Least favorite mob in game: vent session

In Cimerora, Immunes Surgeons. They like to stand waaay back with their long range heals, making you wonder where all that damage you just did went. -
It seems the idea of slotting full sets is anathema to many players, which I just don't understand. Set bonuses are what turn characters from mediocre mortals into Gods. All those procs are worthless if you're facedown with a mouthful of floor.
-
You can alter procs all you want, hackers gonna hack. Players will find the next big trick regardless, and then the forum will be filled with "Should we nerf the latest unintended thing which players have figured out?" I have never made a Proc-ologist character, although most of my builds have at least one in most powers. "Roll With The Changes" -REO Speedwagon

Oh, wow. You took me seriously? You really are trying too hard to find random faults to assault, while completely avoiding the conversation at hand. -

After a time this has in fact become my case, "whatever you need" being completely subjective, of course. -

I think we're at a pretty good point in this game's economy. Unless you want every character to have a Mids build ready-to-go, with all the set enhancements lined up and ready to start slotting as soon as you hit level 7. If every character you play must be the "best" from the earliest possible time, then this journey will be a very expensive one. Which I think is perfect. I have 60+ fully built incarnate level 50's, if I farmed and felt the need to build out everything I could possibly make, I would likely have 1000. At some point, you'll realize that you just don't have the time to play them all, and I'm saying this as someone with no life outside the game. I still don't get the reason they upped the price on winter packs rather than discounting it during, well, the Winter season. Getting rid of double inf when XP is turned off at level 50 used to be a thing, revoked because... well, I don't know? Most of these discussions seem to be a big "F--- you, I already got mine!" scenario. -
This. Except for me it's counting on two hands, and maybe a foot or three...

I have 452 characters on Excelsior at the moment, no doubt I'll make more at some point, but right now I mainly play just a few of them. I have some of those super powerful(can do the 4* stuff) characters, and I like their costumes and backstories well enough, but lately it's become all about the character itself. Their name, story, origin, how they look as they're fighting... all of these things make playing a character that much more fun for me. I guess it's become a holistic thing, after all this time. Crunching numbers or copying the builds others make is commonplace, making an iconic hero/villain is not. Not that there's anything wrong with any character anyone makes, so long as they are happy with it themselves, that's really all that matters. If others enjoy the characters you've made and tell you so, that really is the highest compliment, so be sure to return it whenever you see someone else's character that blows your mind. Games are meant to be fun, so if you're not having fun, take a break for a while, it can help give some perspective.

Dark/Electric Tank With Oppressive Gloom, Thunderstrike, and yes Thunder Clap(name?) enemies just sort of wander around stunned(even AVs except for ptod time). Nothing can damage it outside of iTrial AV double-taps, 60% melee Def, 90% Resist to all but Energy(which is like 65%), and if something does hurt you, you have the best* heal in the game up every 8 seconds or so. Plus the boom of Lightning Rod, always fun. Painful all the way to 50, guaranteed toggle dropper. Will need Cardiac Alpha at 50+. Or maybe Ageless. Will see if I can find my Mids build for it...

A good action/revenge movie is always popular, so I'd go with my AR/Traps Corruptor "Early Bird". Here's his bio(I imagine him narrating over a montage of these events...) -THE WORM- Can't stop thinking about what he's done to me. Killed my family, stole my nest egg, then left me for dead. -Only I didn't die- That's one mistake the Worm will live to regret. He crawled in, then he crawled out, that damned Worm even played a game of pinochle on my snout! Yet somehow I was able to escape his clutches. It's all fuzzy now, I remember stumbling through Brickstown when I fell into the dark of night. When I awoke I was in a soft nest, Doc Sheridan had found me and nursed me back to health. I spent three months in the hospital, then six more in rehab. During my recovery, the Worm hurt a lot more birds here in Paragon City, then disappeared. My best guess is he's burrowed deep into the underground in the Rogue Isles. I'm on his trail, and I'm getting closer. It won't be long now... -- I'M GONNA GET THAT WORM!!! --

It helps to have a character which means something more to you than just being the highest DPS/most survivable build you could find on the Forums. This is why I usually don't Power Level my characters in AE, I want to learn what works and what doesn't while playing it. I want to know the value of those powers I might later skip, perhaps there is some hidden synergy I hadn't thought of, or find in the heat of battle. I also want a character that looks good, and looks really good while using their powers, too. Having a good bio can make you "become" your character. Even a little light roleplay can add a lot to your enjoyment, this community is pretty cool overall. -
This seems less like a discussion than it is an advertisement for a certain YT creator...

City of Heroes is my wife, all other games are mere mistresses... Oh and Starfield is the worst game I've ever wasted a hundred bucks on. I call it "Garfield" because I'll never be able to unsee those staring NPC bug eyes at release...
