  1. Wait! Weren't you the one who said: But now you're arguing in favor of an inherent that would do the same thing, just for powers instead of for endurance. What am I missing here? Can you please explain that to me?
  2. I have a Willpower/Broadsword Tanker, on villainside, that looks like an angel. White feather wings and all. How would you justify that? If you're going to say that a Mastermind with Angel pets shouldn't be able to go villainside, then, by that same premise, villains should not have access to white wings or the angel halo costume parts. It's up to the player to justify their individual choices in game, not the developers.
  3. It's almost like... People have jobs! I know. Weird, huh? 😁
  4. The more I think about this the more I believe that it should be a bit of both. - Endurance Cost * each teammate AND: +Mez Resistance * each teammate After some thought I disagree with the +Special because that would just make the Repeat Offenders (or any team with multiple Defenders) even more OP.
  5. Or instead try Taunt, Nemesis Staff and Hand Clap. By the time those are done animating the Rage crash is over. So many of you act like the 10 second Rage crash is the end of the world. THE END OF THE WORLD!!!! Ahhhhhhhh! Ridiculous. 🙄
  6. A friend of mine made his Jedi as a Psionic/Ninja Blaster. He used the Talsorian Vanguard Sword as his Ninjato, of course. A Kat/SR or Kat/WP Scrapper would be perfect if only there were a Psionic Epic Power Pool for Scrappers.
  7. Why not? I understand them not wanting to directly importing the powers, they wouldn't be balanced for a player character. But what would be wrong with using the same models and using similar powers so that they are balanced and operate mostly like the NPC versions? While we're at it, why not Freakshow MMs? Or Hellion or Outcast or even Family MMs? But not Skulls MMs. Cause Skulls all need to die.
  8. I posted basically the same thing @MHertz in another thread last month: "I think it's better for roleplaying if you're of moderate level superhero instead of Galactus. I actually think that level of power is a real trap for actual roleplayers." And of course one of those roleplayers took offense, because of course they did, and basically said "how dare you post in our subforum!" So yeah. When you ask people why they think roleplaying means "power-tripping and trying to lord it over other people", people get upset and attack, instead of actually considering the possibility that it's a real question. An important question that, if they actually thought about it, could actually improve their roleplay sessions for everyone. And that's all I can say because I guarantee that this post will be reported and a moderator will be reading it just looking for an excuse.
  9. My main is Invuln/Energy Melee. I'm always looking for a tougher build, but it seems no one ever takes Energy Mastery. For this character Laser Beam Eyes are a must. (Yeah, I know.) I usually take Focused Accuracy and Physical Perfection as well. If anyone has a good build with those things included, or even just some tips, I'd appreciate it.
  10. I think that some power and control is necessary for teleporters and a couple of other things. But I do believe that a lot of the power requirements for things have dropped and I don't remember exactly which items that's true of. However, I just use a super computer and a turbine generator and that's enough to handle everything. Those two items don't take up that much space. Also, there's a limit to how many storage items you can have in a base. Salvage storage, enhancement storage and inspiration storage all count toward the same total. So if you don't need much salvage storage that lets you have more inspiration and/or enhancements storage items.
  11. Shrink the base plot? Yes. Shrink a room? No. I have several bases that are all about utility, so I know what you mean. They have only 1 room, other than the entrance room, and I have all of the useful items in a horseshoe around the room entrance. To decrease the amount of time it'll take to shrink your base you could simply delete all of the other rooms, except for the one with utility items that you want to keep, move the storage and utility items into a small area around the room entrance, and then just populate the rest of the room with a couple of decorative items. Or you could just leave that part of the room empty since you probably won't even go into that part of the room anyway. Pro tip: have the utility room south of the entrance room since your character always faces south when entering the base. This will save you a few seconds of time.
  12. You know Luminara, I've been waiting for your post in this thread. I was planning on a long, point-by-point response that started with "Buckle up, cupcake!" But now, having read your post, I'm just going to say: I agree with you.
  13. I completely agree that it's not necessary. My next answer will explain why. My only objection to removing it is that Luminara will kill us both, and no one really wants that. Ok, I like consistency, and I'd even be ok with Defenders being great on teams and not really even being able to solo. Every AT has a specialty. Scrappers are solo warriors. Tankers are battlefield control and team protection specialists. And so on. The entire purpose of Defenders is to support and strengthen a TEAM. Every power they have, including the Inherent, is one that is supposed to support and strengthen a team. Any ability they get that doesn't help the team literally goes against the entire purpose of the AT. The problem with Vigilance currently is that it always benefits all Defenders when soloing, but it does not benefit all Defenders when teaming.
  14. Get the Fast Travel Accolade! That thing is awesome. And Prestige, which used to be the currency used to build bases, is no longer a thing. So you can found a Super Group, immediately build a base with all of the teleporters, and invite all of your other characters to that Super Group with the "/altinvite charactername" command. Other than that, everything that Invaderstych said. Oh and welcome home, hero. 🙂
  15. I disagree. Endurance Cost Reduction is an ability that helps all Defenders. Anything else will only help some kinds of Defenders. +Recharge literally does not help Force Field or Sonic Defenders, while it makes Empaths far more powerful. +Heal only helps a Empaths and a few others. +Special could end up making Force Field and/or Sonic Defenders overpowered while not really helping Empaths that much. But Endurance Cost Reduction helps every Defender of every powerset. Now, in one of my last posts I recommended a scaling Endurance Cost Reduction that went up to -70%, and some of you thought that was crazy. Well, there's such a thing as a "ghost bonus." I'm sure that Games Theory probably has a specific term for this that is different, but I'll stick with this term ghost bonus for now. Hypothetical example: let's say someone does the math and determines that a Defender really only needs -40% Endurance Cost Reduction in order to not have endurance issues anymore. But what if we give them a -70% ECR? Well, that extra -30% is a bonus that doesn't end up doing anything. It's not really helpful. It's a "ghost bonus." It makes the player feel good to have a Huge Number(TM), but in the end it doesn't really matter. But what does matter is than an Endurance Cost Reduction will benefit all Defenders; Storm, Force Field and Empath.
  16. C'mon Arcane. He's making a general statement. Which, like all general statements, is generally true the majority of the time for the majority of people. Don't be one of those guys who freaks out and argues semantics. Don't be that guy. You're smarter than that. Most people who've bought even a reasonably new computer at any point within the last 10 years will be able to run multiple instances of CoH. With a little bit of work (plugging in a USB keyboard) you can run CoH on a friggin TABLET.
  17. Hey, three is still three more than I thought there were. I've been on a LOT of video game forums over the years and I don't think I've seen three suggestions from the player base make it into any other game ever. So Homecoming has a good track record there. Thanks for answering my question, gentlemen.
  18. Bio is the preferred set if you want your character to look like someone who runs around saving the day with giant chunks of dried poo stuck to the side of their head, and other body parts. If, on the other hand, you don't want your character to look like Chunky Poo Man! (feel free to steal that name) then take Willpower.
  19. On a side note, I don't know why we keep doing this. We keep posting suggestions but none of them ever get implemented. I feel like the whole Suggestions & Feedback subforum is just a catspaw. A ruse that was implemented to keep people from bothering the devs. A way to make people think they're listening to us when, in fact, they just ignore this subforum and do whatever they were going to do in the first place. Has anyone ever seen a single one of these suggestions implemented in game?
  20. You're correct about that. However: I'm not convinced that the solo damage buff is an issue. If you remove the solo damage buff, a LOT of players are going to lose their marbles and light the forums on fire! Also, Luminara will be along shortly to explain to us just how wrong we all are for not recommending that the developers immediately buff Defenders to high heaven in numerous respects.
  21. I don't think so. First, I dislike the entire endurance system to begin with. My character is a super hero, they don't get winded. Secondly, you want to make sure that Defenders and Corruptors are clearly different and have clearly different foci? Well, this will do it. Corruptors and Defenders will play much differently and have different strengths.
  22. I'd leave the damage bonus alone and just alter the endurance cost reduction to be per teammate, regardless of their HP. That way Defenders who are doing their jobs properly aren't penalized for it. So it'd look like this: Solo +30% damage 1 TM +20% damage, 10% endurance cost reduction 2 TM +10% damage, 20% endurance cost reduction 3 TM 30% endurance cost reduction 4 TM 40% endurance cost reduction 5 TM 50% endurance cost reduction 6 TM 60% endurance cost reduction 7 TM 70% endurance cost reduction
  23. Wait what? Is that a real article? *Checks the calendar.* After reading that article I feel like someone's about to jump out at me at yell "April fools!"
  24. Now this one's hard to call. On the one hand I'm guessing that would be the ultimate expression of PATRIARCHY! But, on the other hand, given how upset a certain subset of people were about a recent bill in Florida that prohibits teachers from grooming school children, maybe not. Like I said, this one's hard to call.
