My avatar there is Polly Shockit, my Elec/EA troller. I know Elec/* is considered kinda low damage compared to some other troller primaries, but it fit my theme and I team a lot, so I'm not too troubled by that as the character has been generally well-liked in teams. My recent SBB group really loved her because with minimal effort (as in, I'm not slotted for sapping), I had the AV's completely drained of end; sure, we still had to take the alpha and some attacks while they got drained, but it kept us from being completely overwhelmed and gave time to patch up. Not that sapping is necessarily my goal with her. Anyway, point being, I find Elec/EA go well together if you're not planning to do a lot of solo work. I love the utility that Polly brings to a team comp, and that between the two sets, I'm not totally struggling with end (/EA can be kind of heavy on your end, and even though it has a power that returns end, you can never be the first person in the chain to get the biggest benefit, and it costs a crapload of end to cast).

A few of my recent additions: Howling Shadow; Dark/Sonic Defender The Botanical Pathogen; Plant/Poison Controller Force Shifter; Beam/Force Field Corruptor Freesia Dark; Dark/Dark Dominator The Human Mosquito; Water (colored to look like blood)/Sonic (from the sound they make buzzing around) Corruptor. Thinking of picking up the Experimentation pool as a play on the "diseases" aspect of mosquitoes since I didn't want to go Poison. This character is currently on Indom, but if I like her enough, I may do the concept over on Everlasting too to RP with. -
Wow, Cerulean-Scarab and Fire Bee look amazing! Here's Human Mosquito:

Eeeee, @Midnyte I love the pics you captured! Nice to see other views of our complete chaos. 😄

Apologies these aren't more prettified, I was trying to grab some screenies from the chaos that was our all MM Numina. All that pet madness was an absolute blast, and I'm glad I was able to tag along and be apart of the group. 🙂 I think my favorite is the pic I caught of the TT coming in to pick up 8 MM's and 48 pets. 😆 For next week's themed TF I (@Valnara1) will be bringing The Human Mosquito, Water/Sonic Corruptor

Oh man, I'm not the only one who plays like this? Here after everything I keep reading about bodyguard mode here and "tankerminding" I have been feeling like I'm MM'ing wrong. 😅 I like to team up a lot, and yeah, most times, bodyguard is pretty useless in a team unless I decide to be the one charging in so that I'll get attacked and it'll trigger the pets to attack back. But, frankly, that's not always that feasible to do, especially as my MM's aren't incarnated out level 50's; they're babies leveling up. I have the numbad binds set up for each MM and use them to swap modes on my pets depending on the situation, as well as whether to attack my target, follow, etc. If I can get away with it, I run them on aggressive; really easy for the ranged pets as they're probably not in position to pull too many extra groups, little bit harder on the melee pets, especially my beast/kin who's pets run at breakneck speed. Requires some stance dancing on the pets and hanging back slightly between mobs to make sure they're not the ones running off and pulling. I'm also not above releasing them and resummoning them in a TF if we're trying to carefully jump around mobs (think last mish of Posi 1 or 2 as you first hit the dam)--yes, it's a lot of end, but worth it not to be that person that pulled a bunch of extra mobs because pet AI is dumb and can't skirt mobs like I can. But yeah, I try to play like Sable here when on a team and am glad to see I'm not the only one who notices their pets standing around too much in bodyguard mode while on teams so throws 'em on aggressive.

Roll a gravity dominator and feel even more blastery (especially if you go grav/energy)! 😄

If you're not sold on this combo being a controller (as ice control is not real great in the current game), this combo is quite fun as either an Ice/Nature Corruptor or Nature/Ice Defender. I went corruptor on mine for scourging rains, but I imagine the defender version is just as fun.

Yeah, her representing Lust is probably a good way to cover it. I hadn't thought about it too much other then, at the time when I named them, I didn't want to put it on a demon because I didn't like it for one of the pets or something, I don't remember, lol. 😅 I haven't fully done her backstory yet, but I like the idea of her being Lust since she's a human who was drawn into some sort of cult-like situation, so I can say she lusted for the power to bring about ultimate chaos or something. Oh, I love that for the Lich! I named him Grinch because of the 1st tier pets, but now I'm going to rename him Please. 😄 Thank you for the inspiration!

Is it possible to merge all content?
TygerDarkstorm replied to Judasace's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Idk if you're on a low-pop server, but this is certainly not true for all the servers. I play on Everlasting and the LFG chat has groups forming for redside and even *gasp* goldside on a near daily basis (the goldside groups are a little rarer, but still). I have also not witnessed it being an issue getting a group of 6-8 people together for the weekly SF's, and when I do pop over redside to play some of my alts, I have noticed even more people in Mercy Island that appear to be leveling up their toons via missions. There is nothing stopping you from using the LFG chat to form your own group for any of the content you desire to run, be it red, gold, or blue. Sure, the time of the day will affect how many people might be around and willing to do something, but chances are if you put out the call, people will answer. And like others have said, Null the Gull exists, in part, to help close the "gap" between people not playing content. People starting in Praetoria may not be able to leave until level 20, but if they're looking for company, there's nothing stopping blue and redsiders from joining them. Same goes for doing stuff on redside; there are more people than you think that are rogue/vigilante and willing to hop sides to help out/do content. Others have already explained why many people don't/won't play redside so I won't touch that, but the system Homecoming has implemented seems fine as is, and if there's anything I've learned from games like WoW just merging stuff and making things that seem arbitrary--like sides--irrelevant, it usually just makes things worse and more bland. I like the way CoX handles these things right now; if you got rid of alignments completely, what would be the point of heroes and villains then? For me, the game would lose a lot of its flavor. I think having the tip missions, opening up the AT's to be available to create for both sides, and null the gull for those who want to switch sides immediately/before you get tip missions, makes the content more available to everyone, while still maintaining the theme of heroes and villains, but now with rogue/vigilante flavor. -
Sadly, I don't. 😞 I have the worst memory ever, and with the game shutting down I probably didn't think much about not remembering stuff from it because I never thought I would see the game again. That's why I was asking to see if anyone here recognized my old main. I can kind of vaguely see some stuff from back then in my mind, but can't put names to any of it. 😞 They're on the tip of my tongue but won't come to me.

No, I don't. That computer has long since been history and I wouldn't have thought to transfer any of those files between computers.

So, I'm still leveling her, but I'm going to plug my psy/fire sentinel. @oldskool already wrote up a lovely post about psychic blast and what the likely optimal secondaries are, so I won't touch any of that. And again, take my thoughts on my choice with a grain of salt; I haven't tested this at level 50 or anything, I'm not a min/maxer, and making builds is not something I fully understand yet, so there may be a reason why my sent's combo is a bit of a unicorn. But somebody asked this question on reddit a while back and there were some others in agreement with the decision, so here we go. I wanted to try a psychic blast character and like the way the set looked on sentinels compared to the other AT's, and knowing that psy damage can be resisted pretty strongly in the later game, wanted to make sure I was thoughtful about my secondary. I'm sure bio is probably one of the most obvious choices, but I'm kind of over it and don't like the way it looks, even on min FX unless I have a character concept that fits it. I stumbled across fiery aura, saw the T2: Molten Embrace (increases the damage of all your attacks while also adding a chance for a small fire DoT--this power replaces the damage aura the melee classes get). Much of the other powers I'm familiar with from my FA brute, but Molten Embrace seemed like the compliment psychic blast needs. I am sure the secondaries given by oldskool may be better in many ways, but FA fit my character's concept and, so far, seems like a pretty good mesh for psy blast, though this sent likely won't be as tough as my fire/rad sent (who has helped tank a couple of TF's as she's leveling) without serious investment. I haven't soloed with her in a bit, and she's been a bit stalled at level 20, though that's mostly because I have a serious case of altitis and sometimes the slow animation times of psy turn me off, but I like my little unicorn sent and am curious to see how the powersets continue to work as I get her into later game.

So, I have pretty much the worst memory ever, and for the life of me cannot remember which server I used to play on back on live, nor can I remember specific names of my SG or any of the other big SG's that were around at the time. Maybe the community here can help me out! 😄 Back on live my global was @TigerGoddess and that was also my main (I was a teenager in high school, shhh 😛 ). She was an emp/archery defender, and I started playing around 2006-2007ish, and played off and on from then until about 2011ish. Back in the early days of yore, she was a pure emp healer, though that would have changed as the game progressed with IO's and such and pure healers were not needed any longer. I don't recall doing any task forces back then, just doing missions, the occasional fire farm, and hanging around in Atlas. I remember that there was a big cat people SG that was really famous/popular, though, again, I cannot remember their name for the life of me even though kid me kind of idolized them, lol. So if you recognize my name, please give me a shout out (and maybe help remind my poor 30 year old brain that can't retain info what server was my home 😅), and my apologies in advance if I don't remember you! For some reason, the names of the people I once knew in this game have just completely escaped my brain,I guess because I thought I'd never see it again and had left it for other MMO's, idk. I can't even remember any of my alts!

I don't have any high level dominators yet, as I am slow to level and an altoholic, and like you said, fun is subjective, but here's my 2 inf: My grav/energy dom is probably my most fun dom so far. She's only level 22 and I've mostly only teamed with her, but she's just a blast (harhar) to play! Grav feels a bit like a blasty set, and then I make things go boom with energy and even at her lowish level she feels like she's putting out a fair amount of damage compared to some of my other doms. My elec/earth dom is probably my second most fun. Even without end mods slotted she does a pretty good job draining mobs and earth assault just feels like it's hitting things really hard (and for me, the sound effects and visuals are immensely satisfying). And she's both team and solo friendly. I have a fire/martial at 25 that is just sort of collecting dust; she's a total end whore and even though the combo has seemed fun at times, I can't solo much with her and have not found the combo as fun lately even on teams. Could be that I'm playing her wrong or the combo just doesn't click for me anymore. Would love to find a good primary for martial that I feel I can stick with. Also trying to figure out a good pairing I might like with earth; thinking of trying earth/fire. My other doms are too low level/have too little time invested in them to feel out if they're fun or not, some, like my dark/savage, feel as if they may take a while before they might get there. To me, part of the thing with doms is just learning how to get into their playstyle--that the AoE immob is not really necessary while you're soloing (you really want to invest more in holds/confuses/fears/etc.); that you're often going to be using your secondary as if it were your primary; that you're not looking to spam your controls, just lock mobs down enough to beat them up and "arrest" them, one by one if need be. While I've grown to love doms, especially if I get on a team with a Kin or ElecAff user for that +recharge bringing my lowbie doms closeish to permadom, it's still got a bit of a learning curve that I have to remind myself how to play. Which is probably why I like my grav/energy so much because she plays more like a blapper than a confused troller, lol.

Some of my other undead characters that have (so far) stuck around: TrypTych; Necro/Thermal MM Alana the Wraith; Dark/Shield Scrapper; Captured and forced into a semi-physical form by the Resistance to be used as a weapon against the Loyalists. The Feral Lich; Dark/Savage Dom
-
That sounds like fun! I'll have to start thinking about dark powersets to work on. 🙂
-
Oh yes, those discussions are always amusing! I was TrypTych on last night's MSR when we were joking about age-related stuff.
-
Similar; I turn 31 in January

Moved my beast/kin who was level 31 over to Indom for Saturday the 12th. 🙂 Then did a few missions and a Moonfire TF on her and got Kincatic up to 34, so I should have no problem having her ready, lol. Though if we have another beast/kin user I'm happy to level up a different combo.
-
Um, but that's just it, it's not a setting, that's just how the game works by default. If you start targeting random players in like, Atlas Park you'll see what I mean. Shoot, if you run DFB over the max level for each area, you will see your level turn orange to the corresponding level you've been exemped to on your HUD.
-
Well, the game actually tells you if someone is being exemped down or not, so that shouldn't really be an assumption. If you click on a player and their level shows as white/grey (whatever the default color is), then that's their actual level. If it's blue, they either haven't trained or are being sidekicked/malefactored. If it's orangey-red, they're being exemped down.
