  1. I want a trebuchet that yeets me into orbit.
  2. Woof. Now there's an example to hold up high.
  3. It's written as if it's a legend, but apparently he fell into a rift in the ocean floor during his final battle with a monster called Chimera. Then lava spilled out and created the actual Talos Island. It's superheroes so anything can happen, but that's a pretty good soft-kill and a little hard to come back from without some narrative boogaloo. Also, I think we should all take a moment to consider the differences between mutants (little 'm') which have been occurring naturally since the existence of life, and Mutants (big M) which are humans with goofy god-tier powers that develop spontaneously at puberty.
  4. Just here to say: imagine thinking roleplaying is 'cringe' in an online roleplaying game.
  5. I know we've drifted from the this point into more broadly agreed-upon topics of conversation, but I'd like to reinforce Luminara's point here because it's a good one: On Rebirth I had my T3 Alpha in 3 days (~10 hours) of play after hitting 50, using only shards (I was hording threads for the later unlocks). The time to godhood was nearly infinitesimal. On Rebirth. With its dramatically lower player count. I just advertised and ran the TFs I wanted that offered the drops I needed, did one Weekly, and the spare shards I picked up along the way filled the gaps. The argument that HC has trivialized the journey to being incarnate carries no weight with me in particular. So back to the quoted point: the is no meaning to the time invested in the grind because there practically wasn't any of that, even. And once you're there, you're there. Oh, and by the way? Rebirth doesn't have attuned IOs, either. If you think the Alpha shift is the power creep culprit, I'd like to introduce you to Blasters who solo Citadel TF in under an hour.
  6. I'd suggest to you that you bundle requests 2-6 in a popmenu macro and drop them into team chat before you start your runs. You've cast a broad net here, and I'm sure you're frustrated. You might get more return on investment though if you communicate this to a more targeted audience.
  7. Ah so let's assume OP is the only person who this helps. +1 for OP, would appreciate this option as well.
  8. Like colorblind mode and accessibility ramps, a costume change option would have zero effect on you should you elect not to use it yourself.
  9. Cleared out a page and some characters had decent names, so posting here to help them find a new home. Detail High Fidelity Mystic Kid Party Crasher Sine Language ( a Bots/TIme MM ) Stray Voltage
  10. Precisely as @Mezmera has laid out; explained better than I could have.
  11. It basically already has in some regards. The recent rework of Afterburner is basically Jetpack's Turbo Boost with a new coat of paint. The power itself is even called "Fly_Boost" internally. I have my own theory on why these pools aren't going to get added, but it has nothing to do with OuroDev servers and more to do with how the HC player base has interacted with what's already provided. My forecast is we'll start to see more of what works cannibalized from the unfinished sets and incorporated into reworks of existing powers. I've played with this power on Sanctuary and Thunderspy and emphatically disagree. In it's 'current' state, with proper slotting you're looking at an absorb barrier that caps at your AT's base HP but with a 50% uptime. I mostly used this on /Regen characters to great effect, but I'd be drooling to have it available on any number of other AT/set combos. Especially Blasters and Doms. Or just my Inv/SS Tanker because I wanna. In line with my aforementioned tinfoil hat theory, I'd expect to see this power make it's actual debut as part of a rework to the Forcefield set.
  12. Something like this has been an ask from the RP community for a while. Probably the #1 requested change. Thanks BH for taking output from your conversations and putting them here, with the rationale behind the specific suggestion as well.
  13. In the underlined portion of this dialog, there seems to be an omitted word. On the HCWiki page it actually has the complete statement, oddly enough. This is from the final mission in the Tami Baker arc, Praetoria.
  14. From Controller > Trick Arrow > Entangling Arrow. "This groudns them..."
  15. Without knowing more, try moving the keybind to a dedicated subdirectory? Like coh\binds\shield1.txt And double check your formatting within the .txt files themselves, specifically where your quotation marks are placed.
  16. Mechanically fun? DP / Nin Blaster is probably my favorite. Having the ability to crit, and crit out of hide, is stupendous. Tack on the survivability from the sets, proc options, and flashy sword and pistol animations and it's a perfect storm. Not objectively better than Fire/Fire for overall damage output, but certainly more fun to watch. Close after that are Grav/Martial Dominator (with non-Hasten Permadom, muahahaha) for the controlled chaos, and BR/Kin Corruptor for... I don't really know why. I just like it. Hits hard and buffs well.
  17. Artillery was one of the sets that was added by HC about a year ago, so it's possible the original set they were working off of dropped starting at level 20. My guess is that it was templated off of Detonation. Good catch @Maloke.
  18. @Oklahoman, on Everlasting there is a Master of Magi run every Saturday night (I think... I'm at +9 GMT) where the whole thing is executed via chat only. If you haven't already participated in one I think you should give it a look. A lot (though not all) of the suggestions in this thread are applied. I also think the ELTFs community* leaders also primarily use Request chat to give instructions during the Trials because it pops out in a vibrant magenta and contrasts well against the sky blue of the League chat. Not sure if they bake this in to their popmenus or just have their outgoing chat set to that, but it's something to consider. */chan_join "Everlasting TFs" ; visible from any shard and the MotD will have the daily raid schedule.
  19. All those servers listed are servers from Live. My guess is that you're looking at the actual HC shards, but for some reason the old Live "wallpaper" is showing. Maybe your client is corrupt? I'd personally do a clean reinstall to see if that fixed the issue (though be sure to back up you subdirectories, as always).
  20. Sorry VT. I appreciate the inclusion with an estimable cadre of other players, but I've sworn off organized RP a while ago. I just fly the tag on characters I like to stay mostly IC with while in-game.
  21. I mean okay, fair. But can you please show me the other sexy lightbulb man from the mirror dimension? Hops on the back of a Shulkie-as-Mad Scientiest inspired character and they vault away into the sunset.
  22. This isn't a pushback on the instance-to-instance to observation, but just a thought: We were going instance to instance willy nilly when we could enterbasefrompasscode out of missions. The juice might not be worth the squeeze but certainly there is precedent for the possibility.
  23. I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but I can't really think of any major drawbacks so here goes: I've seen @GM Kal solicit for suggestions to the Devs to improve quality of RP, and this post is basically in the spirit of that. Lots of RP SGs on Everlasting use AE in it's intended purpose for running RP story arcs. These have been some of my favorite moments in game. It is a tad immersion breaking, though, to have to exit the SG Base and assemble in an AE building in Kings Row or where ever to move on to the next leg of the adventure. Since we already have things like the Crystal of Ice and Flame as a base object, and AE missions can be crafted/edited from anywhere with the earned accolade power, this didn't seem like too much of a stretch. And it's not like we're removing portions of the population from the environment this way as accessing a base would be an extra step for most farmers, without any added benefits that immediately comes to mind. Sorry if this has been brought up before and subsequently shot down, I did a quick scan and didn't see anything. Likewise I wasn't sure if this should go in RP, Everlasting, AE, or here. So I went to the place where it would probably be worst received for the most punishing feedback. Disclaimer: I don't even RP anymore. I just thought this would be a nice QoL thing for RPers to have. The spirit is willing but the flesh is in a bad time zone.
  24. I offer this: Don't get so hung up on your hooks that your characters can't grow. Or that you can't grow out of your characters, for that matter. On the flipside: If you want your characters to remain static and unchanging, because that's how you like them, then take breaks frequently. Rotate around, or play a different game entirely. That way when other players see those characters around, the feeling is like finding your favorite old hoodie in the back of the closet rather than the same pair of socks you wear all the time.
  25. Our hero wakes up tied to a chair in a dark room. The briny air and undulating floor beneath suggests a ship. From the shadows, a tidy monologue begins. "Enough with this talk of trade. Do you wish to know why you are here? It is simple. There is only enough room for thirty on this vessel. No more, no less. When a fresh new face arrives, room must be made on the roster. A fellow traveler goes overboard into the abyss." A sanctimonious smile spreads into a wicked grin. "And you have failed to earn your place. Goodbye...." TLDR: I only keep 30 characters at a time. Alts get deleted like a bad Reddit post. I feel like a hoarder with even that many.
