Well, CoH is a pretty old game. Most modern PCs with a descent CPU and memory should run it without an issue. For video cards, you don't need to break the bank. The big selling point of the newest nVidia cards is RTX, which CoH doesn't support. So an nVidia 1660 will do fine. If you get an AMD processor, some have a built-in Radeon graphics capabilites which would work too, but it will require more system memory. The biggest bottleneck might be your internet speed. Hope that helps.

Before sunset, I had a Will Power/Dual Blades tanker that I was quite fond of. You have to get used to setting up combos with the dual blades attacks. I liked it, but I do recall people not being overly positive of it.

I wanted to run through both missions before making a comment. On the rogue side, I played a TW/RAD brute; on the vigilante side, I played a WP/SS tanker. Overall Excellent job. Both had engaging stories, and very different missions. Both were a good length, not too long and not too short. The cutscenes. Very well implemented, especially on the vigilante mission. They felt much more impactful than the cutscenes Paragon Studios had made. Both mission had some very unique elements, especially the rogue mission. Both stories were excellent in communicating the importance of alignment. The rogue mission had a nice variety of antagonists, while the vigilante mission had a good cohesion of the antagonists. Criticisms These aren't game breaking, and the missions are still very worthwhile to do, but some observations. The second mission of the rogue story was a little bewildering at first. I had problems finding the NPC, and I was confused at first of the appearance of the arch-villain. A waypoint or a clue to the location of the NPC would have been useful, as I thought his location was actually out of bounds. However, it was also a hallmark mission of the storyline. I liked how the arch-villain could change the dynamics of the mission. I felt the vigilante mission was easier than the rogue mission. Granted, the characters were quite different, but the elite boss at the end of the rogue mission was more difficult than I expected. I don't necessarily think it needs adjustment, just an observation. Good job to the people who worked on both missions. You vastly exceeded my expectations.

Transferred and lost SuperGroup base, anyway to recover?
drdread replied to DarknessEternal's topic in Help & Support
I'm not a GM or developper either, but I think it is gone for good. The only way to maybe get it back is to do a rollback, but that's a lot of work for the devs, and you would lose any progress made since the move. -
Not sure if the homecoming team changed the setting, but by default: Mail sent to an inactive account has no official time-limit details yet. Mail sent to an active account has no official time-limit details yet. Sorry.😪 Edit: Just to clarify, the time-limit is to delete, not return to sender.

There are tools in the link above which makes it as easy as replacing a file on your computer. So long as you know which texture you are replacing, it isn't hard. The harder thing is actually making the costume texture. If you haven't made texture maps for 3d models, it can be confusing. There are some tutorial videos on Youtube that explains how texture mapping works, and it'll give you an insight on how to accomplish this.
-
You could by replacing a current texture of a costume. However, keep in mind the following: The replacement texture needs to be the same resolution as the texture it replaces. This might be tricky if you have a lot of small details to show in the new costume. Only you will see the changed costume, unless you share your modified PIGG file(s) with other people.
-
The resolution limit is due to the age if the game. However, now that the game client was updated to 64bit, new textures have the potential of having higher resolution. The old textures are pretty much hard set tho'.

Here is a document on how to modify textures in CoH. https://corps.ouro-comdev.com/index.php?title=Texture_modding Enjoy! Edit: There are links to tools on the page. Here is a little recap of what is possible and what isn't: Detailed Guide by Flashtoo What you can do: Change some aspects of existing graphics that you find undesirable (e.g. if you don't like the built-in lipstick on the female Steampunk and Sci-Fi faces you can remove it). Remove effects that you dislike from the game by replacing them with "blank" images. Replace a graphic with a completely different one, if you don't mind it being replaced across the board - I remember that back on Live there were some people who replaced the female "Leather" top-with-skin with the Carnie corset this way, before players were given access to it as its own costume piece. What you cannot do: Increase texture resolution. Altered textures will not render unless they have the same pixel dimensions as the original. Add new effects, such as glowing or mirror-shine, to items that did not have them before. Add new costume parts or base items. Without access to the game's code, we can only overwrite what is already there.

I noticed while ToT, the vampire accuracy debuffs last too long. Before I quit the game, the accuracy debuff was still listed as being a status effect, even though over 5 minutes had gone by since I finished that fight. Even after I was defeated and went to the hospital, I still had the status on me. I was playing a level 10 stone/energy tank.

I could see that as an option that auto-disables when you are in combat.

This is really cool. The only problem I could see about it is that I don't think Rikti models are very customizable. You'd be pretty stuck with a set number of variations from the game. This is another Primary Set I would like to see: Primary Set - Communications 1 - Laser Burst - Ranged damage (Energy) 2 - Monkeys - Summon Rikti monkeys from a portal. These are controllable minions. 3 - Laser Blast - Ranged damage (Energy) 4 - Equip Troops - Equip HenchRikti 5 - Thermal Grenades - Ranged (AoE) damage (Energy) 6 - Drone - Summon Rikti drones from a portal. These are controllable minions. 7 - Defend Troops - Force field giving DEF boost 8 - Conscripts - Summon Rikti Conscript from a portal. This is a controllable minion. 9 - Bleeding Edge - Upgrade henchRikti

Yes, privacy was very important when I was thinking of this. Not only are the characters unconnected to the actual users (or global handles), but also hides some of the stalker-ish information (like last login date, last location, hours played). I'd like to know from the rest of the player base if it should be an opt-in or opt-out option.

How about adding a character compendium where we can see all characters across the different servers. This could be a good tool when you get inspired by a character name or concept and want to see if it's already in use. It would also be useful to check if you and your friends qualify for taskforces or events when not in game. I realize a real-time list might tax the game servers, but it could be generated by an SQL dump at 3am (or whenever the servers are least busy). The character list could be searchable, filterable, and would include: Character name Archetype Origin Level Creation date Supergroup affiliation Alignment Game server Clicking on a character could also show: Titles Powers selected Achievements and badges Auction house and crafting statistics What wouldn't be displayed: Player, player id, or global handle associated Last time character was active Hours played Costume (due to complexity) If the list is still too huge, we could ignore characters under level 10. For added privacy, we could have an opt-out, either character-wise or account-wise. What do you all think? Did I miss anything?

We have a pretty passionate player base here. This suggestion is for both the community and the Homecoming team. How about recording voice-overs for mission descriptions? We could find some volunteers from the community who would like to record some NPC dialog lines. I don't think it would be too hard to add a script that plays an audio file when a mission window comes up.

power customization Power Customization Suggestion: Illusion Control
drdread replied to Zepp's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It would be neat if the phantasms could duplicate the creator's costume. Essentially making illusionary doubles of the hero/villain.
