  1. This is a difficult build to make the most out of if you're not wanting to put a much inf into it but here's what I came up with. Good global recharge, procs to make up for the general low damage, and 31% ranged defense (this combo is not going to be in melee range very often and you are softcapped for S/L resist). I left Liquefy's slots open, really depends what you want to do with it - I would recommend slotting for the -ToHit to help cap your defenses, maybe four slots of Siphon Insight then a couple damage procs. The empty power pick is for the travel power of your choice. Ice/Nature

Here is the build, it will probably undergo a few changes once I've played it at 50 but I'm pretty happy with the 44.9% S/L defense and 141% +recharge. I like NA a lot but - and this is kind of a perk - half the powers are so situational I don't need to fully slot them. I almost never use Regrowth and prefer to use Rebirth as an emergency heal. Wild Bastion would probably be fine with 2-3 slots as well but I wanted the recharge from DW. Ice/Nature

I’m leveling an ice/NA right now and loving it. I play exclusively on teams and took Arcane Bolt so my damage isn’t as anemic. Entangling Aura is a godsend that pairs very well with Arctic Air and somewhat makes up for ice’s relatively weak control. I plan on building for perma-Overgrowth so the massive damage buff compensates for my lack of. I’m taking all the powers in NA as I level but I think I will respec out of Regrowth. I only ever have to use it when I go too ham, but I’ll be taking Hibernate so that won’t be an issue at endgame. May also skip Spore Cloud as it takes a second to set up and only feels useful in longer fights. Living Spores isn’t great either but throwing a Performance Shifter proc in there has helped a LOT with my end issues. From Ice I skipped Chilblain, Shiver and Jack Frost (since I literally never solo). Flash Freeze isn’t great but it’s nice to have for emergencies and I loaded it with procs so its a serviceable nuke. I have a tentative build drawn up with hefty recharge and something like 38% S/L defense. I’ll post it when I’m back at my computer.
  4. Recently got a grav/psi to 50 and it’s ridiculously fun. Wormhole into the PBAOEs never gets old, Grav/ has great single target damage so I don’t have to take many attacks from Psi/ which lets me use more power pools, and the sets allow for enough S/L resistance IOs that the toon never takes damage and can stay in melee range spamming Drain Psyche/Shockwave, with WoC full of damage procs, to my heart’s content.
  5. Ooh I like that a lot! I always forget about using a scarf to add some texture. Thank you!!
  6. Could use some input with this guy... He is the weakest, street level member of my 5-man superteam, inspired by the likes of Daredevil, Black Widow, etc. I usually combine two different costume sets on all of my toons which normally works great but this one just isn't clicking. I don't know how to add more personality without the whole thing being too much. Any suggestions are highly appreciated!
  7. First time playing a tanker past the early levels and I have no idea what I'm doing with the build! I took what I could find from the forums but I'm sure there's room for improvement. I hear a lot of conflicting advice on /DB and whether or not one should take all the attacks and focus on combos. I found I do not like the combo system, mostly due to the accuracy checks ruining them often, so I simply went with an attack chain that feels good to me and has a lot of space for procs. My main questions are whether or not I'm slotting the primary powers correctly and what to do with my empty power slots. I hit capped S/L resist and def (with 2 enemies) without Tough/Weave and given the lack of +recovery set bonuses I hesitate to take those. Are the Leadership or Medicine pools worth it on a tank? Also I know Combat Jumping is better but Hover is necessary for theme. 8. Rolled a Grav/Psi dom after /Energy wasn't cutting it for me (too many powers to click, felt useless in teams that were melting mobs before Wormhole went off). Threw this build together as a starting point until I upgrade the ATOs, can afford purple sets for Wormhole and GDF, get all my incarnate stuff done, etc. but I feel like there's room for improvement. I know Force of Will is not the best set but I play like a dumbass and like having Unleash Potential as another panic button, alongside Dimension Shift as a pseudo-phase. It took a few respecs but I'm finally happy with my power choices - there's nothing I don't use, my ST and AOE rotations are solid, and the survivability is decent. I aimed primarily for recharge and S/L resist. Defenses could be better but I don't see how to improve them without sacrificing something else. My major questions, other than "can I make this better," are: -- Is World of Confusion any good with damage procs? I know the confuse effect is useless but since I'm in melee range a lot of the time I thought it might be a nice bonus to my PBAOE. If not I may just take Psinado though I've never found that one to be very useful either. -- Would a KB to KD proc in Singularity allow me to use it as a pseudo-Repulsion Bomb? i.e. spawn it in the middle of a group to knock them all down. -- Should I be adding more slots to Tough/Weave vs. Link Mind/MOB? 10. I have a Grav/Energy at 50+3 and am leveling another right now. Gravity isn't the best Dominator set but I like Energy with it as the KB/disorients give you a few more control options. I also like taking the Primal pool and slotting Energy Torrent and Explosive Blast with KB>KD IOs to keep groups off their feet. Crush and Lift both serve niche purposes so the choice is really yours. Lift is good for juggling, Crush is nice on enemies that are control-resistant. Both are also effective with minimal, if any, slotting. Gravity Distortion is obviously a must-have. Propel is very strong thanks to Impact, but I don't like it and prefer to take the heavy-hitter ST attacks from Energy. YMMV. Crushing Field has its uses. I'm using it on my current main with multiple damage procs. Also good to follow up on Wormhole. Dimension Shift IMO is invaluable. You won't use it every fight, but it's a one-slot-wonder effective panic button. Gravity Distortion Field needs to be 6-slotted to be useful but it's a must-have in Grav/ IMO due to your lack of other AOE controls. Wormhole is the best power in the set. Slot for Stun. I take Hover and use Wormhole from above so the scattering isn't as bad. Singularity is strong for stacking holds and repelling mobs off of you. Not a fan of pet powers but it gets the job done. I would consider not taking this power if I really wanted the slots elsewhere. Energy has strong ranged and melee attack chains but I don't recommend taking both. I prefer to be in melee range, especially after the changes to Total Focus/Whirling Hands, but either way is effective. Power Bolt is useful because it takes the Force Feedback +recharge proc. Perma-Hasten is difficult on Grav/Energy unless you heavily sacrifice your defenses, so the proc is a huge help. Bone Smasher...not much to say here. Take it if you like to melee. Same goes for Total Focus. Power Push is actually fantastic, especially with Hover. I wasn't able to fit it on my current build but the damage is decent and it's quick to fire. Great for forcing a mob off of you or juggling while you stack holds. Power Blast is only useful if you don't take Lift and Propel, and even then you'll still have so many attacks that it won't see much use. Power Boost is a must. Power Boosted Wormhole is the best part of Grav/Energy for me. Whirling Hands is a must if only because you have so few other options for AOE. The Stored Energy mechanic made it really, really strong though, at last. I take Power Burst only because I don't like Propel, but it's definitely optional. For power pools, Hasten and IMO Hover are absolutely necessary. Hover because it allows better Wormhole placement and more control over your KB effects. You can also Dimension Shift yourself in the air if enemies start throwing their ranged attacks at you. I wouldn't take Fighting unless you have the slots to spare (I don't); Dominators don't rely on def/res as much as some other classes. I take the Stealth pool for the LotG mules and to add some utility to my character. I haven't experimented much with APPs but Psionic is lacking; Link Minds is a great buff, but World of Confusion is marginally useful and Psionic Tornado does crap damage. I like Primal for the double KD AOEs and an extra melee attack. TLDR the must-have powers are: Gravity Distortion Dimension Shift Gravity Distortion Field Wormhole Power Boost Whirling Hands Hasten Hover EITHER Bone Smasher/Total Focus or Power Push/Power Burst/Propel Unnecessary: Crush or Lift Crushing Field, unless you really like it Power Blast (objectively better options in both sets)
  11. +1! This game means a lot to me and I still checked for updates all the time, even if I had given up hope that I would ever play anything like it again. This has been a dream come true and is so appreciated. Wanted to give a s/o to you as well, Philotic Knight. Your FF guide was my Bible when I made my first ever toon a million years ago. I've enjoyed seeing players I respected and learned from as a wee teen, still around and still loving the hell out of the game.
  12. I understand the concerns that people who power level will have a lesser understanding of their character... but so what? I have had zero trouble recruiting for teams, and I play at bizzaro hours. Meanwhile, I see the same people spamming "LF anything other than DFB" in the LFG channel for hours. It only takes a little bit of initiative to play the game in the way that I want to, with people that I want to play with.
  13. I really like the idea of replacing one/both of the Invisibilities and giving them a stun. Except not with the Energy Torrent visuals, because Dominators can already get Energy Torrent. They could honestly just borrow Disrupt from Energy Aura, just make it a click instead of a toggle. Or Thunderclap/Hand Clap, call it "Sensory Overload" or something. Dominators are melee hybrids to an extent, so I feel a PBAoE would encourage their high risk/high reward playstyle. Give it a 60-90 second cooldown, then you have an AOE Domination ability up for every group, but one that is weaker than many other control sets due to the strength of PA. No idea about a second replacement power, though. Maybe Stun, for an ST disorient? Call it "Feint"?
  14. I could see that being an issue, but I feel it would be on the weaker side for the same reason Gravity Control is - not many ways to take advantage of Domination.
  15. I haven't started RPing yet (rolled all my characters on Indom before the RP server was announced), but I plan on using the alternate-universe explanation. Several of my characters have undergone significant changes since 2012, or I just have new ideas for them, so this is a nice excuse to start fresh-ish.
  16. I know that it probably wouldn't be the best set for them, but can I have the option to fail? ;D
  17. I wish. Made all my toons on Indom before Everlasting was announced as the RP server and now all my names are taken over there :(
  18. Hi all, This build has undergone dozens of changes as I've been leveling it and messing around on Pine's. I had several 50 Mind/s back in the day, but no Dominators, and have only used /Energy with Grav where I was relying on the stuns to fill in Gravity's control holes. Both sets play very differently when combined with each other so I feel like I'm constantly learning and making changes. Some things I've noticed: - Levitate is redundant when I have higher damage and guaranteed KB/KD from Power Push. Mesmerize seems like a better option even with no slots available for it. - Mass Hypnosis gets almost no use. Neither does Telekinesis, but the latter is better as a one-slot wonder. - My attack chain is so busy that I don't feel like I have room for Bone Smasher - TF and ET are more than enough to take most mobs out of the fight, or at least heavily damage and stun them. - I took Tough/Weave because it was impossible (AFAIK) to get Perma-Hasten as well as decent defense/resistances. - I really wanted to take Spring Attack for extra AOE (Whirling Hands sucks), but I don't think I can fit it in. Slotted Terrify for damage as a compromise. My main questions are: am I slotting the powers efficiently, and is there anything I'm missing that could get my defense a little bit higher without sacrificing recharge. 19. Ice and Mind are my favorites. The dominator fantasy to me is total lockdown/chaos before I dive in and smash mobs to bits with my secondary powers. Those two sets have several options for AoE control; Ice Slick and Terrify can be up for every group with minimal enhancements and both are really strong and combo-friendly. Earth is very good too for the same reasons (I think control-wise it's the strongest set, but the animations aren't my thing). I've never tried Dark but it looks promising. I should have added to my original post that Gravity isn't bad. Wormhole is fantastic if used right, especially if you have more Disorients from your secondary. But in terms of control it's the weakest set, and control is the reason I rolled a dom in the first place.
  20. I’ve never tried /psi so I don’t want to throw a build together for it, but just be aware that Grav/ is not very good on doms. I chose not to listen to anyone who told me that, got one to 50+1 and mostly IOd, before I realized I was disappointed in its endgame performance and rerolled it. If you really want to go Grav/, I recommend skipping Crush and Propel. There are better options for control and damage. Lots of people skip Crushing Field, but I liked it when combod with Wormhole.
  21. I've been tinkering with this build for days and I'm still at a loss :'( I'm aiming for perma-WOP and -Painbringer but other than that have no idea what my build goals should be (never played corruptors back in the day). Here is the most recent build I came up with, which has garbage defense and perma-Hasten, which I'm not sure is necessary. I have a few questions: - What are the skippable powers in each set? After messing around with Soothing Aura I think I'm going to drop that one, and potentially one of the ST attacks in DP, as well as Empty Clips. - What is the ST attack chain for DP? Do I need Pistols/Dual Wield/Executioner's Shot AND Piercing Rounds? - I used to aim for softcapped Range defense but see a lot of people lately shooting for softcapped S/L instead - which is better? - What exactly should I be slotting for in WoP? I went for +resist because the 10% ToHit should be enough coupled with Anguishing Cry's massive defense debuff. - I see a lot of people slotting procs in the DP attacks...which ones and where? Sorry for all the questions...I used to be good at crafting builds but 10 years is a long time!
