Rogue Isles Villains SG problems Help! ?? !!!
TheMoneyMaker replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
If this had happened to me, I would have asked for "We Were Here First" as the replacement name. -
Mender Lazarus is a cheapskate. Don't do no TF for him.

Is it okay to body shame Dr. Vahzilok? That guy is hideous.

Get a badge for being power leveled to 50? Why would anyone want that?
-
You put a high damage attack on all enemy types to see how it would fare. It was Knockout Blow, of course even at minion level damage it's going to hurt. But those attacks come less frequently in regular attack chains and yes --although more powerful critters can one-shot player squishies-- it's normal and to be expected that you might get randomly taken down by a powerful hit. Work on your defense for weaker critters attacks, and make sure the more powerful ones are focused on someone else. This was normal and expected in the old days, and meant to encourage teaming. Sorry if your defender isn't soloing AVs. Even if some people can, that shouldn't be the norm.

"Street" Giant Monsters and guaranteed elimination
TheMoneyMaker replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
I just enjoyed the subverted expectation of an GMs granting a badge. Mapserver was like "check this out: NAAAAH!" -
"Street" Giant Monsters and guaranteed elimination
TheMoneyMaker replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
As long as there's still no badge for defeating it. That was the best part about him in the event. -
Just some suggestions I would like to see: Giant monsters themes, maybe not all of them but a couple of the usual ones could be fun. Event themes, and Halloween is coming. So much potential there but maybe something christmassy for the Winter Event if Halloween is too soon. The Summer Blockbuster is just begging for a pair of songs, one for each half... a theme for Time Gladiator and another for The Casino Heist. Great stuff all around, though. Looking forward to more whatever you do.

"Street" Giant Monsters and guaranteed elimination
TheMoneyMaker replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
I was just spitballing ideas. I like the GMs we have and don't want to see too much done to change them because why are they suddenly more powerful or whatever beyond just some people want a tougher challenge. New GMs with additional elements are definitely the way to go. I don't know how possible any of my suggestions were but the ideas are whats important, because even if they can't be done maybe they could inspire other ideas that could like your suggestion of using the Crimson Prototype somewhere else. -
"Street" Giant Monsters and guaranteed elimination
TheMoneyMaker replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
I think we need some new giant monsters with some exciting twists to make them more challenging and interesting. For example: Maybe spawning in the Abandoned Sewer Network in the big rooms is a mutated Kraken-like monster with tentacles both coming out of its body and additional independent tentacles coming out of the muck; maybe not as powerful as Lusca tentacles where you have to fight each one independently, but the extra tentacles count as EBs and are strong enough to slow you down against the main critter but they're a distraction that yield low XP despite EB status. No matter how many tentacles you kill, more keep spawning until the GM is defeated. Maybe another Clockwork monster but throw in some parts from other mechanical critters....like throw a couple Freakshow modifications on there, replace one of its arms with a Malta mecha gun arm and the other arm with a Council robot's energy blast arm or replace its head with the Zenith Hoverbot and its missiles and have it go nuts with a flurry of electric and missile attacks. A Devouring Earth critter like Jurassik that has been corrupted by the dark magics of the Circle of Thorns. Replace the giant car-hammer with red crystalline hammer from the war mace or TW sets and have it do a big DoT life drain effect like those red crystals in CoT maps in addition to the bludgeoning damage. Maybe also give it some Spectral Daemon Lord wings and flight to indicate that it's a DE that's been possessed by a CoT spirit and also let it follow after people that try to stay out of range by flying. This could be used in both Paragon City and Rogue Isles. We have various "normal" sized 5th Column robots and a pair of mega-sized robots in the advanced mode ITF. Why not take one of the Aereus Colossi robots and shrink it down to regular GM proportions and call it a prototype of the big guys, then have it unleashed occasionally on Striga as a means of striking at the Council and not caring about who might get stepped on in the process. Have it armored against every kind of attack and is highly resistant to debuffs so that there's no weakness to rely on, and you just have to grind away while it takes shots at everyone in range. Striga is for heroes and villains now, so everyone can get a chance at it regardless of alignment. -
What is Meant by "Weak" or "Underperforming" Powersets?
TheMoneyMaker replied to Waljoricar's topic in General Discussion
For those sets that perform better or adequately at moderate difficulty rather than those that do well at +4/x8, just remember that those that do fine against the +4/x8 do even better when they are played at moderate difficulty too. But the real underperformers should be fixed to be brought up to perform as well as the middle tier powersets. -
Wouldn't mastermind primary as the commander secondary be a better choice? You'd have pets and damage powers to deal damage and level you up.

Superheroes get defeated all the time and manage to survive. Crazy plot armor or whatever... it's part of the genre. \ -
There is the spiked collar in the Shoulders area for some reason, but there are also a pair of Detail 2 options in Head that encircle the character's neck
-
Most of them have options to choose from, depending on which aura you might have some options limited while others have most areas available and can even select right or left or both hands

You're right I don't agree to those rules because they're silly. Being knocked out isn't dying. -
Playing by Iron Man rules. Do I live or die?
TheMoneyMaker replied to AyamSirias's topic in General Discussion
Per iron man rules, death = final death. You shouldn't use watching to see how the mission played out as an excuse. Iron man rules are a little stricter than real life, if you ask me. I know I've been so close to leveling that one win would put me over the top and I'd keep fighting even close to death only to be defeated and DOT damage on an enemy I was fighting finish them off and wake me back up again. The question for me is does defeat = death? I think there should be a time requirement. If you're on a solo mission and the lucky scenario above doesn't happen to you, then you're out of luck. If you're defeated and on a team, there should be a time limit where someone can come along to deliver first aid. In the spirit of the iron man rules, you shouldn't continue playing after being defeated because defeat = death, but I think that's a little too strict and kinda silly. -
With the new single eye aura options it would be great to have more than one aura so you could pick a different one for each eye and maybe even a third option for something else like hands or body or whatever. Or two different hand auras plus more. So many aura combinations would be really cool if they could be used independently with other aura effects. It looks like there's possibility of adding a lot of auras, so maybe a good way to go would be add one aura slot for each area of the body that an aura exists for and you can select something for each area or nothing at all.

Power Set Suggestion: Insect Blast
TheMoneyMaker replied to MagicalAct's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I would much rather see a creepy crawlies control set -
I would love to see the fishbowl head detail with water in it. Some characters need a helmet to keep a proper atmosphere in, and for some that atmosphere is liquid.

Changing Origins (Null the Gull)
TheMoneyMaker replied to Perma-Newbie's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
In all the time the game was active before the shutdown... in all the time work was being done on the secret servers... in all the time since the game came back and its code was released into the wild... why has no one ever bothered to untangle the spaghetti and introduce a revised code without some of the hard coded restrictions? oh wait, I know. Because it would be too much work. No one was getting paid enough to start over in the old days. Secret server development was focused more on just getting the game to work again. And currently everything is free and pretty much working here and the other independent servers, and no one is or can really get paid to do anything of the sort. It's the kind of thing that would have to be done as a labor of love... by someone with both the talent and the money not to have to worry about showing up at a real job so they can eat and keep the lights on at home. Maybe one day AI can sort it all out. -
Gender Equality!! MM Thugs/Zombies/Merc/Ninja
TheMoneyMaker replied to MidnightCry's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
In this day and age, no argument for barring anything by gender holds any merit unless people are willing to definitively state that gender is defined by appearance. Otherwise your standard thugs or mercenaries could identify as female. Granted they are NPCs and can't identify as anything for themselves but the MM player can emote speech for them to proclaim their pronouns and gender and thus identify them as women, so any harems you see may look one way but don't assume anything because that way lies cancel culture.
