Please remove/change "A woman dressed like a Harlot"
PeregrineFalcon replied to Zappalina's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Ok, fine. Perhaps you should ask the moderators to perma-ban Marcus Cole from the forums then. Would that make you happy? -
Make Corruptors King of Debuffs

This means that you and I disagree. This does not mean that my statement was misleading or disingenuous. -

Tyrant is a bad guy. A villain. This internal dialog of his shows just what a bad guy he is. If the language is cleaned up then he won't look like the villainous mass murderer that he is. Is that the intention? To clean up his dialog so that he's a sympathetic character rather than a villain? -
Make Corruptors King of Debuffs
PeregrineFalcon replied to Apparition's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It's neither. Look, a Corruptor's primary powerset is ranged damage. It's secondary for a Defender. So the way I see it the Corruptor's primary job is to deal damage, with a side of also support the team. So they are, first and foremost, a ranged damage dealer. The Defender's primary is support, with a side of "oh look, I can also do a bit of damage." So they are, first and foremost, a team support character. So no. My statement was neither misleading nor disingenuous. I don't make misleading or disingenuous statements. -

When I was referred to myself I was referring to the hypothetical statement in the second half of my sentence. Sorry if that confused you. So, let's go with your original statement: "not cool." Ok, let's assume that a game dev reads your thread. This statement tells him nothing. It doesn't tell him what the actual problem is and therefore he will not know how to solve it. So no. Please don't do a long educational piece where you write condescendingly to all of us plebes, and attempt to amaze us with your genius. Believe it or not, you're not the only person on this forum who's well aware of all of the issues you've mentioned. Instead, please just answer my original question. What specifically is the problem? And please understand, you're not answering that question for me, but you are answering it for the developer who will probably read this thread. -
Make Corruptors King of Debuffs
PeregrineFalcon replied to Apparition's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
"Why can't my Sentinel do as much damage as my Blaster?" "Why can't my Defender do as much damage as my Blaster?" "Why can't my Corruptor debuff as well as my Defender?" Yes. Right now the best choice for every support set is to play Defender. The one AT whose sole function is to support a team. Nah, let's just screw them over by making a ranged damage dealer just as good at support as they are. -

PeregrineFalcon replied to Zappalina's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
How is this not cool? Do harlots not exist? Do they not tend to dress in a specific way? Are you offended by the word itself? What specifically is the problem? Just saying "not cool" is much like "do better". It's a complaint that tells me nothing and doesn't even hint at what I can do to fix the problem. -
New Help Status Option: Streamer
PeregrineFalcon replied to Dythok's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
This was talked about in a previous thread. I was against it then and I'm against it now and for the same reasons. However, since I was warned by the moderators for my explanation in that thread I will not go into the reasons why here. Hence the pic. -

Rise of the Phoenix and Soul Transfer buffs?
PeregrineFalcon replied to Ston's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Bonfire with a KB > KD IO alone is better than all of the other powers in all of the other Blaster Epic Pools combined. In my opinion. It makes no difference. Those characters outnumber all other characters combined for a reason. And please don't try to tell me that farming is soooooo completely different than normal gameplay. Yes, it's a little different, but it's still going around killing stuff. Whatever works in farming is going to work in normal gameplay, with some exceptions. And please don't give me a list of all of those times in which normal gameplay is different than farming. I already said with some exceptions. Anything you list will fall under "exceptions." Sorry, I just feel the need to explain that word to people now days. Personally I just pick up a couple of the P2W self-rezzes, almost never use them, and call it good. -
Rise of the Phoenix and Soul Transfer buffs?
PeregrineFalcon replied to Ston's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I am completely against any buffs whatsoever to Fiery Armor and Flame Mastery. Fiery Armor is far and away the most common armor set in the game. Fiery Armor characters outnumber everything else in game, according to the stats published by a game dev. Simply put, Fiery Armor doesn't need any buffs whatsoever. And Flame Mastery for Blasters? It's already the only choice for Blaster Epic Pools, being far better than all of the other choices. I don't remember enough about Dark Armor to have a viable opinion. -

Yeah, ok. I didn't say that it happened in three days, but it has happened. Nice attempt to strawman my argument. Oh look! Here's a thread: Indomitable Needs Your Help - "What I am asking, is that some of you put a character or two back on Indom to prop up the numbers..." Yeah, people are starting threads like that because the server population is soooooooo tremendously high. I guess you're right. I guess that I don't know what I'm talking about. Oh, except that here's where you admit that I actually do know what I'm talking about. I like that you changed your mind and admitted that I'm right in the very same post. How very Snopes of you. Look, I realize that you're the CoH PvP Guru, and I'm not saying that sarcastically, but do you really have to disagree with everything anyone says that appears to be against PvP even when you admit that it's true?

I'm fairly certain that most of the PvE crowd will agree with me when I say: I don't care what you do to change PvP. Leave it as is, revert it to pre-I13 state, change the rules to something else entirely, whatever. I just don't want the developers spending a lot of time on PvP changes for the 10 whole people who PvP as opposed to the 99% of us who don't. Don't believe me? Read the thread about Idom, the PvP server, dying People are desperately trying to get people to play on that server. Everyone left that server when it was announced that it was the PvP server. Even the PvPers left. Most of the Homecoming PvP happens on Excelsior these days. So yeah. Do whatever you want with PvP. Just please don't spend a ton of developer time for the 10 whole people who still PvP because that's time you could be spending coding things for the rest of us who don't. Not that my opinion matters.

Spread the word. Tell all of your friends that CoH is still around. Welcome home!
-
Also, a LOT of people are taking a break from CoH and playing: End of Dragons, which recently released. Legacy of the Sith, which recently released. Endwalker, which recently released.

You have to create a brand new account. Nothing of accounts or characters was saved from the retail servers.

Personally I'm against any buff to Willpower. I have a Willpower tank and several Willpower scrappers. It appears to me that the design intention for Willpower is "the set that's fairly tough without the player having to do anything." Along with "a Tier-9 that's helpful but not overpowered and can't be made perma." And in that it succeeds quite well. It has a few weaknesses that are easily covered with Inspirations and/or pool powers. Sure it's not Granite, and I don't believe that it's intended to be. I think that it's intended to be the fixed regen and/or other unspecified toughness that doesn't really cause FX. Honestly I think that Willpower is one of the few sets that shouldn't be touched at all because it's exactly where it should be.

Option to always decline teleports
PeregrineFalcon replied to Hedgefund's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I definitely think this would be a good idea, especially if the process of coding this also requires the devs to fix the problems with Team Teleport. -
First, I want to say that this is clearly a horrible and unacceptable thing to say to someone. I don't care who they are. Secondly, it's worse to say things like this online because we all know that most people wouldn't have the courage to say this stuff to people IRL. So it just makes the person saying it online look like a coward. Third, I don't know that we want this thread to devolve into us just posting examples of the horrible things people have said to us. Or maybe we do. If so just let me know, I have a long list of horrible things that people have said to me online. And some of those people were game devs.

What would happen in PVE builds could be used in PVP?
PeregrineFalcon replied to The_Warpact's topic in General Discussion
It's funny. I just posted in another thread addressing this exact thing. Short version: the PvEers were cheering the devs on when they killed PvP with Issue 13. Because of how rude and insulting the PvPers were to them. That's the "good times" you're referring to. And yeah, I know what you mean about passing the time at work. Some days are definitely busier than others. 😃
