I'll be skipping Shardtober as I'm not a fan of the shard TFs and will be pretty busy next month. For next week, I'll try to be there on Bug Buddy - Empathy/Sonic Defender
-
I can't speak to the other powers you're referring to, but Teleport Target, Incan TP, etc. are covered already. You can turn it off in your settings (I think), or when you first get invited to a team, it's the first little checkbox under the buttons to click on. But in general I agree that being able to turn off group fly at your character rather than visiting Null would be great. It would be cool if GF could make that little pop up tray come up and you have the option to turn it off or something.
-
You need to be more specific than that. Ranged what? Blaster? Defender? Corruptor? Dominator? Controller? Which powersets? JJ is talented, but I don't think he can read your mind. 😉
-
Again, as said, MSR's are widely considered a group fly friendly activity. They and Hami raids are one of the few things where it's acceptable to leave it running regardless. This is outside of the greater general point that group fly is not required to play an MM well, and that it would not have been that detrimental for the OP to have complied and just turned it off when asked.
-
Electric Affinity is largely considered made for MM's and performs very well on them, but yes, it takes time and building it to get it there, as well as learning how to maximize your stacks by staying in your electric dome and getting the most out of your chains. It's also knowing that just because a power is available, it doesn't mean you have to click it. Lots of people call this set busy, and it can be, but if you have a solid team, you don't have to be constantly pushing those buttons until they're needed. (I see Neiska beat me to some of this. 🙂 ) I, personally, like Sonic, but I think that's partly because it's a bit underrated, and it's an older set that could use a smidge of attention. It has no heal, so it works well with henchmen that have their own heal (unless you don't care about resummoning). You're obviously not going to have defender levels of -res going around, but every little bit helps. But I tend to be a concept player; I like to play things that fit my concept for a character. I'm not into hard modes or anything like that, so I'm not looking to min/max all my characters. For casual play, whichever fits your concept best should be fine. But don't underestimate ElecAff; it is a fantastic set, even on MMs.

This thread started about TF's not MSR's. MSR's and Hami are the exception to the rule and well known as group fly friendly events. This does not make the argument you think it does for regular game play. It is entirely possible to play a fully functional mastermind without group fly, even on MSR. And not having your henchmen out for pylons wouldn't be that detrimental anyway, unless you're running an MSR with hardly any people.

Rocket boots is not enough of a reason to grief other players with group fly. Group fly is not a necessary tool to play an MM well (including bots). If you can not take a modicum of responsibility for your actions and how they affect others, and acknowledge that all of our time playing this game is valuable (you are hardly the only casual player with limited playing time), then you're going to find yourself getting booted quite a bit.
-
I do not understand the logic that you and the OP are using that bots are somehow ineffective if you can't be in the air flying with them. Bodyguard mode is a thing (which probably won't get used in a TF if you're flying anyway and having to command the bots to attack), so you gain some survivability there. You also have a secondary with which to be supporting them as well as your go-to command, which keeps you in bodyguard mode and allows you to position your henchmen where you need them so they can still survive and DPS. Group fly is not the only way to play a bots MM.
-
Using group fly to keep your bots out of melee range of an AV or any mob is absolutely not a requirement and having it doesn't somehow make you superior. There are numerous ways to keep your bots out of range, one of which is the go-to command. Bots are not required to be in the air to stay at range. The fact that you refuse to acknowledge any part you could have played to be in the wrong is not winning you any favors in this thread, on top of making statements like this that somehow imply group fly is a requirement to play bots well. Let's be honest; the main reason some bots players take group fly is because bots getting rocket boots is amusing, not because it's necessary.

Powerset feedback: Angel Summoning
TygerDarkstorm replied to Wingslord24's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Do they? I was under the impression they only shield themselves and their MM. If they do, in fact, shield others, then I retract my previous statements. -

I mean, it's up to the devs, but given the cottage rule and general means of doing things, you're probably not going to see a henchmen casting a power that affects other players. However, they could have a buff that affects all henchmen and their mastermind, which has precedence in both the demons and bots primaries. Considering blast/damage sets don't typically affect allies, I can't imagine we'll start seeing that with MM's either. -
Powerset feedback: Angel Summoning
TygerDarkstorm replied to Wingslord24's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
There's no precedence for it in any MM primary that I can think of. MM's have support secondaries, which is the place for ally affecting powers to go. MM primaries are essentially our "blast" set; those typically lack in ally affecting powers. -

TygerDarkstorm replied to Wingslord24's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
There's always a tier 1 upgrade power and a tier 2 upgrade power. Your tier 1 upgrade power, Blessing of Grace, isn't a true henchmen upgrade because you're trying to have it affect allies. MM primaries don't really work that way; you need to remove the allies component and then it would make sense and fit in as an MM primary power and the first tier upgrade. -
I use a mouse pad even though I technically don't need one since I use a Logitech MXErgo; however, my wrist needed some extra support, so I got a cheap pad with the wrist cushion on it.

Ghostcrawler Calls Streamlined Leveling in MMORPGs a Mistake
TygerDarkstorm replied to Lunar Ronin's topic in Video Games
As a former WoW player, I find it odd to find myself agreeing with Ghostcrawler, lol. But I do agree with him on this. At least for me, personally. I am definitely more of a person who enjoys the leveling process of an MMO. I'm an ADHD altoholic. I did the raiding scene for a while in my WoW days; but I have a hard time spending so much time and focus on only one character. And the fact that CoH practically encourages being an altoholic is a lot of the fun for someone like me. There's enough variety in the leveling path to keep things interesting, and I have very little interest in the "end game" stuff, though I am glad it's there for those who do like that sort of thing. That's one area I found superbly lacking with SWTOR when my friends and I tried that on its release; the leveling path was all the same & extremely linear. -
Using ChatGPT or whatever to keep generating these statements is doing nothing to help your argument. You are again failing to understand what this game is at its core. Nothing that you're using from your AI generations is unique or different from what already exists in the game that you refuse to use your imagination for.
-
They're using ChatGPT again to spit out these generic non-statements that don't mean anything other than they're desperate for something to be named/say "magic."

Sorting and filtering at character select
TygerDarkstorm replied to OverkillEngine's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
To be fair, I'm also assuming what I mentioned is what the OP is referring to. I do like the spreadsheet idea you and UltraAlt have mentioned, which I will implement at some point more just to have an easier visual on my many, many alts & to keep track of which AT's and combos I have. But yeah, being able to have the character select screen have a filter option to order all my characters by level, that would be awesome. -
I wish I would have realized this was an AI generated post. I'm so not familiar with how things like ChatGPT work as I've never dabbled in them, but that would explain why the post is written the way it is and why it comes across exactly like you said: like these are groundbreaking new ideas and behaving as if they don't already exist in the game.

Sorting and filtering at character select
TygerDarkstorm replied to OverkillEngine's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
What formula are you using to calculate the archetype? I like this idea for keeping track of how many of each AT I have and which powersets. I use Excel for work, but my brain isn't coming up with the formula you might be doing for this on its own. If you don't mind sharing, that is. 🙂 -
Sorting and filtering at character select
TygerDarkstorm replied to OverkillEngine's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The filters are handy, but not quite as useful as a permanent filter option that would let me sort my characters by level and have my list stay that way/be able to reset it when it decides to randomly go wonky and move my characters all over. Sorting it by hand is a pain in the ass. -
What this post tells me is that you don't seem to understand what City of Heroes/Villains *is*. You're asking for stuff that already exists in the game, but for some reason you're so desperate for it to say "magic," which has been explained in ad nauseam for why you won't be seeing this. Not to mention, you're looking for this to all be entirely one powerset? I can't see that happening. You're not going to get a blast, control, and support all in one powerset. Again, it seems you lack a fundamental idea of how this game works. Powersets offering things like debuffs, buffs, DoT's, etc. already exist in this game. Nothing about what you've posted is unique other than your feeling the need to slap the magicky terminology in there instead of making this game's already wildly open and free concepts work to what you want. Just say CoX isn't for you and find a game that fits within what you're looking for--this is not a fantasy game.
