  1. I've never been happy with the weird way the detailed power descriptions are in game and with the fact that the wiki doesn't have actual numbers.
  2. Focused Accuracy is why I have Energy Mastery. Of course this means that I only get Laser Beam Eyes, which I love for thematic reasons, but is hardly great DPS-wise. I'm starting to think that I might have to create an entire second build for this character. A tough tank build and a damage build.
  3. Ok, so my admittedly limited understanding of procs is that I should slot in accuracy and endurance reduction and then 3 or 4 procs. I shouldn't slot any recharge in the powers themselves as that will lower the proc rate, I should instead work on global recharge. And since the procs fire in reverse order, I should slot a Fury of the Gladiator -resist proc in the last slot. Does that sound right? Also, are any of the Incarnate Interface abilities better than any other as far as extra damage?
  4. So I'm trying to figure out how to improve the damage output of my Invulnerability / Energy Melee tank without just rerolling her as Shield, or making a Scrapper version. I already have an Alpha Musculature Core Paragon. I've looked at IO set bonuses and Gaussian's chance for build up. The set bonuses don't really seem to offer enough to be worth the extensive slotting necessary. Am I wrong on that? Is the Gaussian's proc really worth it? And is there anything else that I'm overlooking? Any info and insight is appreciated.
  5. I have to devote a ton of slots on my Invuln tank in order to have enough defense and resistance to psi damage so that Carnies won't wreak me. My Invuln tank also doesn't have nearly as much regen as my Willpower tank has. Should we change that too? If you're having a hard time tanking Lord Recluse on a fire tank maybe use a different tank instead? Different armor sets have different strengths and weaknesses, and that's ok. I disagree with changing it. Not all armor sets should be the same.
  6. Correct. Grounded has KB protection only if the character is on the ground. To the OP: personally I don't mind tanks being knocked back/down occasionally. You see Superman getting knocked back through buildings all the time. It's just when it happens all the time, repeatedly, ad infinitum (like in GW2) that it's a problem for me. I think that all armor sets should have something they're nearly immune to and something that they have no protection against. Fire and Electric doesn't have enough KB protection for you? Get Combat Jumping and put a KB protection IO in it. Problem solved. I really, really, REALLY don't want the devs to take time coding in something that you already have the ability to fix yourself. TL;DR: Motion denied!
  7. The intent is what counts. If someone pulls a knife and tries to stab you, and you take the knife away from them and throw them across the room, they aren't a pacifist, they tried to stab you! A person is a pacifist if they won't harm you, not if they can't.
  8. Actual pacifists are bystanders. An actual pacifist doesn't commit violence because they don't endorse or condone violence. An actual pacifist doesn't go into dangerous situations and then help the people who are committing violence, or order them to do so, and then just stand back and watch the violence. Someone who refuses to commit violence themselves while ordering others to do so is either a coward, a mastermind or a politician.
  9. Super Heroes, as portrayed in the American four color comics, have always been about "beating up the bad guys." If you have super powers, but you refuse to fight, you can get a job as a journalist or accountant and just not use your powers. Or work at a hospital, if your powers include healing, or work as a secure courier if you can fly, etc. But you cannot really be a super hero if you won't fight and the alternatives, while they might be interesting to explore, are beyond the scope of this game.
  10. Yeah. But it's understandable though. There's always been a portion of people who refuse to admit that they're wrong even when they're given a link to a website, or shown a video, that proves them wrong. In recent years this portion seems to me to have increased considerably in size. After years and years of having to deal with people like this, it becomes infuriating. Frankly, Greycat was a lot more polite about it than I often am.
  11. 1) Not everyone plays a level 50 character that is up to their gills in set IOs. Support characters can be very useful then, especially if you turn up the difficulty. 2) There are a set of missions in the AE, called the 801 series, that is specifically designed to challenge full teams that are up to their gills in set IOs. Support characters can be very useful then, especially if you turn up the difficulty. 3) The developers have created a "Challenge Mode" for level 50 content that is far more challenging that normal content and with increased rewards. It's only available in one specific Task Force right now, but they've said they're going to proliferate it to other content. So it will become much more widespread, soon. Support characters can be very useful during this "Challenge Mode", especially if you turn up the difficulty. TL;DR: Yes, support characters can be useful. Some more than others, depending on the specific challenge faced.
  12. Cause there's nothing to fix. Tanks are supposed to be awesome! 😁
  13. <shrug> I also do not have a single damage proc in any attack on any character at all. Of the 50 some characters that I have, only two have any set IOs at all. My main, a tank, and a Fire/Fire/Fire Blaster. And the Blaster's only at 38% ranged defense. Yep. I'm not fast, I'm not optimal and I'm not efficient. I do that at work. When I play CoH I'm drinking a beer and/or coffee and just having fun. I barely plan out builds and I chit-chat with my friends on discord about pretty much everything while running around lighting skulls on fire. I really don't want this game to become some kind of Darksouls Super Hero game where I have to constantly play wack-a-mole with all of my various power sets and pools. Rings constantly popping up while I have to play my keyboard like Chopin on crack in a desperate attempt to stay alive because the devs added combos to all of the power sets and listened to all of the "game too easy, bruh" threads.
  14. A lot of people, including myself, have said that one of the things they like of City of Heroes combat is that it isn't fast paced and reflex driven. People who want that kind of combat can go play first person shooters or GW2 or Tera or something else. Now imagine, if you will, a Water/Energy Blaster with the Sorcery pool. First I get the yellow ring popping up on the Sniper attack and on Arcane Bolt. And I have to remember the 1-2-3 Tidal Force combo. And I have to remember to use Boost Range and/or Power Boost to change Stun into the type of attack that I want. Yeah. Forget all that nonsense. Look, I don't want to log in to Homecoming a few years from now to find that a combo system, yellow ring and all, has been added to every power set and pool. I don't want to play super-wack-a-mole while multiple power sets/pools are lighting up different rings at different times for different reasons in my power trays. That's a heck of a mini-game, but not one that I want to play.
  15. Yeah well this ain't reddit. You'd be surprised how many people on this forum agree with you and not with "the approved reddit opinion."
  16. Maybe report it as a bug? I can't imagine that damage of 1.25 is WAI. Also, I think I recognize your avatar. If I may ask, didn't you go by a different name on the retail forums?
  17. Yeah, I've always wondered about that. As a vigilante group, or "private security company" (the current euphemism for mercenaries), I wonder what exactly they're doing in The Etoile Isles. They don't seem to be taking control and establishing law and order, which is what you'd expect of an invading and occupying force. Instead they seem to just be standing around, giving people a hard time, and shooting at the local police. Frankly, they act more like an urban street gang than like the "heroes" they try to portray themselves as.
  18. You know what's weird? When I first saw Shenanigunner's post this morning it had no likes and he had 999 Rep. Now it has 5 likes and he still only has 999 Rep. They've gone and froze forum rep! Now I'll never make it into the inner circle before I get perma-banned!! 😭
  19. If the devs aren't going to set up Galaxy City as some kind of level 50 hazard zone where we work with the US military to push Arachnos forces out of Galaxy City then I'd prefer that they restore it to the exact way that it was before it was destroyed. Maybe they could even alter the echo version so that it's just as Galaxy City was originally, including NPCs and mission givers. I'd just like to level up a new character in Galaxy City again.
  20. I agree. I've always thought that enemy factions should always have 1 or 2 things that they resist well and 1 thing that they don't resist at all. Exceptions being the one enemy in the faction (like a Tank Smasher or Crey Tank) that's supposed to be really tough. Like Council should have good resistance to Lethal damage, robots should have ridiculously high resistance to Psi damage, etc. Other than that, 0% damage resistance should be the norm. Otherwise, what's the point in even having certain power sets if everyone's going to resist the damage? What's the point in leveling up and doing more damage if the enemies' damage resistance is just going to go up?
  21. Coincidentally I just created a Psi/Energy Blaster a week ago. Got her to 24 just yesterday. Just SOs. (Still happy that I can easily get SOs for lower level characters!) The only blaster that I played all last year is my level 50 Fire/Fire/Fire. So, as I'm sure you can imagine, I've been having difficulty going from ALL AOE ALL THE TIME! to no AoEs at all. But I'm still having fun learning how things work on Psi. While I agree that Psychic Tornado has a ridiculous, and over long, animation, I'm hoping that the devs don't touch Psi Blast at all. If past history is any indication they're likely to add some kind of weird combo system to it. I'm really hoping that they get over that kick but, until they do, I hope they don't add a combo system to the power set that I just started playing.
  22. Fairbanks, is that you? 😁
  23. You beat me to it, Shenanigunner! I was just about to post that I thought I remembered that the word Droid is trademarked by LucasFilm. And Google confirms that. Maybe change the name to "Renegade Pleasure Model"? Or "Renegade Fun Bot"? Just don't use the word "replicant" or you'll get generic'd again.
