  1. Apologies if someone already answered this and I missed it. Since Taunt IO sets can now be slotted in Tanker aggro toggles... If I slot Perfect Zinger chance for Psi damage in Invincibility, will it damage me or the enemies around me? EDIT: I tested it and it affects enemies. But I don't think it happens often enough to be worthwhile.
  2. Reeeaaaally? Mmmm. How would suggest I go about building that? I can't imagine that replacing the 3 dam enhancements in say TF or ET will procs would be useful. Am I wrong on that?
  3. MM? I don't know what that means. Posts I saw by Billzbuba stated that War Mace, among others, routinely had better pylon times than EM. Did I miss an update to that?
  4. Just a question for the developers (and yes I've been testing EM on Brainstorm): Energy Melee has two things, 1) Single-target damage and, 2) Stuns. Now, since EM still isn't going to be the best at single-target damage (there's no dispute here, pylon tests prove this) can we at least get some improvements to the stuns? And yes. I am asking for the ability to more reliably stun bosses. I don't care about stunning minions or even lieutenants, and I don't expect to be able to reliably stun EBs or AVs. But, since single-target damage is about taking down bosses, and since EM can't be the king of single-target damage again, can it at least be the king of single-target stuns?
  5. The ability to snap windows to a grid and then lock them so that they won't move and all be saved at that same location. Including windows for base storage. (Which always reset when the UI options are reloaded) Oh, and I'd like stuff that's in base storage to stop jumping around when I'm pulling items out.
  6. See, I remember those threads where we argued with Castle about stuff that was on the test server. And sometimes you and I were in agreement and sometimes not. When, in the entire life-cycle of this game, have you ever seen significant changes happen to something that was on test based on player feedback? Oh sure, a couple of percentage points here a 1/4 of a second to an animation there, but a significant change like adding/removing a combo system? Never. It's going live like this and you know it is. The best we can do is hope to convince the devs to buff EM so that it is once again the King of Single Target Damage. Letting them know that some people really dislike combo systems, or at least don't want every power set to have them, is worthwhile. But we all know that they're not going to reverse all of the work they've done to EM on account of a few guys who don't sign their paychecks. IMHO.
  7. Then that's an enormous mistake by the devs, IMHO. Energy Melee used to be the King of Single Target Damage, and it should be again. What's the point of even 'fixing' Energy Melee if it's not going to regain that title? So War Mace does better AoE AND better single target damage than Energy Melee? Ridiculous! Can I at least blame THAT on PvP? (j/k Macskull)
  8. Yeah, mine is an Invuln/EM Tank. My main from before The Snap. A low-damage cone stun just doesn't seem helpful. Now for an EM Scrapper I can see where stunning half of the mob while I beat on the other half would be a definite survival boost.
  9. So I'll admit that I was almost as unhappy about the change to EM as Troo is. Then I logged on to the test server and tried it. Yes, as someone said earlier in the thread "It's as minimally gimmicky as possible." Also this "gimmick" gives EM some flexibility. 1) Go for fast/high damage ET, 2) Go for a debuff in Bonesmasher, or 3) Go for more AoE with Power Crash. I won't be using Power Crash, but I can see where some people would like it. And at least Stun did get a buff of sorts. And I LOVE that ET has its old animation back. And I LOVE TF's sped-up animation.
  10. Did some testing. All of the portals and porters seem to work as advertised. At least for me they did. I do have one request of my fellow forum posters though. Can we PLEASE stop saying "this has been talked about for over a year"? Most players do NOT live on the forums and they do NOT know that this has been talked about. A lot of people don't know that the base pass code is dev command or that we were already told that it was going away. You're literally yelling at someone for not remembering a conversation that they were not there for.
  11. Feel free to log in to your moderator account and sanction me or ban me outright then. Otherwise trying to tell me what I'm allowed to talk about is a waste of your time.
  12. Ok, fair enough. If it matters I hope that you all get your wish and that this functionality is removed from PvP zones and arenas. I just hope that the Homecoming devs aren't going to screw over the base community and the RP community just to satisfy the unending complaints of the PvP community.
  13. You say that but I've never seen a single person who wasn't on my team in any of the PvP zones since I've been on Homecoming. Ever.
  14. You're correct. I did not understand why the exploit will be revoked. Prior to your post the only reasons I'd seen given (not saying that more information isn't out there, just that I hadn't seen it) was "It's an exploit" and "Cause PvP." 1) Ok, while that wouldn't affect me, as I'm not a badge collector, I can see where that'd be a problem. I wasn't aware that "no death badge runs" was a thing. 2) Couldn't you already use the Base Teleporter or Pocket D Teleporter to accomplish this? 3) It doesn't really make travel powers irrelevant. After traveling to a zone you still have to cross the zone. The base passcode doesn't really help with that. 4) Yeah. I'm not one of the dozen or so players who cares about PvP. And, since the PvPers are such a tiny minority in this game, I don't believe that the Homecoming devs should worry about them either. Just my opinion of course. Thank you for your informative post, Monos King.
  15. I do not understand why the base passcode macro "must" go away. Ok, so it was a dev command. So? Flying was once something only birds do, now we do it all of the time. I don't know how many times I've been creating IOs for the players in my SG and I go out the portal, use the auction house to buy salvage, passcode back to base, go out the portal, use the auction house to buy salvage, passcode back to base, repeat, repeat, repeat. Thanks to the base passcode macro I'm able to do all of this in under 2 minutes, instead of a half-hour. The passcode macro taking almost no time, and having no recharge, is WHY we like it. It's WHY it's useful. While you're "fixing" the base passcode thingy don't forget to re-enable prestige for supergroup bases. Cause we all need more time-sinks, right? You need to keep us in game longer, keep us subscribing. Let's drop the 2XP from the P2W vendor too while you're at it. After all, it let's you level too quickly, and we all remember how much Positron hates that! What's that? The PvPers don't like it? What, all eleven-teen of them? Well, then they don't have to use it. My friends and I having it available, and using it, does NOT in any way affect PvP. Oh noes! The base passcode can be used to escape from combat. So can the exit button. So can teleport. So can placate. So what? Look, please don't think I'm insulting anyone. That's not what I'm trying to do. But none of your arguments make any sense. The only real argument I've seen so far is; "I'm a developer and it's cause I said so." Well, that at least makes sense, but where I come from it's what's called "a d*** move."
  16. Windows 10 didn't want me to install it. I overrode that and it installed in seconds. I've had no issues whatsoever launching or playing the game.
  17. I know I'm late to the party here. I buy all of the amps on a new character. It only runs Inf24K, and they generally last me until level 20-22. After that there's KB protection IOs and the temp powers that you can make in bases. Anyone, besides me, remember that those are still there?
  18. I would revert Energy Transfer to its original animation that was 1 second long. And possibly add damage to Stun, as was done to Cobra Strike. When the changes are done Energy Melee should be the number 1 in single target damage. Which, in today's game where everyone favors AoE, shouldn't be a problem for anyone. Will this make Energy Melee "OP"? Well, one set has to be the best at something. Why can't Energy Melee be the best at single target damage? It used to be, before the live devs decided that Energy Melee had to die. Please don't add any special tricks or gimmicks to Energy Melee. When I want that I'll play SS or SJ, just make it the fun and fast set that it used to be. Make Energy Melee Great Again! 🙂
  19. Since my main is a level 50 tank I exemplar more often than not. My character is built to be tough at lower levels, having access to all of her toggles plus Tough and Weave at level 20. The autos and many of the attacks come later. I'm still working on getting more set IOs and attuning them. Plus of course the special IOs (Steadfast +3% defense, etc.) are also the lowest level ones available, and slotted into low level powers so that they'll be available at low levels.
  20. Agreed. My main on Homecoming, the same character that was my main on live, is an Invul/EM Tanker. She's a mutant and member of the Nuclear 90 that can create force fields. Force fields around her fists for EM and around herself. Since EA wasn't available on Tankers I picked Invuln since it looked the part. And then the effects were muted. I preferred the glowier version.
  21. In April, 2019, Sister Flame's father posted on the Facebooks CoH Survivors Public Group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/CoHSurvivors/permalink/2172650202820633/ He talked about them all playing CoH together again.
  22. I'm not attacking you, Saikochoro, nor anyone else that dislikes VOIP, but I've never understood the hatred that some people have for voice coms. Can someone explain to me why the dislike for voice communication with your teammates in videogames?
  23. Here's my idea, and it should be obvious what I'm copying, of a defensive set with minimal FX. Powered Armor (Defensive set for Brutes/Scrappers/Tankers) Hardened Armor - Toggle, +Res(Lethal, Smash, Toxic, Disorient, Sleep), +Special Battery Pack - Auto: +Max HP, +Regen, +Recovery, +Res(Slow, End Drain), +Special Hostile Environment Suit - Toggle, +Res(Hold, Knockdown, Immobilize), +Def(Energy, Negative, Fire, Cold, Psionic), +Special Adaptive Armor - Toggle, +Res(All), Foe -Res(All), Taunt, +Special Ablative Armor - Self, +Absorption, +Regeneration System Mode - Self, Gain Efficient, Defensive and Offensive Adaptations Conduction Panels - Click, PBAoE Minor DMG(Lethal/Toxic) Foe -Regen, Taunt, Self +HP, +End, +Special Nanite Field - Toggle, PBAoE, Minor DoT(Toxic), -Damage(All) Automated Defense System - PBAoE, Self +Absorb, +Regeneration, +Recovery, Foe -DMG, -Speed, -Recharge
