  1. I just spent a few hours over the weekend on test with a new Axe/Ice build and I'm really happy with it. If I were going for optimal, shield would be very hard to beat but I have several shield scraps and brutes and I've been on an Ice kick lately. Rad armor is probably great with it too but Rad is great with everything! Ice is better than I ever expected it to be, so many tools in it's toolbox! I took the Soul patron for the def boost power (the name escapes me) to cover the toxic and psi hole and Icy Bastion is fantastic! Even 4x8 Cimarorans couldn't debuff me enough to matter as long as I remembered to use all those fancy tools. Axe hits like a truck and even +4 bosses didn't feel like a slog to get through. Using the scrapper ATO for bonus crits just chunks away lifebars at a very heathy rate (healthy for me, not them). Very decent AoE damage as well, it always did good damage but the recent tweaks make it feel so much smoother.
  2. When doing a MoBAF, is there any safe place to attack Nightstar from? I've been having trouble finding anyplace that won't get me killed. It seems like the field is a death sentence and going between the buildings is only slightly safer if at all. Is it just a matter of a few ppl will die to the towers and I've just been unlucky?
  3. Thank you very much folks! Sounds like Savage can be fun but I may swap to plant/savage to be the master of both plants and animals! I really appreciate the insight!
  4. I've been considering making either a Fire/Savage or an Earth/Savage Dom but I haven't played Savage before so I took to the forums to do some research. In doing so I ran across a few posts stating that Savage was a bit under par and needed a balance pass. Those posts were from 2019 so I was wondering if that was still the case and if so, to what degree. Is it just a little underpowered or is it unplayable? If it's playable do my pairings work well with it or are there better options I should consider? Any tips on the set or suggestions as to what powers are skippable would be appreciated! Thanks!
  5. Fire/Thorns sounds like it could be pretty awesome! I don't have that particular combo but I've played them both separately. Smoke is skipable from fire, it's not trash it's just kind of situational. Skip Ring of Fire too, on a troller is useful as another damaging attack but on a Dom your whole second set just for damage so it's not very valuable. Thorns is harder because its all good, gotta make some tough decisions. On my Plant/Thorns I took all the high damage single target stuff from thorns and rely on Creepers, Roots and Disruptor Blast for AOE damage but I've been thinking about respecing because Thorn Bust would be very useful. You could build in a similar way with Cages, Hot Feet and Bonfire as your main AOE damage.
  6. I have a Earth/Fire that I really love! With earth you only really need Stalagmites, either gasses or earthquake and the AOE immob then you can just burn everything down from range. With fire epic you'd have Firebreath, Combustion and Fireball for major AOE damage and plenty of heavy hitting single target attacks as well.
  7. The build looks good! If I were to tweak it I'd change a couple things but I think it may come down to preference for the special enhancers in a given set. In Crush, swap in Decimation for similar bonuses but better enhancement values. Same with Twilight Grasp swapping in Touch of Nictus or maybe Dark Watcher for the recharge bonus and extra -to hit. Then Cushing Field, I'd swap in Ragnarocks. It doubles the damage output and since the AOE immob can be spammed I don't feel like the extended immob time that you give up is particularly valuable. I like your single target chain and I removed Propel in my own build too. Grav is a little lacking in AOE damage so maybe dropping one of the Sorcery powers and picking up Disruptor Blast could help in that regard. Or swapping to Stone Mastery for Fissure and Rock Armor, Fissure is pretty great, it's basically footstomp for trollers with nice AOE range, damage, knockdown and a 6 second recharge. Lastly, and this is easier said than done, but try to drop a little bit of smashing/lethal def and replace it with ranged def to round out your defense a little better. I'd probably do something like this, the ranged still isn't where I'd want it but after an Agility Alpha its within 1%: This Hero build was built using Mids Reborn 3.4.7 https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! 8. Oh wow! Sorry, I didn't know that. Yeah it seems a real shame to ditch a tried and true system.
  9. Hey buddy, I'm afraid I get an error when I try to open the attachment. Try this: File >export >forum export > Yes (to full build) > leave the default options selected and "export now" Then just paste it into your post. It will be a giant post and there is probably a more efficient option but that will post the data chunk that ppl can copy and open in mids. Here is a grav/dark build I've been working on, it's an adaptation of my fire/dark and its very tanky but I think I need to adjust it to give more slots to wormhole and maybe work Crush or Dimensional Shift into the mix. Not sure yet, It's a work in progress, I haven't built it yet, just theorizing. 10. Almost all the time, yes. I like my trollers tanky! I just revised my ill/dark to remove the fighting pool and still managed to keep s/l and ranged over softcap. It was a very exciting discovery, lol! The downside was that after I beefed up my other Defense powers, I didn't have any slots left to put into the powers that replaced fighting so I needed some 1 slot wonders. I ended up with 3 sorcery powers, so far pretty happy with the change but this wouldn't be possible with most troller secondary sets. Dark is pretty amazing!
  11. I'll echo the love for earth, phenominal set and you become a control god! But if you've never played a plant troller, jump on it! The creepers and the confusion give it its own unique feel and it packs decent damage too. Another oddball that I really love is ice/rad. Ice has low damage and odd control but once you get it up and running it has amazing hold/mitigation potential with the hold aura, confuse/slow aura, 2 aoe holds and ice patch. Lots of fun! edit: I almost forgot, dark/dark is awesome! If you enjoyed your Illusion troller you'll probably enjoy dark/dark. 5 pets if you take one in the epics and debuffs for days!
  12. Okay, I think this one works well. Lost a little ranged def but gained enough recharge to keep permadom going. I ended up going with a bit of ranged and a bit of melee. The single target sword attacks are very nice for chewing through bosses but Ice Sword Circle seems very situational because by the time I'm jumping into melee range there are only a couples bosses and maybe a couple LTs and chances are they aren't all in a tight circle that ISC can hit. Though I'm not sure what I'd put in it's place if I swapped it out, maybe Hoarfrost or Hibernate. 13. Uggg... Took the ranged build to test and it can't keep permadom going. I'll have to drop some def for recharge.
  14. Earth/Fire is my favorite Dom so far. It's got, imho, the best control set in the game (+Domination to make it even better) and the best blast set in the game. I'm sure a blaster aficionado will explain why that's not true but idc, fire blast just feels wonderful!

  16. It's time for a new alt and a Dom is calling me! I was in Mids for hours trying to make a Fire/Ice/Ice work but the Hot Feet/Chilling Embrace monster is too wild a beast for me to tame right now. I may come back to it in the future but for now Plant has once again caught my eye. I've put together 2 builds for Plant/Ice/Ice, one leans into ranged and one leans into melee. They both have soft capped S/L/Ranged (after 3% stealth), that might be overkill but I have no heals except for Spirit Tree which is pretty lame.. I admit I sacrificed some recharge to get to soft cap so permadom = yes, but hasten = no. I try to balance it without Incarnates, if it's good without Incarnates, it'll be great with Incarnates! Taking all the melee and all the ranged powers seems like a waste of power picks and taking half and half seems like I'll get the best of neither so I have to choose a lane. I think I'm patrial to the ranged version because thats where I play most control from and seeds is a cone so I'll be there at some point anyway but with that def I should be okay to go the melee route as well. My thinking is that it's either Frost Breath, Ice Bolt, Ice Blast -or- Chilling Embrace, Ice Sword Circle, Ice Sword. With Ice Slash, Bitter Ice Blast and Power Up with both of course. So what do you folks think? Should I go ranged Dom, go melee Dom or go back to the drawing board cuz both builds suck? I'm open to suggestions. Side notes: After numerous searches I've only found 1 thread from 2 years ago about Plant/Ice Doms! Am I overlooking something that makes this combo undesirable? How do I just export a link instead of the giant data chunk? RANGED This Hero build was built using Mids Reborn 3.4.7 https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! 17. I wish this tip was plastered on the screen whenever someone makes a troller! Great advise! The most trollery trollers for me are Earth Control and Plant Control and I like to pair them with a nice debuff set like Rad or Dark. You'll have amazing control over the battlefield and all the baddies either can't hit you to save their life or you turn their armor into tissue paper. At higher levels you'll have the ability to fully shut down at least 3 groups at once. I'm also quite fond of Ice control, it offers as much control as the other 2 but has less damage so I think it's fallen out of favor for the most part.

  19. Thanks for the feedback Carnifax! I like Smoke but I think you're right, that big damage would be beneficial. Looking forward to getting some slots back too!
  20. Maybe a Plant/Storm? Really powerful and fun combo. I haven't tried soloing AVs but it beats the snot out of EBs in its sleep. I haven't made an earth/storm yet but it sounds like fun. Ill/dark is a blast but you have an ill/rad already so its pretty similar. Maybe a classic Fire/Kin or Fire/Rad? I just made a Fire/Nature troller thats pretty fun and has the buffs/debuffs to do some work. Nearly any troller should be able to solo 2x8 with bosses or EBs. Even my Ice/Rad can do that with ease and ice my be the lowest damage troller set. Its the soloing AVs part that can get tricky. I'd say try a high damage primary (fire, plant, ill) and pair it with a strong debuffer (rad, dark, cold) and you should have something that can solo easily and handle AVs.
  21. Hello all, here is a Fire/Nature build I just put together today. I usually like to look at other builds for inspiration but I couldn't find anything for this combo so I took some of my fire/kin build and adjusted as needed. Its still a first draft but I'm running it in game with no Incarnates yet and it does pretty well. My standard test for a new build is a solo council farm, so I started at 51x8, then 52x8, then 52x8 with bosses, then 53x8 with bosses. it did fine there but 53 bosses were slow so then I did some 54x8 no bosses and that was easy. Its an easy farm but I just use it to get a base line feel for new toons. End consumption is tricky but manageable, the small gap in Overgrowth is noticeable, I think an Agility alpha will smooth that out a little. I'm not new to Fire but this is my first experience with Nature. I'd love some build critiques or suggestions (no winter-o's plz) or general Nature advise. I'd also love to squeeze another 10% ranged def and the shield wall 5% resist but that may not be in the cards. I know skipping the heal may be blasphemy but I didn't like the cone aspect and I was tight on power selections. Controller - Fire Control - Nature Affinity Porkchop Scallywag.mxd
  22. Is this still viable? I thought the toggle/proc nerf made it so the Contagious Confusion proc was not very effective in artic air anymore.
  23. I went with Earth/Fire/Ice and like it the best out out of the 3 set out Doms I have (dark/psy & plant/thorns are the others). It feels the strongest in terms of damage output and control of enemies. The dark/Psy has fantastic survivability ala regen/recovery but I rip through mobs so much faster on the earth/fire. I also prefer a mainly ranged Dom. My def isn't even that good with only s/l at softcap but Earth is your main defense anyway. When everything is held/stunned/falling down and immobilized they can't even get a shot off. I look at it like this, I'm getting all the control I could ever want from my primary and I get my aoe & shields from pools and epics so all I need is strong single target damage from the secondary. This is what fire excels at! So aoe stun > aoe immob > sleet > ice storm and then my single target rotation (single target hold, snipe, blaze) on anything that survives that. Proc up that single target hold, its the strongest attack I have. Consistently stronger than snipe or Blaze, both of which are also very strong. Consume is always handy but I'm on the fence with Firebreath. Its okay damage but its a narrow, sorta short cone and I find I just don't use it very much, I may swap it out for the single target immob as that may have a little more utility. Anyway, I vote Fire!
  24. When I powerlevel something that I'm not super familiar with or just not sure it'll be something I like, I'll SO it out so I can play around with it and get a feel for it without being totally useless on a TF or team. I think I have a 50 Sentinel that I leveled, loaded up with SOs and promptly forgot about it and maybe one more as well. I'd be down to do some TFs or trials with them. I also have several toons I leveled up and haven't touched so they have 0 enhancers, wouldn't take long to SO them either. I'll check what I have when I get home.
