  1. I still think that The Monstrous Regiment of Lesbian Hellions was the best thing I ever wrote for AE. Not sure it has aged all that well, though.
  2. I must admit that I've always wanted to destroy the world. Who would have ever thought it was as easy as plastic straws?
  3. Greco-Roman temple just got a lot easier. This is several units of 'Garden Arch' from the Cityscape section, on a Mausoleum Huge base from Landscape, and surrounded by Ruined Pillar from Pillars. A rear wall may be desired. I stacked two 'Garden Walls' from Cityscape. There may be a bit of overhang. I just stuck a pillar on it. Interior will display Garden Arch decorations. You can control this to some extent by moving them closer together. I find I don't mind the effect. Small statues easily fit inside. Edit: From the Amazon Army base, Torchbearer.
  4. Still something of a work in progress, but I redid the entrance to the Amazon Army base yet again. I wanted most importantly to reorient the colonnade along the north south axis, so that when you zone in this is what you see. And yes, that's Dominatrix. "Close enough", like my blasters always say.
  5. The plan here is to be easy to make - I already have a fancy blaster - and to absorb some of the junk lying around the base. I do want her ready to go by the Halloween event, assuming it will be run here. An archery/devices blaster was my Halloween salvage farmer in i23. Plan was to name the character Plaster Caster Blaster. That was too many letters. Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 6. This is why I don't play Kinetics. I tried. Playing Kinetics meant constant tells demanding Speed Boost from the scrapper who ran three spawns ahead. Nope.
  7. These are both awesome, Had a look through the Pingu base earlier. The air traffic control tower is a nice touch, Love seeing people building scenes with the NPCs as well. Just makes the places seem livelier.
  8. The ATOs are 100 merits apiece, and most of them are seven to ten million at the AH, so the catalysts just sit there and occupy space. I've used them to improve some important set bonuses, but there's apparently no need to use them on stuff like Miracle +Recovery, which you try to get as low as possible anyways. I'd like to have them do something for my level 24s with empty holes.
  9. This is one reason why I love playing tankers. You either need me to tank for you or you don't. I do everything I can to create an umbrella of protection for those teammates who want to stay inside it. And this involves not zipping through the caves and tunnels, letting me take point, and trying to bunch up the mobs before you go to work. You don't have to. You want to go solo a team sized spawn, you go right ahead. You know your character better than I do. If it works, great; I still get the XP, drops, and inf you generate. If not, it's not my job to teleport you out of there and resurrect you. Want to put pets in the sewer door? Fine. Using a choke point is a good strategy, and their HP are even more disposable than mine. Want to immobilize everything immediately? Well, that's controller stuff, and even God doesn't know how it all works. I assume there's some kind of plan there. Finally, there's the likelihood that you have the best chance to live through any fiasco your teammates bring about. This helps you be philosophical about it all.
  10. I have a fairly large stockpile of catalysts. I keep getting level 50 drops that I'd like to attune and pass on to lowbies to slot. How do you attune a set IO without slotting it?
  11. For Heraclea: Alpha - Musculature; damage boosts are always helpful. Lore - Cimerorans. May also pick up Talons. Pure concept reasons. Destiny - Barrier (duh) or Clarion (to help teams) Interface - Cognitive (for the lols) Hybrid - Melee (seemed the obvious choice)
  12. Good to know. My practice always was to pass leadership to the lowest person on Posi 1. Level 8 means no Ruin Mage.
  13. Crazy strong: Invulnerability/Dark Melee, Shield/Dark Melee. Defense sets generally benefit from the -tohit in Dark Melee. All tankers benefit from the powerful, fast charging self heal that is also an attack. Put some accurate healing IOs in there and you're off to the races. Invulnerability with Dark Melee is close to Granite toughness with none of the drawbacks. Shield benefits it in other ways, by supplying the AoE attack that Dark Melee is weak at. Primaries that already supply AoEs like Bio and Fire may also find it useful. Bad: Fire or Bio armor paired with Titan Weapons or Energy Melee. Those primaries depend on click powers for survival. Attack sets with long, slow, painful animations get them killed because of unresponsive keys while the animations play. Healing powers and inspirations ought to take immediate effect rather than waiting on animations, but they don't.
  14. From the posted builds in the AT forums, one rule appears to be 'build as if you had unlimited inf and merits.' At least, that's the version you show off.
  15. Years ago, I wrote a guide: Which tanker should I bring to the task force? This is quite obsolete, given that there r are now more primary defense sets to consider and more task forces to talk about. But the point remains: all tanker primaries give adequate survivability, and some work better on some content than others do. All of the tanker primaries have strengths and weaknesses; you probably don't want to take a Willpower tanker to a fire farm. Granite is great if you're tanking Mary Macomber. Granite on a Council map is awful. Tanker primaries and attack sets have complicated synergies and disharmonies that are especially pronounced on the tanker AT because survival is your first job and aggro management your second. As Nintova suggests, you can treat a tanker like a melee controller. Stone melee is good for this. Fault is a controller power that made it into a melee set, and is highly amusing even if it does no damage. There are specific pitfalls to avoid: melee sets like Titan Weapons or Energy Melee, with long slow animations, work best with set and forget defense sets like Invulnerability. If your survival depends on click powers they are not working in your favor. Do you add to your defenses with your attacks (e.g. Shield/Broadsword) or do you use your attacks to add a layer of defense to resistance (e.g. Dark Armor/Katana)? Simple 'rankings' lack nuance.
  16. I would say that my electric/electric blaster is a blapper. She's also a blast-fender; her best move is to stealth in and unload all her PBAoEs and drain the mobs' endurance.
  17. Had an odd crash running the 64bit live client on a Penny Yin. Mapserved, and for a while the screen went black. My client eventually righted itself, but at least three people on the TF disconnected at that time. They all made it back in time for the finale. This happened on the Council mission, shortly after the Alderman cutscene, on Torchbearer around 11 PM EST.
