Posts in the Forums saying " Most expensive build possible wanted for xxx archetype". Try activating a neuron or two, show a scintilla of individual thought and........make your own. That way, you can learn for yourself, what sets work where, how they impact your powers, how your powers actually function effectively together or alone and....you will probably become a better player. The "Most expensive build possible" bit is just the crass superficial cherry on the top of the rest.

I was doing some general reading on forums last night for fun. I dont Tank myself but, found myself readingbstuff in that section and, came across the enormous outporing of love for Energy Melee. 😂😂😂. Man that set has had it BAD! In fact It made me wonder..... Is it even "possible" to be a decent Tank with EM now or do we trully have a "dead" power?

I seem to have bit of a habit of picking powered on my alts that most others don't like or touch much. I have Dark/Dark Scrapper, a combo that's regarded as a bit like the short kid in class who gets overlooked all the time. I have an Illusion / Storm Controller., A combo I have only ever seen on one other player. I have seen diggingbthrough the Tanker section on the forums for useful info on an Inv / EM Tank and it's like the build is almost non-existent.

Newly back in COH In am trying to remember how to do (or in those case how NOT to do) certain things. A level 3 Dark Dark Scrapper heading to my first indoor mission. I try to change up my renown. Weirdly, all mobs in Atlas stay same level. Clearly got it wrong somehow. Walk into the mission and everything is purple😲😲😲. Thought one was to abort, but then I figured, level 3, no debt, lets play this comedy out and see just how bad it can get😂 There was..... Lots of running away, including right out of the door. Rest did not actually GET much rest. Lots of me screaming loudly and desperately at my laptop. I became Paragons biggest Insp junkie. I rediscovered the sad, slow flailing of a missed Shadow Maul😂 But.........I beat the mission and......I did not face plant once doing it. Don't get me wrong, the not dieing was blind bloody luck but......by dragging out all I could remember from the old days about, proximity pulling, neutralizing Gunners and Buckshots, everything, that Dark Dark Scrapper, usually an underrated combo, pulled it off. If I say so myself, I felt pretty damned tough after that. (Probs not doing it again anytime soon though yeah😉,)

This interests me very much😁. My main is Lady Leprechaun, an Illusion / Storm Controller I recreated from back in the day. I know Storm gets it's bad press but, it can be managed to play very effectively when needed or......you can just let your hair down now and again😂. That paring with Water sounds like it could be another fun rollercoaster to ride on. I "may" have My first "new" character😁.

One character I recall was semi legendary back in the day for helping out newbies with advice, in etc was someone called Mother's Love. Anyone else remember this person and know if theybare back in game? Slim chance I know but....would be awesome to reconnect.

I did have a pure empath back in the day, although rarely used her. She was named Harlequin Healer. Only original alt I have not remade since coming back since, it sounds like it would be pointless. Might be nice sometime to maybe do it and team along with a couple of real new babies and just keep them ticking along. Give them a taste of COH "old skool" 😁

Plotting a D/D Defender. 99% of time I will be solo. I get that if soloing I could easily go Blaster and front load the damage but, I just love Defender Controller play. Locking stuff down and cutting it to bits. Also, if I DID ever team I figure the Defender has a tiny bit more versatity. Travel will be TP with Acrobatics or Hover for KD mitigation. Rest of the powers I am mulling over. First though was I have the Darkblast Gloom and Moonbeam just for some k8nd of attack chain. THEN I wondered if The Black Wand could replace one of them or, even be added in? I don't know the numbers on the powers so the idea may well be more bath then good. Also, I am not 100 sold on it thematically anyway. Tarpatch and Darkest Night are kind of mandatory as the first actual rebuffs. THEN we get Darkpit or Howling Twighlight. As I see it I only really need one of them and it seems that HT has much more to give. Not one for stealthing but, the resistances in Shadow fall can't be missed. Now it gets weird for me. Do I really need Tenebrous Tentacles AND Tarpatch? Do I need both Fearsome Stare AND Petrifying Gaze? Nightfall will obviously come in as another attack and debuff. Lifedrain will do likewise. Right now, Torrent and Blackhole are out. That leaves Blackstsr and Fluffy to finish. Soooooo......is this a reasonable pick of powered for the plan? All expert advice gratefully received.

It did not suck...it challenged. You LEARNED how to play your alt to it's strengths not just rely on fancy freebies to do it. Was it slow? Yes it was. Was it tough? Yes it was. Was it worth it? HELL YEAH. There were some seriously talented players back then.

Anyone recall back in the day, bunches of folks would sit out near Hollows gate. If anyone died in the field, those good samaritans would port them back to gate and rez them. From reading a few posts elsewhere it looks like Hollows is now too easy to need this but.....I will investigate and may revive an old tradition😁

As I like to just Take time to explore and just enjoy the whole ethos of the game I pretty much always play solo. Back in the original game I took various alts to level this way no problem but......apart from the odd Giant Monster I never did any of the task forces or anything. CAN those actually be done solo or do you HAVE to have a minimum number of players to even access them at all? If you CAN access them solo, how hard is it to actually beat them? I assume you would need to be WAY over levelled compared to the normal.

I always felt out of place Red side as well.

I am trying it with mine now I just came back. No real reason or benefit compared to old days but, I just feel like getting them. Seems a good enough reason for me😁 Good luck on your own quest😁

It's not the most kick ass by any stretch of imagination but, I have always had an Archery/TA defender in my line up of alts. I enjoy the concept.

My main? Try my every darned alt, bluevandvred sides. I missed them all soooooooo much😂

The only change, I personally don't agree with is that getting capes, auras, costume slots has lost its sense of achievement. Those were career milestones man.😊 That said, olution is simple...I roll a basic toon and build it up gradually using my own self control 3xactly as I would have before. All problems with game..........resolved😁

For every Blue side alt I create, I also roll their mortal enemy on Red side. Sure, it's not helping my altitis but, it's fun😁

The Hollows was my enemy for YEARS!

Purely personal stuff for me. 1 I did not like the graphic style of CO. 2 The community and people in COH back in the day were amazing. 3 The Devs were roo accessible to chat and play with. I remember being one of the main organisers of an Internatioal Costume Competition in Pocket D with live DJs, amazing exclusive prizes from the Devs. No other game begorevin since matched that kind of stuff. I am DELIGHTED I heard about Homecoming the other day.

As pointed out already a blaster is at risk of face planting which will just spoil things from the start. Pick some kind of defender or controller and use that to help keep her in the game and feel the power. Later on you can maybe even swap over the alts to give her a taste of a different play style while you do the blasting. Increasing her appreciation of the game. 6 Months time, she is owning your ass in PVP😁

Used to happen a lot in the old game but, reading forums now I get a sense that the old support alts are just nowhere needed to the same level anymore. It's a shame as I agree with you about how cool it is to get positive feedback.

I am loving bei g back in Paragon having only found out the other day about homecoming but.....I am surprised and a tiny bit dissapointed at how it's possible to get everything up front now. I rember getting, badges, capes, costume slots, auras, all took real effort and they felt like proper milestones and achievements. Small gripe though, overall it's FABULOUS having all my old alts recreated again😁
