to use Ninja or Beast run along with other travel powers if you so choose.
  15. You're taking things out of context. At no point have any of us claimed that Fly was overperforming for any reason. Fly not requiring Fly enhancements to reach its maximum potential was just bad design. Enhancements (and Fly Enhancements / sets specifically) exist for a reason. Now all travel powers have the potential to be enhanced with slots and Enhancements. Nobody has been made slower, we've just raised the ceiling so you can go higher if you want. As has been explained to you countless times, Fly + EvMa on beta is faster than Fly + Afterburner on live. You are not required to use more slots to get the same speed out of Fly. No amount of mental gymnastics will change that fact. You cannot reach the absolute (maxmax) speed cap on live without two Enhancements slots in Afterburner (or a specific Alpha power). Now you can put that second slot into Fly without needing to spend two additional power picks (or leave it in EvMa, which also works fine), and you'll be at the same speed (with optional short bursts of even more speed, if you so choose). Again, no amount of mental gymnastics will change that fact. The "dead slot", as you call it, frequently has a highly valuable effect (see: the Universal Travel sets). I'm not really sure what your point is with this anyway? Most travel powers (including Fly) can be maxed out with two generic IOs. Teleport has always been a special and unique case. In absolute terms it has the highest speed potential, but also requires the most direct investment of both resources (ie: slots, set bonuses, etc) and interaction (you have to... keep clicking). Plenty of players like trade-off that Teleport provides, and it's not something we're interested in changing. We have, however, improved Teleport in almost every other way. Between the changes in Page 1 and 2, it's significantly smoother and easier to use (both with and without macros and binds), has a longer range by default, has built-in protection, and has much more attractive picks in the rest of the pool. Range bonuses are universal. Without some really specific hard-wired interactions between powers, adding a range bonus to something like Hurdle would result in every ranged power being buffed. There's a reason we increased the base range of Teleport from 300ft to 350ft 🙂
  16. It saves a file which opens up in Mids. Note that you'll need to save it (or rename it) with the correct extension for Mids to recognise it.
  17. Hello! Due to a mix-up, we're needing to wipe Brainstorm's character database before the next build. If you have any Brainstorm-only characters that you care about, please save their builds (using /build_save_file name) and costumes in order to recreate them after the wipe. This will occur at some point over the next few days, likely on the weekend.
  18. It was only mentioned in passing on Discord, hasn't been patched just yet. The cost will be 0.26/s in the next update.
  19. This is great to see, nice work @Glacier Peak! Regarding the MSR comments - Fast enough MSRs wouldn't be allowing you to activate old Afterburner for the full duration between each Pylon. You'd be much more likely to fall behind then than you are now that you can fight without dropping the toggle giving you your enhanced speed cap.
  20. The short answer is that it doesn't work that way unfortunately, but Powerhouse is looking into alternative options!
  21. I've had to hide some posts (and some replies to those posts). Please remember if you see something out of line, it's best to report it instead of reply. Your reply will get hidden if the post you quoted gets hidden, no matter how reasonable your post is.
  22. Two key points: Firstly, Fly with Afterburner was fast, yes, but it required a huge investment - 3 power picks and several enhancement slots - to truly maximize. That's way too much for a travel power, and that's why you can now achieve the same thing with one just one power pick and minimal extra slotting. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, all other travel powers require an element of interaction to reach their max potential. Super Speed obviously requires the most, and as such it has the fastest base speed. Super Jump requires a bit less, and is slightly slower. Teleportation has the potential to be incredibly fast with the right investment and use. And finally, Fly requires the least interaction. But! Now you have the option of a little interaction in order to reach its maximum potential. You can use it to bump your speed up, or you can fly at the existing top speed with zero interaction (and far less investment required). It's up to you, but it's unlikely that we'd increase the always-on speed of Fly any further.
  23. 87.9mph is the Fly speed cap with a travel power. You aren't going to get any permanent toggle which takes you above that speed while flying because it needs to be balanced against the other travel powers. I will repeat: 87.8mph is the top end for long-distance flight. This hasn't changed from live, it just requires fewer powers and slots. Afterburner is just an extra, in the same way that Translocation is. You don't have to use it if you don't like it. Your argument simply doesn't hold water because you would be happier if this new version of Afterburner was removed entirely so nobody could use it. We won't be doing that just to satisfy you. That's the end of it - if you continue clogging up the thread with posts about this same concern, they will be removed. Allow others to post their feedback without the noise.
