  1. Heraclea Furia, legata cos. In ea fido. De religione opinionem Caeliae Iamnaeae sequitur, sed puto haec pro fistulamento. "Puella Iacobi Bondi" fieri vult; nescio quodnunc significet. Datum a. kal. Septembris, in urbe Paragonensi. Heraclea Furia, consular legate to Paragon City, sends greetings to Julia Calusarides, consul. I've gotten a shipment of new statues from the artists in Paragon City. I've decorated our fort with them, so that our glory should be yet more manifest. We've also recruited Cynthia 'Plaster Caster'. I recommend her to the century of artillery. She is a skilled spy, fighting from stealth, but she gets the job done. Still, in her fighting, she follows ancestral customs; she is an archer and engineer. I trust her. She follows Caelia Yamnaya in her religious views, but I suspect that's mostly for the weed. She wants to become a 'James Bond girl'; I have no idea what that means. Given on the kalends of September in Paragon City.
  2. If I had a crime hotspot, it would be strictly white tie and tails.
  3. What does one wear to a crime hotspot these days?
  4. I have a SR/Katana tanker. I thought that such a character might be ideal for soloing stuff like Dark Astoria and Praetorian story lines, and high level AE missions, while being more than adequately tough since the defence in Katana would stack with the defence in SR. What I discovered is a character that needs all the IO endurance help the game has, and that still isn't enough. Worse, when Reflexes was ported to tankers it was saddled with a weak taunt aura. Since I already have two level 50 tankers, this one has fallen by the wayside for now. May reroll the character as a scrapper or brute, where the big endurance costs will at least be repaid in DPS.
  5. Devices seems to have many powers that work to keep mobs at range and stay out of melee. Made an archery/devices blaster that seems pretty safe for a blaster. And Halloween is coming.
  6. Astonished to see so many Super Strength characters. Apparently the word has not gotten out yet. It would be interesting to see how many of them made it to 50. Likewise surprised to see so many characters choosing Regen as their defense set, especially now that Bio, Rad and Willpower are available and do regeneration better than Regen. They are fun to play at lower levels. I made one knowing what I was getting into, for the specific purpose of running lowbie TFs.
  7. Fire/Spines is popular for a reason, though Bio/Spines is IMO more fun to play.
  8. IIRC there are missions that you can take in Bloody Bay and Siren's Call. They're like Marcus Valerius or Borea missions, they're all timed, but most of them (there's a patrol) take you to instances in a zone where you can grind on Longbow or Arachnos. If I remember rightly, there's an XP bonus on these also, as hazard zone pay, so they're not a bad way to grind for small teams.
  9. I always went the other way. Arcane power, tech teleporters: the monitor plaques are much more readable than the scrolls.
  10. It certainly is an interesting lesson in the effect PvP has on game communities. That said, adding a base portal to Ouroboros seems the simple and elegant fix. This replaced Ouro for me not because it was instant, but because I didn't have to struggle to find the return clicky amid the throng of MM pets crowding around it. That, and the limited selection of destinations made the base portal better. The harder to get to areas like Crey's Folly make Ouro much less helpful. (In Ouro, I always go to IP rather than Talos. Closer to base. Closer to the train. This, too, is an exploit, I know. You didn't read it here.) I worry about what simply removing the command will do to the popularity of task forces like Citadel, Manticore, and Numina, that are always sending you to random destinations. Most of my characters that run them to level don't have ten million in inf, either. I don't farm for inf or play the markets, and would prefer that not become compulsory.
  11. I am not sure which items require pairing with power sourcs. Tech portals work with magic power and control, but need tech destinatins.
  12. My recollection of the relevant folklore is that the Sidhe were famous for their prowess with bows, and used them to bestow various curses on their enemies. I see no problem turning that into a supernatural aptitude for any sort of ranged weapon. I have deliberately tried to ensure that my Roman mains are by no means stuck in the Iron Age, and that their culture has continued to develop and change in the intervening millennia.
