  1. These days, I usually run my Outdoor Influence Fire arc. Lots of mobs and even Elite Bosses. Some days, I'll get 2 purples in one run, and some I get none. I don't grind for purples though. That would be insanely frustrating. They're a nice bonus reward. I have friends who will grind grind grind for purples all day long. There are days they'll get 6 in a day! That's just way too much work lol. My brain would melt. Yes, the creator of the Comic Con farms gets bored of farming too sometimes. 😛
  2. In this case, you're dealing with quantity, not quality. It's not the bosses, it's the fact that you're going through so many baddies so quickly. More chances, more opportunities, in less the amount of time. And even then, it's not a bag full of purples just spilling out all over the ground for you to snatch up. It's still very rare, and that's the beauty of it. It's still exciting to get. Increasing the rate lessens the fun of getting those precious jewels. Most of, if not all, of my builds need purples. The fact that they're so hard to come by naturally makes it a challenge I enjoy. But that's me.
  3. I've never understood why people have a problem with things like AE. If it's not for them, and they don't use it, what's the problem? You can't tell me it's taking away from them, because if they exist, then others do too who share the same interests. Those individuals are available to run the same content they do. So where's the issue? And you can't tell me people farming AE are getting more rewards, because if I want rewards such as merits, I do Story Arcs or Group content. We're all different. Different views, different methods, different upbringings. It's sad that we've come to a point in life that where if someone who doesn't agree with you, you have to dismiss them entirely. Is that the fault of the Facebook era? Someone says something you don't agree with, and you drop them as a friend? Our differences are what make us unique. Some people like the journey. Others like the destination. Neither is wrong. Just different. There's nothing wrong with different. If the OP enjoys leveling up, then yes, AE is perfect for that individual. But as stated, if OP thinks AE is boring, there's always something different to do as a balance. They would just have to find what works for them. For me, I enjoy PL'ing in AE - because I want to hurry up and play my character as I intended to. The grind isn't fun for me. That goes for real life. I love going to the beach or the amusement park or even the mall to shop, but I absolutely hate the drive. For some, the drive is fun. I'm not the type to just go for a drive. That doesn't mean I don't like those people or think their way is wrong - just different.
  4. That's just the luck of the draw. If it was increased, how long before someone is asking for it to be increased again? There's a fine balance. For me personally, I feel like the balance we have is more than adequate.
  5. It took some time and practice. It definitely wasn't something I figured out overnight, and it was completely daunting at first. Intimidating even. A lot of trial and error and input from others helped ease me into it. I have no doubt you'll get there. And even if you didn't, if you enjoy how you're playing, that's all that matters. And from what I've learned about you, you already know that. 😄 I'm no Mids/Pine's genious. There's always someone better or who understands the mechanics clearer or just has a different perspective, but if you need an outside eye for help or input, send me a shout, and I'd be happy to help you along your Mids/Pines journey.
  6. I once made this mistake as well. The Autosave file was an old one and had old costumes which were a jumbled mesh of current ones. Not sure how that happened, but it caused a whole redo. Fortunately, I was able to tweak it and fix the whole thing. Sounds like you have horrible luck with PC's. I've had 1 PC go Ka-Blooey! That was bad enough. But double jeopardy? Wow, that's rough.
  7. That's just it though. When IO's were first released, I thought of it as that 1% boost as well and figured what's the point. But it's not 1%, it's more like an additional 50%. In some cases, even more. And on top of that, allowing you to boost your main stats through IO's frees up opportunities for other strengths and weaknesses. You don't have to stack a bunch of SO's on 1 power to get what you need on it, because IO sets across your whole build will do the trick - if not better - and allow you to boost other stats as well. Once you really start messing with the Incarnate stuff, it begins to make a lot of sense. All my builds are setup with Incarnates established. Granted, not everyone's brains are wired the same way. I was always really good with Math, so it makes sense to me. Some people hate Math with a fiery passion, so I could understand if they struggled with it. Sadly, what's even worse is, if you're the type that struggles with Math, someone who loves Math couldn't really teach you. Your brain just isn't wired that way. You would have to figure it out in your own methods. In reverse, if you tried to teach a Math lover, they're gonna hear it in hieroglyphics, because that's how their brains are wired. Reminds me of the struggles I had trying to help my son with his Math homework when he was in 3rd grade. *shivers* And also, I recognize that name, King Pumpkin Spice. You're also very easy to spot in the Comic Con Farms lol.
  8. This was eventually removed in Live, but back in the day, there were certain unmarked doors that when you clicked on them, would pull up the Long Teleport window allowing you to instantly port to any zone. My guess was, they were left behind by the Devs to get around quickly, but I would use them frequently. The one I remember the most was in Peregrine Island. The building next to the statue Falcon is standing by had the door you could use. It was super convenient. RIP.
  9. I like how you put this. A danger room to prepare you for the endgame content. And that Homecoming offers options. On Live, the Devs were constantly trying to derail powerleveling. But it was a losing battle. Someone always finds a way. I never understood why they fought it. If people didn't want to do it, nobody was forcing them to. After a couple of years of grinding out story content, I was burnt out. I tried running only Taskforces, but after a couple years, that eventually got old too. Powerleveling myself and others kept me subscribed up until Sunset. I wasn't powerleveling 100%, but it was an option I still had when I didn't feel like story content.
  10. When the Invention setup was launched, I refused. I didn't see the point of +1.5% Defense on a power that only gave you 3% Defense already. 1.5% of 3%?? That means, that power is only giving you 3.05%. A whole .05% increase. But then, I finally downloaded Mids and started playing with it, and the sky opened up, the clouds parted, a booming voice spoke to me. I may have even floated. That's when I fully grasped the opportunities of IO's. To the point that I don't wait till I'm 50, I start getting the sets I need as soon as I can. The potential is just crazy. So now when people ask, do you think this build is okay? I respond, with IO's, you can make all builds awesome with the right combination.
  11. Whole heartedly, yes. Every character. And then some. But I actually enjoy the hunt. I'll be on the Auction House for hours looking for what I need, and for some odd reason, I enjoy that too. But the difference the IO sets make is far better than what a 50 with SO's or even basic IO's can produce. They're not even in the same league. I've spent so much influence and merits on builds, and not once have I regretted it. Oh. And hey, Abraxus! 🙂
  12. I see people LFM all time for mission teams. If you aren't, form one up. You'll be off and running in no time.
  13. I understand I may be biased, but still... Homecoming offers alternative play-styles for people with different play-styles. That's a major bonus. The fact that you end up powerleveling your character to 50 eventually means you want what many powerlevelers want - a new character with all the bells and whistles to go do content with. Most of us, if not all of us, powerlevel a character not to have another 50, but to have a new concept character or build to run Taskforces, Trials, raids, etc. And many of those individuals played pre-AE and have done the grind many many times. After grinding the first couple of 50s, we no longer even bothered reading. Just click the contact, click the mission, off I go. If there was a spacebar option like SWTOR, we'd skip the cutscenes too. I don't feel the XP in general should be increased. It's already been increased more than once during Live. If you're trying to enjoy content, racing to level up shouldn't be an issue. For me personally, in the final years of pre-Sunset, I no longer did normal grinding content. It held no appeal to me. And if it wasn't for AE, I probably would have quit playing and canceled my subscription altogether. Find what works for you. If the content isn't fast enough for you, I would suggest putting Taskforces together and just run those. Lots of XP that way and can be very enjoyable with a group.
  14. Advanced Architect Entertainment Tips & Tricks Just a brief rundown of some tricks to enhance your Story Arcs that you won't find in the Mission Architect Creator. For most of the Mission Arc Creator, there are tips above the text windows that give you a brief description and example. They are pretty self explanatory, but for a more in-depth description, visit the link by@Charlie for more information. PERSONALIZED CODES These codes will return a word based on the Player speaking to the contact. $name $level $class $supergroup: will display “No Supergroup” if unaffiliated $sirmam or SirMam $heshe or $HeShe $hishers or $HisHers $himher or $HimHer HTML TAGS You can also use basic HTML codes to enhance your text. Not all text can be enhanced however. Navigator Windows displaying the Mission Title and Objectives cannot be enhanced. And although the preview will show enhanced text for the Story Description, it will not be enhanced in the search window unfortunately. <br> will force a return starting the next line. <color #ffff00>Yellow Text</color> will return Yellow Text <b>Bold Text</b> will return Bold Text <i>Italics Text</i> will return Italics Text If you combine them <b><color #ffff00><i>Combo Text</i></color></b> will return Combo Text. Make sure to cancel out the codes in the exact reverse order. In this case, we do bold, color, and italics. Close them with italics, color, bold. UNKNOWN OR HARD-TO-FIND RESOURCES Contacts There are some Objects you can use as contacts that you won't find in the Contacts/Objects. These objects you have to search in Standard Contacts/All. Aspect of the Pillar - An Ouroboros Crystal Golden Roller - a car Locker - a set of lockers Medicine Cabinet - a cabinet of medical supplies you'd see in a doctor's office Number 204 - a giant spider bot Slot Machine Televisioin - A TV on cinderblocks surrounded by trash The Radio - a boombox radio Twilight's Son - a Nova (squid form) Kheldian In addition, this is also where you'll find the most mundane of NPC's all the way up to the Signature Heroes and Villains. 15. I was hoping that would happen! My wife would often get stopped ingame and asked if she knows me just for having my SG Vault name under her name. Now people can actually do Missions, Trials, and/or Taskforces with people they've spotted! 😄 I also added a list of all the characters I've added to the top post! I've officially reached 100% capacity, however I have more costumes than critter slots. I've removed some of the multiple submissions from the Fire Farms to make room for the last influx of costumes, but the Smashing & Lethal farms still have those multiple submissions.
  16. Thanks @dmaker! It's been a pleasure 🙂
  17. Another tidbit I'll add to @Sinfinite post to @TheSpiritFox post from 2 weeks ago. My first character on Homecoming was a Rad/Fire Brute. With no influence, I uploaded Bloody Rainbow, and went to work. I had to start with low difficulty settings, but by the time I was level 35, I was doing +4/+8. Granted, I was adding Winter Sets along the way to help out with Fire Defense, but I was relying solely on Purples. I didn't bother with any other inspiration. Just purples. Resilience caps pretty quickly with Fiery Aura, and as long as I had my Defense at 45%, Healing Flames kept my Health up. With a /monitorattribute Fire Defense window up, I made sure it stayed at 45%. If not, I died. Since the market was barren and influence was scarce at the time, you couldn't just buy enhancements. I relied on the Merit Vendor. Expensive, but Reward Merits were the only option at the time. Utilizing Converters as well as spending 100 Merits on Winter IO's, I was able to build my defense up. By the time I hit 50, I had half of what I needed. Sadly, I blew through so many Reward and Empyrean Merits, that I had to do some hard grinding to get my Incarnates. So it is doable without spending a bunch of influence. Taskforces funded a lot of it.
  18. Unfortunately, I'd have to create an entirely different group to do this. It would be a lot of extra work, but that's not what's stopping me. Creating another group, even one with only 5 critters, would put the file over the limit. It's already at 97% full. Also. For any submissions I've gotten over the last few days, I will be adding those soon. So if you haven't seen your character that you've submitted recently, you will soon!
  19. Yeah, I was ooh-ing and awe-ing as I was uploading them. I would tell call my wife, come look at this costume! Making the mission personal to Players was the only way to go which made sense to me. I'm glad I did. I'm glad people are enjoying it.
  20. @EmmySky @autographedcat @Veracor @Andrewvm We're all a bunch of masochists LOL
  21. Yes and no. I eventually started matching syllables. 3 Syllables and Bewitched was just a perfect match.

    BBCode Help

I've often posted something, and realize afterwards that there were 2 quotes I was supposed to respond to. Rather than making another consecutive post - which is usually frowned upon, I'll go back and edit the first post and manually enter the quote. But it comes out looking very generic. I was hoping there was a command for getting it to work properly, but I suppose not. The lesson here is, click the (+) button for quotes, not the (Quote) button.
  23. That's actually a perfect way to put it. Well said. You can't play as a Signature Character, but you can use it in AE. The original Bloody Rainbow farm was just that - random people with names like Barry, Joe, Austin, Grant cosplaying as familiar superheroes. Some of them even had Bios. Their life, why they were there, and what caused them to join the riot. I now wonder if I should have made them really bad versions as a joke. As an update. I've got a few new submissions to add, but for the most part, they're all uploaded to the fire farms. I'll be working on adding the rest for the S&L farms. And I will continue to add costumes as they come in. However, the AE files have a limit, and it's about maxed out. I have an idea how I might be able to shrink the file back down. A little bit of condensing and sorting may be in order.
  24. Just had a funny thought which I wish I would have thought up a long time ago, because I find it hilarious. Let's be honest. As well put together as the Cosplay costumes were, most of them would never have won an actual Comic Convention Costume Contest. Maybe a Worst Costume contest lol. But I had a thought, maybe I should have made the costumes look like this. That would have been hilarious.
