I would think sentinels would more closely compare to defenders as far as overall damage output. Do you have access to those numbers?

slightly less durability than scrapper/stalker and dmg is on par with... defender I'm guessing? I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting some kind of overhaul but nothing to get inflamed about... first world problems sheesh!

Very minor inconveniences and I was able to complete the test build anyway. I can work much quicker on the older menu in part simply because that is what I'm used to. No complaints here! Thanks again. -

thank you. One thing I've run into is selecting each incarnate one by one where there used to be a selection to simply "unlock incarnate slots" I appreciate what you're trying to do -

is there a way I can get this menu back to the way it was about a week or so ago? some things are almost completely inaccessible as I run out of screen trying to nav through the options and cannot find the "misc" options with the freebies macro tray button etc... -
So there’s some posts basically saying the whole AT is up for an overhaul at some point? ”Oldskool Beatdown” is the name of a brute I’ve teamed with recently. Thought maybe that was you.

It’s all very much appreciated. I realize there’s debates but I’m more curious to learn what was intended by the developers than to make up my own mind what it’s supposed to be - which of course would be tanker durability with blaster damage 😉 I made a build on beta that has fire cages and whirlpool in place of KO and Crosspunch - I’ll test it more later. I’m curious. Do you play oldskool beatdown?

Playing with the idea of swapping KO Blow and Crosspunch for whirlpool and fire cages... might make for better tank magery?

First thing I would say is - you really seem to know your stuff 🙂 This isn’t the order that I would take a lot of these selections. yes whirlpool isn’t something I want to use without something to keep the mobs in it. I haven’t started leveling this build yet so things like cross punch might well show up much sooner than is shown in the mids build. if you have a build worked up I’d love to see it. thanks for the replies - I like this as a concept but no doubt I could easily have my mind changed on some things. If I wanted Uber damage I’d probably just roll another blaster - I have several already i also have a few tanks and a couple buffer/debuffers sentinel is supposed to be somewhere in between these, correct? Im not entirely sure how a “good” sentinel actually fills their role well. mid the end result is something different and fun then I’ll call it a success.

was playing an elec/bio and enjoying around lvl 34 currently. Just from appearances though, I kept thinking water blast might look and feel more like the right choice for me. quickly worked up a build. Have plenty to work with but thought I'd post what I have here and see if there's anymore interesting thoughts to be had on it. waterbio - Sentinel (Water Blast).mxd

Share a mids build with the class? sounds like some of us could learn a thing or 12 from it...

It does and works out great on AVs and such. Beam however, only has overcharge for a good aoe. Cutting beam just doesn't cut it for me so rolled as rad/fire and enjoy it much more.

I don't think you understood this particular statement. Zero procs are needed for this to be an effective adjustment to the toggle, if correctly implemented. It's a suggestion for a change to the way the power works, not in how to slot it as it currently stands. -

How would I handle it? I would leave it the way it is and not worry about it. Personally, I laugh when I hit Aim, Build Up with tactics running on one of my blasters and miss a snipe on a -1 foe. I would miss missing like that. I was merely attempting to suggest something less than a 100% auto hit type resolution. Consider this reply as me editing my first post to say.... Is it not possible to make reduced damage "partial hits"? And isn't say 95.1%-99.9% also an option? Great example with the level 50 in Atlas.

Blaster Epic Pool Balance Passes

I'd also like to see more epic options. The thing that seems the strangest to me is Electrical Mastery for example. The first two options for a primarily ranged AT being a cone and a ranged hold - 2 common powers already in many blaster sets. Leviathan Mastery is similar with another cone option. Electric Mastery seems to insist you go over to Mu Mastery with it's taoe immobile option but it also has a skippable cone. Body Armor seems like a huge increase in lethal damage and a small bump to smashing resist would make more sense. As the purpose for epic/patron pools is to fill gaps, Ice Mastery and Power Mastery seem to be two of the most well done to suit the intended purpose. Just my 2inf for the moment. -
Just wondering if anyone knows enough about this kind of thing... how much would it cost to hire someone to port over (and maintain) MIDS to Apple/android or just website based... and would there be enough interest from folks to chip in?

Frustration seems like a strong word in this context. Currently I skip frost breath, breath of fire and cutting beam in all my builds. Fireball for example is great. Maybe one day we can have mechanical power customization and simply select taoe/cone type options on certain powers. I’m sure I’d do the same thing with quite a few others, especially on dark blast set.

I didn’t explain very well what I meant. It’s a short cone and often does not hit what looks like a target that should hit. It’s not all or nothing but I’ve often experienced this. Basically I just greatly prefer an 80’ range taoe over a 40’ cone and think it fits the set much better. Just opinion. I haven’t spent a great deal of time trying out the mods but I followed the steps and tried using several of them - most didn’t seem to work as described, or I simply expected different results than I got. Sorry I can’t be of much help trouble shooting, I do think it’s a great idea and will revisit the program and try some things out again. Thanks for your efforts!
