  1. Here I am! Same! To the OP I'd emphasize if you really want to max the juice-per-squeeze out of a DP sent, look heavily into Proc builds or be prepared for some disappointment. I went with SR to be able to 6-slot every attack I took to maximize procs. Nin does have a slight advantage, I feel, of pumping up your all defense earlier in the game, though. SR still has higher overall defense numbers, but for some reason you don't see your AoE defense toggle until 35, and that can be frustrating, since you've got all your defense toggles by level 6 on Nin. Food for thought.
  2. Question for the Devs: Since AB now works for Fly like Turbo Boost works for Jetpack in the as-of-yet-added Gadgetry* pool, if this goes live can we expect a totally reworked execution of Jetpack when it does debut? And sorry for taking this slightly off-topic, but I hope it can be forgiven since a short historical treatise on the Afterburner War of 2021 was written in the thread already. *Gadgetry Pool
  3. So I'm only up to page 18 in quoting this- forgive me if it's already been addressed and I'll wipe this post but--- Is this a very big ask? To have new FX options for several powers? I truly don't know, but it seems like it would solve some aesthetic issues if people could: - Choose between "stealth" and "invisibility" FX for the new combined Stealth power. (+anything else that's currently there that I'm missing) - Choose between "magneto flight" and "superman flight" for both Hover and Fly. Seems like it would make everyone happy to have the options, and would fix the animations issue. - Also what I quoted from Macchiato, cause there is merit here too.
  4. It's been a few years since I've gone, but I used to see this in clubs all the time. Art imitating life. But as far as people texting away while solo: I think it's a way for them to be available for RP without actively engaging in it. "Fishing for RP" is what I like to call it. It frees them up for other tasks outside of the game (or maybe enhancement flipping, etc), but still keeps them available if someone sends a tell or walks up.
  5. I think people like your cousin would get bored even faster.
  6. Or ATs! I build my Doms Hasten-free now. Not particularly hard to get to permadom with set bonuses and S/L Def Softcap is pretty easy as well. Doms are so over-packed with offensive powers, having more than ~150 global recharge just means you're probably only using a tiny fraction of your combined two sets; it's a waste.
  7. Super Strength Scrappers. Don't you dare @ me.
  8. No issues with this power. Used well, it's like an easy button for the team point. Even if you're not team point but you've communicated with them and stay on their cape, execution shouldn't be a problem. Used poorly, see Veracor and Sovera's posts. Leave the offending party to fix the mess they made for themselves, they'll learn- or clean it up and make things run faster. Honestly never had a single experience with it either as a user or on a team with a user that would make me think there is a problem. It's been said before but I actually have more issue with overzealous AoE immobs than FS.
  9. Hardly a pet peeve but something I've noticed before that always elicits a chuckle: When players at the Pocket D upstairs bar just suddenly "nope out" over the rails and jump to the floor below. Like they're walking around, looking for a conversation or maybe they just finished one, or something, and then with walk on and everything just fling themselves 5 meters to the floor below. I mean we're all supers and probably everyone could shrug off that fall, so IC I suppose there is nothing wrong with that. But something about how the player will spend 45 seconds to strut up the stairs, but the exit has to be quick and in a hurry.
  10. If this was the hero who was rescuing me, I'd run to the villain for safety. Also what's the AT/Powers? Dying to know, nearly about to explode.
  11. One of our tanks for Hami on one of Everlasting's 3 daily raids is a SS/Regen Brute. It has nothing to do with Regen, it has to do with popping that fat self-heal every 10-15 seconds since Hami doesn't floor self-healing, and the extra HP from Dull Pain. Not at all. Arguably the most famous tank on Everlasting, @Veracor, is Bio/TW. Pretty sure there isn't anything he hasn't tanked. Usually tanks Hami at least twice a day. Also, Radiation does a fine job, I'm pretty sure @Keen uses that on his Hami Tanker.
  12. Unless they're standing next to Hamidon. cue Muttley laugh
  13. While I agree with most of your post, (except implying SR is bad on scrappers; it's not) I think a better option might be to lower the recharge so that IH could be made Perma. Why better? Currently one of the benefits of IH is that it's not a leach on End, and Regen builds can have great recovery overall. Most people already build for Recharge on Regen in order to get key powers like MoG, Reconstruction, Dull Pain (kinda easy), and Revive (oops!) back off cooldown ASAP. Slashing the cooldown on IH down to about 270~ seconds should make it far more viable and keep it in line with current Regen player build priorities (no scramble to pay a new End tax). It also preserve's Regen's biggest weakness of not being great at taking huge alphas. Balance: maintained. Though, I'd even go a step further and suggest Revive finish all active cooldowns similar to Burnout. This would allow defeated Regen ATs the ability to immediately jam Revive on death, load up toggles during the short grace period, fire off IH, DP, likely Hasten, and if tanking: MoG, and get right back into the fight. This helps keep the theme of the "unkillable" regenerating hero who always comes back for more, while also giving Regen something to help bring it to parity with Willpower, which already has an improved self-rez. While it may seem a little preposterous to suggest a Burnout on a 1:30 recharge (in a best-case) that only requires you to die, melee AT's don't have any cheese powers this could be used to exploit ala Gang War. At best you go MoG > Splat-Revive > MoG > Win, and I personally feel like that's Wolverine in a nutshell.
  14. True but you can be a Big-Brain Scrapper tanking Hamidon!
  15. Then you don't understand your own argument. I'm not trying to be mean; if you have a point you're trying to make you need to fully understand the context in which you're operating. You're saying "why should I lose out if I want to do X?" with you having defined "missing out" as not choosing the optimal power sets for combat when you would also like to choose the optimal sets for convenience. But there is always going to be a "best way" to do something. Everywhere, not just in the game: my example alluding to both Zeppelins and Stealth Bombers having the capacity for areal bombardment but one obviously being better than the other. Maybe that was a bad analogy. The bottom line is, you need to make a choice somewhere. If that's taken away, then we're literally all playing the same hero, and that means none of us are super anymore.
  16. This is generally true in just about every aspect of everything, even outside of the game. Sure, I want zeppelins to be as good as stealth bombers, but they're not.
  17. I think it's amazing, and the only T9 worth taking, for all the reasons that Laxx pointed out. Also, it doesn't have a crash! You can pop it every minute-thirty and it doesn't have a crash. So personally I think it's essential if you're ever in a situation where you can be reasonably expected to soak an alpha. Repeatedly.
  18. I used Mighty Radial on my Tanker for exactly this reason. It's ludicrous. It's also very solid soft control, because of how high it launches enemies. They're locked out of attacks for a solid 3-4 seconds as they recover. Useful for helping to keep lowbies alive on 54/8s. Also, the knock-up effect on lower level enemies is hilarious. They go orbital.
  19. That sounds very rational, I personally agree with you. The flipside to that equation is that if someone jumps to that extreme in reacting to something that they don't like, it's possible they're doing you a favor in precluding future interaction with them.
  20. I've personally never took to Katanas due to the animations (I think I'm in the minority) and my only attempt was on a tanker, so this feels like moving the couch and finding a $20 bill. Honestly if building for high global recharge to maximize self heals out of Regen, it seems super easy to maintain 30% Melee defense from this ability alone in combat. Am I misreading this?
  21. Oh! I was very wrong! Edit: The stacking blue boxes icon on the right indicate a "stacking effect"
  22. Not that I am aware of? I don't think any offensive powers which give Defense allow you to stack that stat. If I'm wrong, I'm very excited to be, cause I'll have a new character to roll.
  23. This, or, place yourself in the appropriate setting to make this sort of play work. Pocket D upstairs bar isn't that place. I've had great experiences RPing with other players who wrote for "loveable" asshole characters. The caveat was that I was in a villain group, and a lot of that came with the territory. At the time I RP'd a ditzy, size-changing mad scientist as well as a self-serious flying brick with delusions of grandeur. Both characters offered great foils for the "assholes," but the foundational premise was that it was expected due to the setting of the play.
  24. As you've seen from the spectrum of responses, OP, what rates as "fun to play" varies a bit from person to person. I'd say that if you enjoyed your Kat/Regen before, you'd problem enjoy him again. Give it a shot and find out! As @Troo correctly observed, Regen benefits from being paired with fast-animating powers. Kat is a good choice for this. Noone has really asked what AT this is going to be on. If you're flexible, I'd recommend Brute. Brute's higher HP values gets more net benefit from Regen's core abilities. Also, there is a bit of synergy on a Regen Brute in that Fury works well at lower levels, complimenting Regen's strengths there too.
