I tried to do a sky based design with sun and cloud coloration/theming. Color balance didn't want to work with me, so that and the chest emblem could use some tweaking. First costume is the light blue one, second is where I tried to incorporate night sky colors. It looks off, but figured I'd include it anyway. Guardian Angel2.costumeGuardian Angel4.costume

Maestro prefers lip-reading to sign language, and initially refused to even learn sign because he considered it an admission that he'd never regain his hearing. Even after grudgingly learning to read it (because everyone in the Fifth Column kept their entire face covered and you can't exactly lip read through that, can you), he refuses to sign himself.

When using the Elemental Order pants (Male > Lower Body > Tucked In > Pants > Elemental Order) with Leather Armor boots (Male > Lower Body > Tucked In > Boots > Leather Armor), certain animations cause a gap between the two. It's also present on the female version of the costume, albeit less obviously. Screenshots are taken from the Eagles Claw animation on Blaster's Martial Combat set, but I first noticed the issue while sniping while hovering with Energy Blast's alternate animation customization. Might apply to other boots as well, though I haven't done any testing to that effect.

Spines or Savage Melee with Bio Armor that's been recolored bright red, paired with a costume with extensive use of the Bio-Organic pattern (pink and red) can give a nice base layer for a horror game style of biological flesh monster. For a ranged/Sentinel option, Storm or Water blast lets you have nasty looking mist spraying attacks that can give a real disease-spreading look when recolored.

Aside from the helmet? Not very, in my opinion - lots of unique parts. Here's my attempt anyway. Buckled Leather is to try to represent all the straps restraining Mu Mystics' limbs, while his actual belt was taken from Archmage Tarxius's outfit. Mu base2.costume

This is Noanne Aesthetic; she's a back alley surgeon shamelessly inspired by this Surgeon Simulator 2 fan song.

Psionic Melee/Electric Armor/Soul Mastery Scrapper. The concept was of a Primal Earth hero who is essentially an Awakened Mindstorm. Due to her refusal to stop using her powers to help others, she's slowly losing physical form and becoming a living storm of psionic energy (an Immanence, in other words). I initially used Power Surge for the effect (the crash even fits thematically!), but it's become an emergencies only thing now that I've managed to get Shadow Meld down to 30 seconds of recharge with haste. She spends about half her time incorporeal now, which is good enough for me. Swinging psi blades around has been fun, and she still does pretty well despite the mistakes I made slotting her build.

My first thought of how time and sound intersect was the Doppler Effect. Diagrams of it often look like the Optic chest detail, so I combined that with the fact that both sets' animations consist mostly of spirals to make the top. She's vaguely urban fantasy because a lot of the more typically magical chest options exclude the clock belt entirely (looking at you, Bolero.) and it felt like an integral piece for displaying her time powers. Black and white because color theory is hard. Doppler2.costume

What are you going to pair with Storm Blast when it goes live?
VeiledOwl replied to biostem's topic in General Discussion
Storm Blast/Poison Corruptor. The plan is to present the combination as an aerosolized biochemical weapon, with the lightning attacks being explained away as some sort of tech stolen for use against things immune to the toxins. -
What's the smallest change to CoX that you really want?

For the Atlas Park Safeguard mission to trigger the robbery when I approach the bank's entrance (like the other safeguard missions) instead of making me wait several minutes. -

Controller - Darkness Control/Electrical Affinity Not a big fan of controllers, but alright. Made a suit of power armor that electrocuted its wearer, then slowly developed shadow powers due to the death energies trapped inside the armor. It wasn't until a hero knocked the helmet off while it was robbing a bank that anyone realized the pilot was dead. -
Chainmail is good at breaking up some of the less sharply defined patterns, but it's unfortunately difficult to get a good white and grey contrast with. If you want total static, Psych, Circuitry, or Cheetah 1 seem to work alright. For partial, I liked the looks of Arctic, Baroque, and Layer Stripe. Malaise can work too, if you want mild rainbow static - white primary, medium grey secondary. Mesh blends into it too well - no contrast - but might work with things that aren't chainmail. Can't say I'm completely satisfied with any of them as static, though.

She's very loosely inspired by two characters in Spread Your Wings by Araceil. It's a fanfiction story set in a Chinese Fantasy about a human cultivator who time travels back to his teens after he died. Rather than try to redo his frankly terrible life, he flees to the demon realm to live in peace. Due to his skill in craftsmanship (making silk from the cocoons of a rare species of moth whose life cycle is a single night, amidst other talents) he gets mistaken as a reclusive moth demon who only comes to town every few months to sell his wares. He even made a pair of fully functioning wings from the silk at one point, which really helped sell the moth demon thing. He's friendly with a spider demon who is also a silk vendor in the village (who eats her husbands, not humans) due to both of them being insect demons and silk weavers. I remember he wore lots of pure white silk, which was a threat display than signaled a quick death to any demons that attacked him. And a lot tried kidnapping him due to skilled crafters being a rare and prized commodity. No actual human hunting in the story as far as I remember, though. My character's just a jerk. I would have provided a link instead of a summary, but the author appears to have made the story private (probably to deal with the writing AI bots that scrape the site for training data without the author's consent).

Wanted to do something with the Spider Web wings, ended up making a Chinese spider demon that likes to hunt humans.

I had a hard time balancing the colors to look good, so I just split them into two outfits. Red: LIthe Spectre4.costume Blue: LIthe Spectre5.costume

I basically just took a bunch of stuff you'd see on metal album art (skulls, chains, fire, demons, etc.) and combined them into one guy. The corpse paint makes it kind of hard to see the skull's metallic shine - I probably should have gone a couple shades darker, but oh well. The power customization is from an old, shelved attempt to make a metal manipulator (couldn't come up with a proper character concept) - this variant was a Seismic/Bio Sentinel. Not sure it fits your concept, but tossed it in anyway. Metalhead1.costumeMetal Sent.powerCust

Here's my take along with a list of what parts I found cephalopod-y: Full Helmet > Elongated Skull (Squid-shaped head) Chest & Legs > Tights Pattern > Malaise (Cephalopods color-shifting abilities. Also a nod towards psychedelic/hypnotism. Blend pattern is also useful on hands/feet when paired with Malaise in this regard) Chest Detail > Symbols > Eldritch Back Detail > Wings > Celestial Wings - Always Open (Looks sort of like reaching tentacles when in motion) The glowing blue is mostly due to me listening to Darkest Dungeon's Color of Madness soundtrack while working on it, but I felt it fit. The costume could still use some work to look more overlord-y, but I ran out of inspiration so it's more of a base layer. Cephalopod1.costumeCephalopod1-M.costume

The first costume is based off in-game PPD SWAT; it's mostly a mixture of Equalizer and Officer with a bit of Praetorian PD since the bulletproof vest is unavailable in the creator. The second outfit's my attempt to make it a medieval mix. Swat Knight1.costumeSwat Knight2.costume

This is the Crystal Missile, an extradimensional magi-tech foot soldier who got sent to explore a dimensional rift. It closed behind her, trapping in Primal Earth. Rather than approach Portal Corp to go home, she treated it as a chance to freely engage in mad science without her superiors breathing down her neck. She's spending her 'vacation' as a gem thief; her goal is to test out the harmonic frequencies of all of Primal Earth's crystals-- and to see how well they can be weaponized. Unarmored: Armored:

Zone/Mission: V_Arachnos_45_Layout_01_03p Position: [148.1 14.2 -289.1] From the mission to defeat Operative Dominic from Willy Wheeler. There's a hole in the map that allows enemies (and the player) to go out of the base - I only noticed it because one of the patrols walked into it while I was fighting another mob. Hop on top of that red-ringed pipe above my character's left wing, and you see the hole. Go in, and you'll drop down to the floor below. I'm using flight for this picture so you can get a better look: This is only occurring in the bottom left corner - I tested the top corner since the geometry repeats, but that one had an invisible wall.

Theme Music – Every Good Hero Should Have Some
VeiledOwl replied to Ulysses Dare's topic in Art & Multimedia
My latest character, Hewer Skewer, is a low level Freak who stole a stop sign and a sharp slab of metal, then went to town with both. His goal in life is to earn his Excelsior port so he can hack his arms off and replace them with his weapons. -
The editor couldn't load the jacket's settings, so its inner colors are wrong in the costume files I've posted. That's why I'm listing the changes I made so they can be applied manually if desired. I didn't alter much - it's less Terminator and more 'your evil robot doppelganger didn't have time to put on their fake skin before you busted down the door to their hideout'. Head > Face > Skull Metal > Skull Metal (white or light grey for both colors). Keeping the scarred face works just as well if you don't want her to go full robot. Detail 2 > None (or keeping Rebreather 6) Chest > Clockwork Belt > Labeaux (similar to Jewel, but accentuates clockwork-ness) Legs > Clockwork Head > Helmets > Praetoria Police (primary color white or light grey) Other ideas I didn't implement: Changing pieces of the shoulders/gloves/boots to either bulkier or skeletal mechanical-looking options. Keeping asymmetry would probably work. A bulky shoulder/glove combo overbalanced on one side for a arm cannon look, maybe? Some form of sunglasses for the Schwarzenegger look A palette swap for the evil version Glare terminator.costumeGlare terminator1.costume

I ran out of steam after the head, but here's my attempt anyway. Some earthy browns would probably work well for breaking up all the green. Gremlin3.costume
