So, I am about to get my first 50 since over a decade ago, and that terrifies me! I was never very good at making builds, and things like Mids sort of confuse me. However, I want to learn how to understand building a character instead of just asking for somebody to hand me a build and me still not really understanding what it all means and not being able to build future characters. I think all this is why I have so many alts and no 50's... getting to the end game and trying to figure everything out is scary! That said, I still don't have a patron power thing-a-majig because... well, I don't really know anything about them; i.e. how to get them, which one to pick, etc. I don't know anything about alphas or what to do there when my MM hits 50. I went chill mastery for theme; not sure if it's good or not. I have every power in the cold powerset as I was not familiar with it, so not sure if anything there is skippable. I find the only power I don't much use out of is Frostwork. And I only have 2 pool powers - Leadership and Speed. I know I probably should go Fighting and get Tough/Weave, but I'm already so toggle and end heavy as-is, I didn't want to add more to it yet. So, with Sara Falin at level 47, I hope some of you friendly and helpful folks that are far more knowledged than myself at this stuff can help me learn how to build this character so that I may no longer feel scared about getting my toons to the level 40+ range out of fear that people will figure out I don't really know what I'm doing. 😅 And thank you in advance for any/all help provided.

If you like a fast and in your face kind of playstyle, beast/kin is a really fun pairing. Mine is level 37 I think, and while she has mostly teamed, I have done some solo stuff on her and didn't think it was too bad (granted, I don't play at +4/x8) given that she's only lightly slotted. Beasts are pretty tanky, so they handle running with /kin nicely. I also have a beasts/nature, but she's only in her teens, and a beasts/thermal in her 20's. Thermal feels like a pretty nice compliment to beasts, though it's a bit passive compared to /kin. Beasts/storm sounds like fun. 😄

Fun! I picked up the idea for a dark/EA controller from... @oedipus_tex I believe it was... elsewhere on these forums. I thought it worked with this cheesy name I came up with years ago as a teen without being as literal as my first attempt at it. I've never played dark control; it's a fun set with a really neat toolkit, and like Tex said, it has some nice synergy with ElecAff, which is a set I love to play anyway. 🙂 Now to see if I can finish the grind to 50 on Sara for next Saturday. xD Which scares me a bit because even though I played on live, trying to make builds and figure out sets and such is just new and intimidating for me as I didn't play much in the IO era of the game. Idk what the patron stuff really is or which of the APP thingies to take, lol. Incarnates, alpha.... I'm a bit overwhelmed 😅

*pants* Ok, I did it. I wasn't liking how dark blast was playing on my original corruptor idea, so on Everlasting I rolled a dark/EA controller and have spent the last few days trying my damndest to get her up to level 35 (which is hard for me y'all! Idk how to only focus on 1 character, lol), and I did it! And got her moved over to Indom so she's ready for tomorrow morning. I also have Sara Falin's name reserved on Indom while I level her over on Everlasting (easier to level there since the pop is higher and there's always stuff like PI teams and MSR's going on) and she's at level 33. Now that Tyger is at level, time to see if I can grind up Sara and Fire's Embrace. xD Anyway, point of this being that I will still be on Tyger Darkstorm tomorrow, but now as a dark/ElecAff troller 😅

I, personally, feel like many types of "hand-me-downs" can be considered heirlooms if they hold some special value to the person holding on to them. 🙂 Many things that have been handed down for multiple generations are often considered heirlooms as well.

Um, that's kind of a good question, really, haha. 😅 I honestly think that whatever you would want to think of as an heirloom could be one. Not the right age group, but sometimes baptism dresses for infants are considered heirloom-like items. My thought behind this is that most of the products offered would not be fashion-forward (i.e. following current trends, etc.). Because these theoretical garments will be sustainably and ethically made, they're intended to be more like timeless classics--pieces intended to be hung on to, repaired, repurposed, passed down, etc. And with your wedding gown example, even those go in and out of season! 😛 There are many wedding gowns from like, the 1980's that most women probably wouldn't want to wear now without heavily altering them, haha. I know that's not a great way to answer your question (and it's a great question!), but I hope that it helps.

I finally came up with names for my pets on my demon/cold MM, Sara Falin. Demon Prince - Russia. Because he's the biggest and tallest demon and she can see him from her house. 😜 Demons - Republican & Party Demonlings - Alaska, Freedom, and Justice

If it's like our fire theme, it just means that at least 1 powerset on your AT/character of choice should be dark. So your dark/fire blaster would be fine. Whether you choose to theme the costume and powers is up to you. 🙂 We had green and blue fire with us today.

Well, had been wanting to do energy melee on a tanker after seeing Sir Myshkin got some decent damage out of it with procs, but not paired with Invuln. I already follow @Camel's guide for a fire/dark controller that's fun, so here I've gone and rolled a FA/EM tanker to try this guide as well. 😄

On Everlasting I was surprised to get Howling Shadow for my Dark/Sonic Defender (he's a werewolf), Polly Shockit (Elec/EA Controller; play on 90's toy Polly Pocket), Energizer Bunnie (Energy/Energy Blaster who is a pink bunny), Lil Bo Peep (Staff/Energy Aura Stalker), and the name I was most surprised to get was Bio Warfare for my AR/Bio Sent that I rolled for the random idea thread. -
I made Apocalyptica a younger sister by the name of Apocawolf. She's a beasts/thermal MM and is 10 years old and a hero (whereas her sister is a villain). Apocawolf started down the same path her sister did, but couldn't bring herself to go that far into the occult after seeing it completely overtake her sister. Anyway, this has led to her pets not really seeming very threatening but being given a little kid's equivalent of "scary" sounding names. Her Howler Wolves are Scary, Meanie, and Fright. Her Lions are Beast and Demon. Her Dire Wolf will be named Hell Hound when she gets him.

@oodadoo I consider ghosts to be undead, personally, at least in this context. Not sure what else you would consider them. Your blaster looks great!

Ok, so I realized I wouldn't want to roll an EAT for this as I already have 1 of each, so I did my rolls based off of Terror's initial list without them. AT: 72 - Sentinel Primary: 8 - Assault Rifle Secondary: 6 - Bio Armor So one of the best armor sets in the game with one of the worst blast sets, lol. Let's do this. I was kind of surprised how quickly a concept came to me for this character; to the point I couldn't fit her whole bio in it so I'll have to go back and tweak it. Meet Ramiel Fenton, aka Bio Warfare (still can't believe I got that name). Former army soldier Ramiel Fenton had limped her way into Frozen Felonies for a sweet treat to try and take her mind off her pain and depression after having been honorably discarged. Little did she know that day would change her fate. An energy beam blew through the building, knocking Ramiel off her feet and throwing her against a wall. She awoke a few days later in the Atlas Park hospital, trying to make sense of what the nurses were babbling at her. She waved them away to give herself a chance to think. Taking stock of her body, she didn't notice too many injuries... In fact, she didn't feel any pain at all, not even in the bummed leg that had gotten her discharged from the army in the first place! She did feel different after the incident at Frozen Felonies... Her body almost tingled with life and energy, her skin capable of hardening into a sort of biological armor at will. In disbelief and excitement, Ramiel left the hospital, excited to be able to protect and serve once again, this time as one of the superheroes of Paragon City. She dubbed herself Bio Warfare.

Howling Twilight does not need a team to be useful; its debuffs are plenty useful on their own and the power should be getting used regularly! It's an autohit stun to all mobs around your target that also provides a hefty amount of -regen (which I believe stacks with the big bot's -regen).

Sorry for the spam; been reading through this and trying to play around with the rolls and such while in class, and are we supposed to roll like this to make a decimal number? Or does 1 roll yielding a single, whole number work as well? And I forgot to use the full list including the epic AT's, so my original roll (using https://rollthedice.online/en/dice/d100 and just a single, whole number) yielded: 59 - Corruptor 26 - Dark Blast 14 - Electric Affinity I already have a dark/EA controller, so I may try rolling again.
