  1. As probably one of the few regular sonic blast sentinels out there the target cap change honestly make me kind of sad. I'm sure there's a really good reason for it, but it just seems like a strange change to make on, what is already considered an under powered AT and a blast set that, based on what I've seen, is super rare. I already don't add a ton to a team other then some -RES and a pretty nice chainable as set of cones that includes a knock down. Now that effects a cap of 6 baddies which makes my sonic sentinel less effective (at least in my mind). The other sonic changes look interesting and looking forward to testing them out.
  2. Besides one being a cone and the other a AoE, Touch of Fear has a -tohit component that I really like. It can add a lot to your survivability.
  3. I also have a sonic/energy Sentinel. Sonic itself doesn't really have a secondary effect that provides a ton of procability, but the -RES helps everything it does. Generally I cycle through the three cones (kb2kd and FF procing) and then run in, aim, and nuke. Of the Sentinel primaries Sonic is really safe with the recent change making sleeps auto-hit in PvE.
  4. And no taunt to keep baddies in AoE's like Rain of Fire and Burn and Sentinel's AoE caps are painfully low (except, for some reason Water blast). I say this as someone who loves playing Sentinel's.. they really aren't great at farming. Soloing content, yes, but not farming in any meaningful way.
  5. This is part of why I find my zombie/kin hilarious to play (except for when burn patches and caltrops show up). They are so fast!
  6. I've made ninja with a number of secondaries, including FF and ice (I like ice a LOT better), but the combo that I really enjoy the most is trick arrow. With the quality of life changes make to MM's where pet summoning recharges so fast it's not a huge issue with ninjas and allows for a little more flexibility. That said trick arrows flash arrow greatly boosts thier survivability. And if a ninja dies I can easily resummon and not worry about re-shielding them since their survivability comes from the -tohit debuffs. FF works though, you just can't push them too far...since...they are paper dragons (but still fun!)
  7. Thugs and Bots kind of reach a whole new level once you get entangling aura to hold things in burn patches. I'd recommend testing up to at least 40 before really deciding.
  8. Burn/caltrop patches 😞
  9. When they changed TA I became quite obsessed with trying make different permutations of it on different AT's. Love my ta/sonic defender to death (Sonic Penetrator). For MM's it's quite sick on defense based sets...especially BOTs. Not sure which is my favorite but of the below the robots are probably the sturdiest and highest damage output (when not exempting): Bot/TA - stupid survivability and damage post 32 Thugs/TA - good survivability and damage from start to finish Beasts/TA - no obvious synergy but does really well if you find other creative ways to light the oil patch Zombies/TA - honorable mention. The stacking -tohit and self heals post 32 really turns these guys into quite the force to be dealt with.
  10. Oh? I didn't know that. I thought if it was anything but DEF+Follow it would break. I'll give that a try!
  11. I absolutely love to play MM's, but once I start to run into things like caltrops and burn patches (where pets go absolutely bonkers) I quickly get frustrated. I know I can command my pets to "stay", but that breaks bodyguard and is problematic with melee pets of a mob moves out of melee range. Is there any trick or suggestion on how to deal with these types of attacks? I know that some secondary's have things like a hold that could help (assuming there's only one MOB to lock down), but maybe I'm missing some approach that isn't obvious. Am I missing a good compensating strategy at higher levels?
  12. Switching to a directly HDMI connection from my laptop to my monitor instead of my USB (DIsplayLink) hub solved it. Not sure why thought, but it started after the 20H2 update. 😕 Kind of annoying that I cannot use my hub, but I'll live.
  13. Holy moly my hero! That worked. Thanks!! Actually when I tried running it from my laptop it did work, but I normally play through my larger monitor (via a DisplayLink hub). I tried that and it didn't work. So it's something with the hub. I think there was a driver update for that as well which got applied...time to unroll that. Thanks for the suggestion though!
  14. I updated last night to the latest Windows 10 build (20H2) and now when I click Ready in the Homecoming launcher the Loading banner starts and then goes away after a few minutes, but I never get the City of Heroes login screen. I looked in the event log and it looks like cityofheroes.exe crashes each time I try to launch it via the Homecoming launcher: Faulting application name: cityofheroes.exe, version: 1.0.3738.64, time stamp: 0x60220200 Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.19041.844, time stamp: 0x60a6ca36 Exception code: 0xc0000409 Fault offset: 0x000000000008c57f Faulting process id: 0x31fc Faulting application start time: 0x01d715976ffd2183 Faulting application path: \\?\C:\CoH\Homecoming\bin\win64\live\cityofheroes.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: 1c2df690-6cfe-4a14-8625-ef9e0fc07e0b Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Any ideas on what I can try? I've tried using both verity and uninstall\reinstall via the HC launcher and still have the same problem (and multiple reboots). Thanks for any ideas!
