ElM/SD is definitely a fun combo with two teleport AOE booms. Don't discount Fire Armor. Burn is really wild AOE. And it's a crazy good ST attack too. Fire Armor has a PBAoE toggle too. Just be prepared for runners with Fire Armor. Shield and Rad don't have a PBAoE but they do have their click AOE attacks and also a taunt aura. With Rad Armor, you can proc out Radiation Therapy for just damage procs and it ends up being a pretty darn good AOE, no lie. You'd be surprised how well a DM/RAD's AOE can end up being with a procced out Touch of Fear, Rad Therapy procced out, and Meltdown. And Dark Consumption and Soul Drain slotted for damage. I don't have a DM/RAD, but I do have a DM/BIO and it FEELS like it clears packs just as fast as my EM/RAD. Even has a decent Trapdoor time.
-
It's normally way to deep to get unless I'm doing a "pylon only" build. Which I've only done once. On Test. I like having slotted attacks when I exemp.
-
Sometimes it's DPA and cast time is about the same/better then the power you would replace it in the chain with. And it is a cone, so it can take different slotting. And if the build is already taking tough/weave it's not a big jump to take it. But it can take the Fury -RES proc (this is a big one) and also take the +RCHG proc if you want to use that one.
-
Not sure his exact reason, but you can slap a -RES proc in it for sure. Cross Punch is definitely an interesting little power.
-
Yeah, I noticed the set didn't respond to being procced out well. But the KM/SD synergy is legit. I had a KM/SD years ago and enjoyed it. Your results aren't surprising. But Focused Burst has such a long ani time I can't see it really contributing to ST DPS. I always had my best results 1-3, conc strike, and snipe when it's up.

Energy Melee Attack Chains, ATOs and a Build for review

Start the MSR by yourself while they are forming...done that a few times 😄 And I absolutely did it out of spite from someone whining at me for doing a test. -

Since the end of Beta right before shutdown (so back in 2011). It was never the unkillable armor that people who were only spreadsheet warriors screamed of. Bio is squishy as hell. Bio is a melee glass cannon. It's offensive output can not be matched, but if you actually capitalize on the sets true strength get ready to ride the bleeding edge of life and debt. -

Yeah, they can. Fortunately, you aren't waiting 30s for them to come back up and try again 😛 I honestly just wish more people were aware that DM isn't a DPS monster like it is perceived to be and just tweaking Soul Drain could bring it in line. It's a REALLY fun set to me and I wish I never found out the reality of it's performance. Cause you are darn right about Soul Drain should being factored in to performance.
-
Umm, this changed a while before the game shutdown. Brutes aren't out damaging scrappers. Brutes got their Fury nerfed. Then when ATO2s hit the scene, scrappers left Brutes in the dust and Brutes got a pretty worthless ATO2. But you are absolutely right about the runners part. If they are a 30s jog away from you, you ain't doing damage. Brute > Scrapper in the DPS department there. Brute: Taunt Aura means less/no runners. Scrap: Runners and questioning why you rolled a scrapper with a secondary without a taunt aura.
-
Soul Drain needs a full 10x stacks to get to the top 10 of scrapper primaries in terms of ST DPS. And it can miss. And it has an incredibly long animation time. Follow-Up and Blinding Feint are same/similar to each other. Soul Drain isn't even close to what they are.

Are there any Scrapper builds that can solo AVs and GMs?
SomeGuy replied to meowkittyface's topic in Scrapper
Almost every primary/secondary (I said almost) scrapper combo can do this. It really depends on the player and build. -
This answer always depends on what you value more. Stone is definitely better damage IF the target just stays there and takes it. If you spend 10s running it down though, ANYTHING comes out ahead. Stone has a runner problem. ALL armors without a taunt aura do. I personally HATE HATE HATE runners and I solo a lot, so the lack of a taunt aura would make it an easy call for me. I abandoned a fully T4 incarnated RM/STN because of runners. I've given Stone a fair amount of play time and I've given Shield a LOT. Personal opinion? The difference in damage is only noticed when measured (Shield is known for it's good damage output too) BUT you will noticed the lack of damage when you literally can't attack that Eclipse Werewolf cause it took off like Usain Bolt and is a quarter mile down the office. I think you'll like Shield more. Both sets boost damage, Stone boosts it more. Aesthetically, you can't get rid of Stone shoulders and Shin Guards even with minimal settings. Shield has...a shield. Comes down to taste in the looks department. Mace and a shield look awesome to me.

EA is pretty amazing TBH. And it has a taunt aura. If you aren't considering it I definitely would.

Stopwatch on my phone.

If you go Stone you are going to have some incredibly nasty amount of running away from you. Stone can crank out more ST and AOE DPS but you WILL have to deal with a lot of runners, so that statement really only applies if the mob is standing there. SD has a taunt aura. Stone does not. SD has Shield Charge.
-
Why did I never think to measure times this way...
-
It is definitely tougher than bio (not a high bar anyways) and the damage output is actually pretty close. Brimstone and Mudpots add a darn good amount of DPS.
-
Something was tweaked with the flee thing a while back (few months?) that didn't seem to get documented. Stone Armor is really good stuff on scrappers, but the lack of a taunt aura makes it ridiculous to solo with. I've got a RM/STN and a RM/BIO and I am gonna shelf and gut the RM/STN simply because I can't stop going nuts with the runners. Sucks too, cause outside of that, it's a good armor set.

It's work to figure out how to get it in the middle of the pack for DPS, but it isn't bottom tier if you do. The Conc Strike animation can root you for a long time (2.83s) but it's a cool payoff. ATO2 definitely goes in Conc Strike and you definitely take and slot T1-3 and use them. Fire Melee actually performs worse in ST DPS but that's IF you put the time in to figure out the best way to maximize it's weird Build Up (Power Siphon). Fire Melee is pretty bad in terms of performance but it's dumb simple to do. I haven't done SF/BIO or ELM/BIO but I'm pretty sure they are behind it in ST performance. KM<FM<DM(1x Soul Drain Stack)<ELM<SF

Looking at the aracana time and animation time before effect this looks to be definitely true. 9.18 is what I get. 1.32 - 0.5 = 0.82 10.0 - 0.82 = 9.18
-
Try: TF - THEN BUILD UP - ET. This normally let's me go TF-BU-ET-MB-TF-ET. The animation time on BU activating is just enough to roll in to that just fine. On rotations when I don't use BU it's just the same as everyone else. Build Up's boost last for 10s, the BU proc last for 5s. TF has a long animation and that absolutely eats into BU time.

I haven't played with sound in well over a decade. Last time I heard this game was...2010?
