I basically just took a bunch of stuff you'd see on metal album art (skulls, chains, fire, demons, etc.) and combined them into one guy. The corpse paint makes it kind of hard to see the skull's metallic shine - I probably should have gone a couple shades darker, but oh well. The power customization is from an old, shelved attempt to make a metal manipulator (couldn't come up with a proper character concept) - this variant was a Seismic/Bio Sentinel. Not sure it fits your concept, but tossed it in anyway. Metalhead1.costumeMetal Sent.powerCust

Here's my take along with a list of what parts I found cephalopod-y: Full Helmet > Elongated Skull (Squid-shaped head) Chest & Legs > Tights Pattern > Malaise (Cephalopods color-shifting abilities. Also a nod towards psychedelic/hypnotism. Blend pattern is also useful on hands/feet when paired with Malaise in this regard) Chest Detail > Symbols > Eldritch Back Detail > Wings > Celestial Wings - Always Open (Looks sort of like reaching tentacles when in motion) The glowing blue is mostly due to me listening to Darkest Dungeon's Color of Madness soundtrack while working on it, but I felt it fit. The costume could still use some work to look more overlord-y, but I ran out of inspiration so it's more of a base layer. Cephalopod1.costumeCephalopod1-M.costume

The first costume is based off in-game PPD SWAT; it's mostly a mixture of Equalizer and Officer with a bit of Praetorian PD since the bulletproof vest is unavailable in the creator. The second outfit's my attempt to make it a medieval mix. Swat Knight1.costumeSwat Knight2.costume

This is the Crystal Missile, an extradimensional magi-tech foot soldier who got sent to explore a dimensional rift. It closed behind her, trapping in Primal Earth. Rather than approach Portal Corp to go home, she treated it as a chance to freely engage in mad science without her superiors breathing down her neck. She's spending her 'vacation' as a gem thief; her goal is to test out the harmonic frequencies of all of Primal Earth's crystals-- and to see how well they can be weaponized. Unarmored: Armored:

Zone/Mission: V_Arachnos_45_Layout_01_03p Position: [148.1 14.2 -289.1] From the mission to defeat Operative Dominic from Willy Wheeler. There's a hole in the map that allows enemies (and the player) to go out of the base - I only noticed it because one of the patrols walked into it while I was fighting another mob. Hop on top of that red-ringed pipe above my character's left wing, and you see the hole. Go in, and you'll drop down to the floor below. I'm using flight for this picture so you can get a better look: This is only occurring in the bottom left corner - I tested the top corner since the geometry repeats, but that one had an invisible wall.

Theme Music – Every Good Hero Should Have Some

My latest character, Hewer Skewer, is a low level Freak who stole a stop sign and a sharp slab of metal, then went to town with both. His goal in life is to earn his Excelsior port so he can hack his arms off and replace them with his weapons. -
The editor couldn't load the jacket's settings, so its inner colors are wrong in the costume files I've posted. That's why I'm listing the changes I made so they can be applied manually if desired. I didn't alter much - it's less Terminator and more 'your evil robot doppelganger didn't have time to put on their fake skin before you busted down the door to their hideout'. Head > Face > Skull Metal > Skull Metal (white or light grey for both colors). Keeping the scarred face works just as well if you don't want her to go full robot. Detail 2 > None (or keeping Rebreather 6) Chest > Clockwork Belt > Labeaux (similar to Jewel, but accentuates clockwork-ness) Legs > Clockwork Head > Helmets > Praetoria Police (primary color white or light grey) Other ideas I didn't implement: Changing pieces of the shoulders/gloves/boots to either bulkier or skeletal mechanical-looking options. Keeping asymmetry would probably work. A bulky shoulder/glove combo overbalanced on one side for a arm cannon look, maybe? Some form of sunglasses for the Schwarzenegger look A palette swap for the evil version Glare terminator.costumeGlare terminator1.costume

I ran out of steam after the head, but here's my attempt anyway. Some earthy browns would probably work well for breaking up all the green. Gremlin3.costume

I associate stained glass with church windows, which lead to the idea of a stained glass angel warrior. Then my mind went glass > prism > light > rainbow when I was trying to decide a color palette. Coloration has always been my weak point, so I just went with it instead of trying to figure out something more conventional. It would likely look better with a more cohesive color scheme, though. When I made a Mastermind with Electrical Affinity, I saw that I could select Heroic or Villainous coloration in the customization options. At the time, I thought it was the same for other electric sets. Turns out it isn't - for most sets, you've got original, bright, and dark (with the occasional 'cast' option, The original color is tied to whether they were originally a heroic or villainous AT, which is fine thematically but I'd like it if I could select Heroic or Villainous in their customization rather than futz about trying to replicate it exactly with Bright Electricity on the opposite AT. (e.g. red lightning armor tanker, blue lightning armor brute) Other than Electric Control, most sets already have red and blue options depending on the archetype they're on, so it doesn't seem like it'd be too difficult to do. But I'm not a programmer, admittedly.

I tried. It doesn't really feel Gandalf-y enough to me, but figured I'd share anyway. I may have gotten a bit too focused on the robe skirt idea - the pants in Erratic1's design might work better, and the belt could probably be removed entirely. It's only there to sharpen the shape of the kilt anyway. Gandalfattempt.costume

That's an awesome idea I hadn't even considered - I'll have to try that next time I play the character

Normal Mode: Nictus Mode: I couldn't get the colors quite right, but the Malaise tights pattern is meant to look like solidified Umbral Energy.

Project Phosphor (Fire/Rad scrapper villain) is a teenager who was kidnapped and experimented on against his will. He now constantly exudes white phosphorus from his body, making his very existence a war crime.

In Doctor Arvin's mission Find Patient Zero in Praetoria, the Manslayer holding the homeless woman hostage is missing his description: BOSS_DISPLAYINFO is the only thing in the text box. Not sure if it's a mission specific thing or if other Manslayers have the same issue. T.E.S.T. Provost from Doctor Steffard's mission Aprehend Seer 0293 has the same thing in his description. In Nerva Archipelago, Psimon Omega's mission 'Steal ore sample, research data' has the send off dialog say "There's a boat waiting at the docs to take you to Paragon City." instead of docks.

Choosing Powersets via Random Color Generator Sometimes, you just want to make a new character, but have no idea what you want to play. Hopefully, this thread can help. When I was trying to figure out how to color a costume I had created, I came across a random color generator. Then I got the idea of repurposing it as a semi-random character creator, matching the colors generated to a powerset's icon color. I don't know if anyone else will be interested in the method, but I've used it to make a couple characters now and thought I'd share. Unfortunately, you'll have to do some work to figure out your results, but that also gives you some flexibility of choice. Method: go to this generator (or any other that you prefer) and generate two colors. Next, look for a power set with icons colored as close a match to the generated color as you can. It'll almost never be perfect - just try your best. There's a color-coded list below to expedite the process (though it's far from definitive). I suggest starting with whichever result color has fewer possible choices - that helps narrow down options quicker. For example, here I've gotten the results Azure Blue and Clay Brown. As there are a ton of shades of blue, we'll start with brown. This color's brightness has two options: Seismic Blast or Earth Manipulation. For simplicity's sake, we'll take Earth Manipulation since it's only available to one archetype: Blasters. Now, we need to find a blue close to the picture. Dark Blast looks closest to me, so our result will be a Dark Blast/Earth Manipulation Blaster. Another feasible result would be combining Dark Miasma and Seismic Blast on either a Corruptor or Defender. Storm Summoning could also work. Now that you've got your powers, figure out why your character has them and how they synergize into a single concept. For the given example, my first idea would be that the character's power source is some sort of dark, mystical gemstone (possibly stolen from Oranbega). They could be a mystic, an archaeologist, or even just a thief that got lucky on a robbery and decided to try their luck in the big leagues. They could even be some kind of mystical creature that forms and harnesses the gemstones' power naturally! Not all color combos will be compatible (or even options; looking at you, yellow.). Dark pink and bright red, for example would give you the choices of Pain Domination combined with Claws or Energy Melee. As there's no melee + support archetype, you'll have to scrap this one (or give it life as an AE-only custom enemy). If you get an unworkable result, just reroll. Is there an easier way to do this? Probably. Am I a programmer? No, so manual selection it is. Below, I've broken up the various power sets into rough, color coded categories. Please note that some of these color classifications are subjective and could fit multiple spots. Others (such as Storm Summoning) don't entirely fit the color brightness they're listed under. This list has been sitting in my documents a while, so I can't remember why I put some powers in certain spots. As such, I suggest checking adjacent or similar shades when in doubt. Bright blue and bright teal, for instance. Keep in mind that no sets are pure black. Instead, I've mostly listed power set icons that are darker than the majority. Color List: For comparisons (and to quickly reference which AT has access to which sets), you can use https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Primary_Power_Sets and https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Secondary_Power_Sets Pink - Archery, Martial Arts, Super Strength, Spines* Dark Pink - Pain Domination Bright Red - Claws, Energy Melee Dark Red - Martial Combat, Necromancy, Savage Melee, Street Justice Pale Orange - Fiery Aura*, Fire Blast, Stone Melee, Thermal Radiation Bright Orange - Fire Control, Fire Manipulation, Fiery Melee Yellow - None. Yes, really, none. Reroll. Pale Green - Radiation Armor, Radiation Emission, Regeneration Bright Green - Atomic Manipulation, Empathy, Plant Control, Poison, Radiation Blast, Radiation Melee Dark Green - Bio Armor, Nature Affinity, Plant Manipulation Pale Teal - Cold Domination, Force Field Teal - Energy Aura, Gravity Control, Ice Control, Ice Melee, Invulnerability, Mercenaries Dark Teal - Beam Rifle, Kinetics Pale Blue - Cold Domination, Electric Armor, Electric Control, Electricity Manipulation, Electrical Melee, Energy Blast, Ice Armor, Ice Blast, Ice Manipulation, Willpower* Bright Blue - Electrical Affinity, Electrical Blast, Energy Manipulation, Ice Melee, Shield Defense, Storm Summoning*, Water Blast Dark Blue - Dark Armor*, Dark Blast, Darkness Control, Darkness Manipulation, Dark Miasma, Dark Melee Pale Purple - Psychic Blast, Tactical Arrow Bright Purple - Illusion Control, Mind Control, Super Reflexes Dark Purple - Demon Summoning, Mental Manipulation, Ninja Training, Ninjitsu, Temporal Manipulation, Time Manipulation, Trick Arrow Black - Darkness Control, Darkness Manipulation, Dark Melee, Demon Summoning, Martial Combat, Necromancy, Ninja Training, Ninjitsu, Savage Assault, Savage Melee, Street Justice, Temporal Manipulation White - Sonic Attack, Sonic Resonance Light/Pale Grey - Sonic Attack, Sonic Resonance, Staff Fighting Grey - Assault Rifle, Robotics, Sonic Manipulation, Willpower* Dark Grey - Battle Axe, Broad Sword, Devices, Dual Blades, Ninja Blade, Titan Weapons, War Mace Light/Pale Brown - Beast Mastery, Earth Control, Spines, Stone Melee, Stone Armor Brown - Earth Manipulation, Seismic Blast Other (aka I don't know how to classify this color, so it gets its own section) Greyish Green - Dual Pistols, Robotics, Thugs Dark Greyish Green - Devices Blue-Grey - Willpower Grey Brown - Sonic Manipulation Dark Brownish Grey - Traps * = Iffy categorization. There are other sets unmarked that could also qualify. Some examples from my own results: Anthracite Grey + Pearl Orange = Savage Melee/Fiery Aura Stalker. Concept: Demonic or volcanic ambush predator. Pastel Violet + Ocean Blue = Dark Blast/Tactical Arrow Blaster. Concept: Stealthy big game hunter with darkness powers. Bows are quieter than guns, so its used to trap or corral more dangerous targets without giving away position. In this instance, 'big game' = Hellfrosts, Greater Devoured, Warwolves, etc. Rose + Traffic Green = Energy Melee/Bio Armor Brute. Concept: Alien nanotech that absorbs ambient solar energy, then converts it into armor and visible, physical attacks. Salmon Orange + Sky Blue = Fire Control/Storm Summoning Controller. Concept: Magical artifact that allows the wielder to harness the power of the sun and skies. Beige Red + Blue Lilac (which is actually purple) = Archery/Trick Arrow Defender. Concept: Ex-Wyvern agent who went independent and/or evil. Not very creative, but bows have never sparked any inspiration for me. Feel free to take or leave your own power combos if you find one that looks interesting, but just isn't your style.

I didn't think to take a screenshot/copy dialogue at the time, but in the mission 'Defeat Lt. Krieg and Crew' from Lt. Demitrovich in Nerva Archipelago (her Nullifer gun arc, specifically), Lt. Krieg's dialog is messed up. The wiki says his lines are supposed to be '...' and 'Uh, no.' but the ellipse and comma were bugged and replaced with something else. I can't recall exactly what, just that it was obviously wrong.
