  1. Excellent point.
  2. After a review, I don't think the portals qualify. They have special mechanisms that are pretty balanced.
  3. The Longbow Warden with the broken detention field. You can only use power that affect self. Meanwhile, all the longbow agents can attack you with impunity. They are rare, but nigh impossible to defeat unless you get the drop on them first.
  4. I created a topic about this recently.
  5. Can we can add community events to the calendar? You could also optionally filter by server. Maintenance schedule Raids Task forces Arena events When you click on an event, it sends you to the forum post for more information. This way, reoccurring events are easy to find and build on the community. The bad part is it would require more administration to clear out discontinued events or bogus items.
  6. Hmmm. good question. Those portals have special attributes compared to some other mobs. They are immobile, and I think their perception is lower than most mobs. What do other think?
  7. I forgot to add the Communications officers for the Rikti.
  8. What level characters are allowed? 45-50? Or just level 50?
  9. Yes, that also happens with the buffing pets of Devouring Earth. One of them put down a Fungi pet somewhere in the cave. Good luck finding it!
  10. Thanks, I forgot about those guys. I added to the list above.
  11. The auto-turrets are very frustrating with my Illusion/Dark controller and Mind/Psionic Dominator. Being machines, they are resistant against psychic damage.
  12. It sounds like the same problem I've had for the past few months. I did find a workaround. If I started a VPN connection, the update would complete successfully. I suspect my ISP might see the Tequila update as suspicious traffic.
  13. Admittedly, this is a small peeve. Some enemy pets are unbalanced. They do not despawn when the summoner is defeated They do not grant any experience They are tougher than regular minions The pets should either give experience, prestige and drops; or they should despawn when the summoner is defeated. Frostfire, if I recall, has his fire imps despawn when he is defeated. The force field generators of the Sky Raiders give experience and are weaker than regular minions. Portals that summon minions. I don't think these need to change. The demonic portal give XP equivalent to approximately 10 minions. If you can defeat it before 10 minions come out, you are ahead. Communications Officer (Rikti) - summon Conscripts Demonic Portals (CoT) - summon demons The pets I am thinking of are related to (but not limited to): Bres (Tuatha de Dannan) - summon stone pets Master Illusionists (Carnival of Shadows) - summons phantasms Operation Engineer (Malta) - summon Auto Turrets LampLighter (Drudges) - Summon Shades (Suggested by Coyotedancer) Death Shaman (Banished Pantheon) - Summon husks (suggested by 0th Power) Anyone think of any other unbalanced enemy pets?
  14. This would make Recall Foe too powerful, you could teleport a foe across a city map.Too easy for bad actors to grief players by teleporting high level foes from across the map right into their melee attack.
  15. That's a good observation. Many of these missions were end-game content, as the max level was 40 when the game was released. The first expansion, issue 1, increased the level-cap to 50. The devs were probably trying to churn out as many 30-40 missions as they could before release.
  16. Something that annoys me about this game (way back when it was live) were the missions that were timed or defeat all but weren't labelled as that. They fixed the timed missions, to make sure they were described as timed before accepting them. However, the unidentified "defeat all" missions are still present and unimproved. To be clear, I am not against a mission whose stated goal is: "Defeat all villains in the base". My issue is with missions whose goals are: "Save the hostages" or "Find the evidence". You click on the glowies and rescue the NPCs, but the mission isn't over. You now have to go back through the map to find the enemies you missed. I sometimes log in for a quick mission, but I have to abandon and redo these missions because I don't have an extra 10~30 minutes to look for stragglers. In my opinion, these unmarked "defeat all" missions were designed as a time sink for players (useful when billing by the month). Now, they don't really serve a purpose other than annoy players like me. My suggestion: Remove the defeat all flag from the missions who aren't explicitly "defeat all", or.... Add "Defeat all" somewhere in the description. What do the rest of the player base think? Should they be changed, or am I just a whiner?
  17. So a fresh install did not resolve the problem. However, I logged into my VPN and set myself to the USA. And it was able to update the file properly. So weird. Thanks for your help.
  18. Same problem with the laptop, but better description of the problem: Reinstalling CoH on my desktop to see if a fresh copy will work.
  19. I've tried two different networks, cable modem and mobile network. I disabled my firewall and antivirus, but same problem. I get a 403 FORBIDDEN error trying to reach http://nsa.tools/hc/20200127_706/patch/texture_gui.pigg. I don't have the credentials to access the file. I'll dust off my laptop and see if the problem is unique to my PC. I have tequilla (and CoH) installed on it, but I haven't updated it in months.
  20. I've restarted tequila several times, and shut off and rebooted my PC. This has been on-going since yesterday. Still stops at the texture_gui.pigg Notice that the file download is bin_particles.pigg. This is to show other files are downloading properly. The third images shows what happens when I try it with texture_gui.pigg The mobile network connection was to eliminate my home internet connection as being the problem. I have 1gig cable internet at home. Thanks
  21. I tethered my PC to my mobile phone, and tried downloading from the mobile network. Same problem.
  22. Just to add, I change the manifest to Rebirth, and all the files downloaded from there without a problem. I put the manifest back on Homecoming, and it failed again at texture_gui.pigg
  23. Haven't started up Tequila in a few weeks. Tried this morning and all the files validated expect for texture_gui.pigg I closed and restarted and re-validated several times, but it always stops the texture_gui.pigg If I copy and past the links for the manifest XML file into my browser bar, I get a prompt to download the file: But if I try that on the texture_gui.pigg, I get a connection reset error: Any tips?
  24. Controllers can be way more easy. My illusion/darkness controller: Turn invisible Summon pets Run
  25. He was one of the original starting contacts in Atlas Park. You had different contacts, depending on your origin, and you would be sent against different enemies.
