Farming: Love it or hate it. Farming has changed the primary use of AE. But what if AE could be redeemed and transformed into what it was intended: shared end-user content? What if we could migrate the best missions out of the AE and into the game proper. The AE becomes a BETA testing for potential future missions. A whole host of new missions, new taskforces, and new progression paths. We could have AE content contests: winner gets added to the game. Would this be worthwhile? Sure, farmers would still farm. But the AE would no longer be defined (almost) solely by that. To the DEVS: How hard is it to migrate missions from the AE to the game proper? I imagine there would be tweaks needed for contacts and mission doors.

You can also talk to Freddy, or Frank, or Francine on the street. Any civilian with a name starting with the letter F. They will give you the time of Day in Paragon City. Source

Suggestion for Next April Fool’s Day
drdread replied to Apparition's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Replace Atlas Park by Galaxy City. Sounds simple, hard to implement. -
I've been noticing that my controller has been missing more often. I started copying the "to hit" messages to an Excel file to examine my accuracy. In this case, I was facing enemies +0/+1 to me, but my accuracy was still stated as 95%. Now, my build has a lot of AoE and autohit effects, which I thought may skewer my accuracy. The enemies I faced were 5th Column, Council, Sky Raiders, Family, and Security Guards, so a mix of defenses, resistances and debuffs. Here is what I found from a sample size of 1635 hit rolls: Result Number PRCNT Hit* 546 67.6% Miss 261 32.3% Hit without autohit and streakbreaker 393 60.1% Overall, I had 774 autohits in 1635 hit rolls (47%). If I added all the autohits to my accuracy, I had an 81.7% accuracy. Closer but still significantly lower than the 95% the system reported I should have. Am I missing something here? The to-hit for the enemy was pretty accurate. The game reported between 50% to 66% to hit, and the finally average after 180 enemy to hit rolls was 57%. I know the original randomizer that Cryptic made was not very good. They added the streakbreaker because the system would group-up hits and misses much too often. PS. I can make the Excel file available, if that would be useful.

Thank you for this guide. I had started an Electric/Poison controller, which I was struggling with. I couldn't understand how jolting chain could be useful. Now I can take on mobs of 20+ and come out with full health and end.

One of the GMs said on chat that they are working on it.

I've never seen the powexec_location command. However, if you want a macro to use recall friend on teammate number 1: /macro TM1 "team_select 1 $$ powexec_name Recall Friend" This will prompt you to choose a location with your mouse, it won't just teleport someone without a mouse click. There is a guide on how to store and transfer macros:

Why does everyone seem to run +4/8 or nothing?
drdread replied to JnEricsonx's topic in General Discussion
Chance of drops, no. But enemies tend to drop recipes at their level. A level 49 enemy will more likely drop a level 49 recipe. Putting the enemy level higher removes the risk of getting a recipe below level 50 (as my understanding, but I could be wrong). It doesn't change the chance of salvage or incarnate material. -
Why does everyone seem to run +4/8 or nothing?
drdread replied to JnEricsonx's topic in General Discussion
Personally, it depends on who the opponents are. I'll do +4/8 against Council or CoT, but not against Malta or Carnies. Shifting to +4/8 gives a better chance for drops, but loot is not always the end goal. -
Wouldn't Khalisti Wharf work? It's accessible to red and blue, easy to access at all levels, and normally doesn't have much population on it. I do like your idea. However, because of how the game treats SG bases as an instanced map, there are some odd functionalities that don't work. To fix it might require a major overhaul.

Make Mayhem Missions More Rewarding
drdread replied to Darkneblade's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
None of you have gotten nifty temporary powers from mayhem missions? Some of those are sweet rewards. -
I just want properly labelled mission objectives, not bad "bait-and-switch" missions. There are good "bait and switch" missions in CoH, but those communicate when the mission objective has changed. Those are fun. The missions I'm talking about are repetitive and unclear chores.

Story-wise, make sense. Game design-wise, redundant.

Also many of these have pointless secondary targets. "Save the scientists and defeat all enemies" Why bother adding saving the scientists if you have to clear the map anyway?
