Saturday May 18, 2024, 7:30pm EST on Excelsior Game Show Starts at 8:00pm Studio A1 We are finally ready to open our Game Show base to the public. Though the base is not entirely complete (there's still lots to be built and decorate) we wanted to celebrate to 20th anniversary of City of Heroes! We have plans for more game shows as you will se more than one studio in the base. That's right! This is a functioning game show! Players will be chosen to play games with us The games are real; the prizes are real. All you have to do is show up in your most outlandish costume you can create. This is not a costume contest but if you want to be called up to play well, you need to stand out! How does the game work? At the start of the game, six players will be selected to come to the front of the stage. There, they will be presented with some items in which they must bid on its value. The contestant that bids the closest, without going over. The player not only wins the items but gets to come up on stage to potentially win MORE! After the player has completed the game onstage, we will call on another player to fill the open spot at the front of the stage. There are some simple requests we have for those who decide to join us. Please turn off all powers and auras. Please no pets. Please do not go past the front row unless called upon. Please do not send tells to the game show staff. We will be REAL busy. Please have REQUEST chat channel on. We will use this to communicate to you all. PLEASE HAVE FUN! If you want to voice what you think the contestant should choose, use these emotes: /e score1 /e score2 /e score3 I want to take a moment to thank all the players who helped us get this going. I want to thank our base builder who worked more hours than I can imagine, to build something so wonderful. I also want to thank all the players who donated to the games played in Atlas Park, Costume Contests, and other events, your generosity did not go unnoticed. Thanks to all the players who have played games with us. It is because of your excitement and enthusiasm that this base was built. It is for you. We most of all want to thank the Homecoming Staff for keeping the lights on. If you were not here, then we would not be here. Oh yeah, you're going to need this pass code: MONTY-27905 So, LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

Incarnate shards was/is another method for create incarnate components and thus incarnate powers. It's confusing to use and most players use incarnate threads. You could use incarnate shards to create Alpha components if you really want to. Personally I ignore them and just convert the threads. I believe you get 5 thread per 10 shards? I wouldn't spend inf on converting. Here is a link to the wiki. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Incarnate_Shard_Component

Its so hard to pick a character to fully invest in
Monty Haull replied to Damoklese's topic in General Discussion
Just avoid the pet options. With that, there is something to said about non-mastermind pets. If you want a basic fire and forget pet then consider an SOA Crabbermind. You get the benefit of pets but virtually no headache of management. With double leadership pools you can be almost a tanker. -
If it didn't stop at 2bn, meaning you can still claim it on AH, then it's gone. I never market with a toon even close to 2bn. Too easy to fat finger something and lose a lot. I suggest emailing some of that to another toon for safe keeping.

You can get by the 10 minute recharge rate by only taking/having one Experienced booster in your inventory. Activate it, then grab another from your email, activate it. No waiting.

Fungible: being something (such as money or a commodity) of such a nature that one part or quantity may be replaced by another equal part or quantity in paying a debt or settling an account.

Character was reset...due to copywritten costume? WTF?

Thank you for explaining it. It was one of those people had mentioned but I didn't get it. -
Character was reset...due to copywritten costume? WTF?
Monty Haull replied to Niizzy's topic in General Discussion
There is a lot to unpack here and I think some miscommunication. I used the Monty Hall name over a year ago, like August of 2022. I responding to the idea that the copyright enforcement was not a new thing. Hate to say it, I am not a huge DnD player so, I don't get the trope you are speaking of. I was doing an homage to game show hosts. I did not make Money Mouse. I know Money Mouse from Tundra Mouse. She has a mouse theme going on. I asked her to help me out since my time online for Monty is a little less these days. I don't believe I am in any hot water. I have been around enough GMs while in game, and my presence here should be proof of that. If there IS a concern I would be happy to make adjustments. I don't think I am doing anything wrong here. I am paying homage to game show hosts and having fun with the players. It's a win win. -
Character was reset...due to copywritten costume? WTF?
Monty Haull replied to Niizzy's topic in General Discussion
Funny you should asked. My name was spelled like the great game show host and I was promptly stripped and renamed. Though my costume strip was on error as there is no copyright for it, I did choose a different spelling of the name. That happen well over a year ago so, it's not a new thing. -

As others have said it's not a new thing. It can happen if you are not careful. Ask me how I know. 🙂 -
Problems, Complaints, Suggestions Re: Base Editor
Monty Haull replied to Dacy's topic in Base Construction
I would like to have the ability to group objects. The grouping could be temporary, like a multi selection then, be able to move that selection as one unit. Creating a duplicate of the selection would be great. I would like to be able to select an object and have the ability to insert another by a hot key or something like that. This would save time having to go find it. Another thing I would like to have is: when I click on an object, the information window would tell me how it is attached, floor, surface, ceiling. More information about object would be helpful. Like, it is size or if it designed for inside or outside base use. Can we filter on that? Maybe add information about where the "handles" are. The point where your mouse holds the object when moving it. I don't hate the editor it can be difficult at times. Being magically teleported back to the base when I am at the bottom or the top of the map is very annoying. What causes this? Edit: Oh yeah, favorites. Can we get favorites? Or the last few items we inserted so we can quicky add them again -
I have made a glass floor and discovered the same as you. So, a few ideas all of which are a PITA. You place a surface tile of equal size, upside-down. You could do a partial inset of an object into the glass then place to object on top. This happened to me when trying to put a counter on top of a glass floor. You will find the doorways have to be butterflied as well. We are using the editor outside of its designed parameters and we are paying for it.

I felt inspired by @Rush-InRoulette post on the record player. I felt I should contribute in a similar way. So, yesterday I came up with this idea for a custom bar top beer cooler. The following components were used to create this: Bar Counter 2 (Straight) - 1 required, 3 shown Grocery Cooler - 1 Stall Panel 2ft - 2 Stall Panel 1ft - 4 Pint Glass Assorted beer You do need to embed the counter and the cooler into the wall. Keep in mind of what is on the other side. I raised the cooler up a little to show a shelf. Place the stall wall on each side of the inside portion of the cooler. The best was to do this is to first disable grid size (F1). The attach the stall wall via surface (F6) to the top of the cooler. Then use shift key to bring the stall wall down. You of course need to line up the stall wall to match of the inner wall of the cooler. It will take a few tries. Below is how they would look outside of the cooler. Stall wall are great because you can make them any color you like. Enjoy

From 0 to full build using the Market - An example
Monty Haull replied to Lyrium's topic in The Market
As Yomo had said, buying a few is not recommended. You can expect, on average, 1.2 ATOs per pack. Meaning you could get 2 ATOs, 1 ATO or, 0 ATOs. Best to buy a lot to cover yourself.
