I kinda always wished the costume pieces like Rocket Boots (fly) and Piston Boots (super jump) were functional and not just cosmetic. I like the idea of being able to add your own personal Lucius Fox to your SG (or a city shop) for gadgetry and vehicles.

I didn't read any malicious intent in the OP. Because of the way I personally learn things, I agreed; try it out first. When I first came to CoH during live, I had the luxury of being invited by a IRL friend. I asked them 1 question when I logged on to create my first character: "What is the easiest to solo?" Now this kinda threw them for a loop because they wanted to show me the ropes. I wanted to figure things out and get comfy enough with the basics before I would even play with a real world friend. As time went on, I started to ask questions more. Eventually we headed into Mids territory. It was a pleasant experience, having someone take the time to go through things with me to increase my understanding of the how and why. Does *everyone* learn that way? No. But some do. I never played an MMO before CoH. I didn't want to because every game I was interested in, I'd go to the forums first. 99.9% of what I read only reinforced what was keeping me away from playing anything online with other people: outright hostility and nastiness instead of any civil discourse. (Who tf wants to deal with that during leisure time?) I don't doubt that there are vastly more lurkers than there will ever be folks actually posting.

On the contrary, I *do* consider many things when joining a team. I observe, then act accordingly to, how the team is operating. I don't, however, feel the need to impress or be impressed by anyone . Good day to you.

No arguments from me on that, Aurora. I've never asked for any help with a build, mostly because I can rig up something that works well enough for me to accomplish what I want to do. I've never cared about FoTM and never been good at min/max but whatevs. I still have fun. And I still complete everything that I care to complete even if I have to solo it. Trial and error can be a very good teacher!

IMO, it's things like that that are chasing away new/recently returned players. The worse the elitism/snubbing gets, the smaller shard populations get. Kinda disappointed in a lot of the attitudes now pervasive in this once very inclusive, fun loving game community.
