Free badge process is easy to address: don't use the self-rez that removes the debt, use inspirations (including the level up full inspiration bonus), or have one of the two rez powers available from the START vendor, or wait until a teammate rezzes you, or go to the hospital or your base. Dead isn't dead in COH, even for the non-regen heroes. But maybe the Regen characters should have a little something extra for their rez power since dying is so expected.

That cat looks.....special.

Using self-rez isn't an admission of the set not being counted on to keep you alive. Dying and getting back up are a feature, not a failing. The fact that other sets have healing and self-rez powers means there's overlap, but it should be the focus of regen. In addition to the buffs suggested by the OP, I would add that use of the Regen self-rez should erase the XP debt from your previous death because debt is meant to slow down your advancement for failing, but if dying is expected of the set then you shouldn't be punished for it.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I have a fire farmer that is a Dark/Rad Tanker. Dark Armor boasts some impressive resistances and includes both defense and resistance, a heal (to compliment the rad melee heal), and a damage aura like Spines or Fire. With Rad Melee's aura, you've got two damage auras going, two heals, good fire resistance, and defense all built in. Throw in your incarnate powers and the Dark/Rad Tanker is a beast that also does well outside the farms in regular play.

Also I picked up Moodswing and Irresistable.

I lost Kickstorm on Excel, so I had something someone wanted

I'd love to see a mini event that has the Infected popping up all over the city and Rogue Isles, like their numbers have been quietly growing over time and all of a sudden something's riled them up and got them attacking. Send out a notice on the appropriate hero or villain warnings channel that a zone is being overrun and have them spawn where ever players are like zombie or Nemesis invasions. All it needs is to build the existing mobs as levelless versions, add an EB version, give them either a leader or something else that's driving their fury, and maybe come up with a badge or two.

So this morning I was just running around with some lowbie characters to log them in and reset the name timer, and I saw a pair of Infected in Atlas Park in the SW corner a little ways away from Back Alley Brawler. This is weird right?

Nah.

Standardization now!

Thanks. 🤝

And this is what I'm calling out as not feeling right to me. you're looking at it through the lens of everyone must be treated "fairly" when that's clearly not even happening with Null the Gull at level 1 able to change alignments directly from Hero to Villain or vice versa without even jumping through the intermediary step, but goldsiders have to play through 20 levels and can't do outside content until they do leave, and don't get the choice to pick Rogue or Vigilante or opposite of whichever side the chose until they get to 20 and leave. You're debating rules while I'm having a philosophical look at the issue. Different conversations and I'm not interested in the one you want, which is why I started it the way I did.

Why don't you just go back to enjoying the names as they are and I'll continue to have a good laugh at your expense? Seriously, I don't know what justification or deeper meaning you were looking for, I just pointed out inconsistencies and you made me laugh. I call this a lose-win-win.
-
Original explanation stands: the powerset naming convention frequently breaks from its standards for no apparent reason. I suggested altering the names of some to make them more consistent. End of story....until you decided that somehow the names matter to how much those powersets can be enjoyed.
-
I don't see a reason to answer the question because I found it laughable. as for the burden of explaining why they should change, I already gave that explanation. Your choice to reject it does not mean I am obligated to explain further to your satisfaction additional questions you want to pose.
-
And praetorian characters have to start as Loyalist or Resistance and cannot become vigilantes and rogues until after they leave praetoria, not even with Null the Gull's help. So there you go, the red/blue side have an unfair advantage over gold. How you gonna fix that? Praetorian characters aren't just starting the game, though. yes they're starting on Primal Earth, but they've put 20 (possibly more) levels in already and that should be taken into account instead of treating them like level 1 new characters. So, sorry, but you have failed to convince me. Your logic is flawed and your attempts to cling to status quo because that's what you deem is fair don't change my mind in the least.

"tearing that away" That's rich. Like somehow the powersets and enjoyment of them is intrinsically hitched to the name of the sets. Thanks. I haven't laughed that much all week.

Did you try Chemist? What about Catalyst? Concoction? Cold Brew? Strange Brew?

congrats! 😎

That's a weak argument. In fact, I wouldn't even call it an argument because you defeated it yourself by pointing out that anyone can change alignment at any time by going to Null the Gull. But what fair? What advantage does choosing Vigilante or Rogue upon leaving Praetoria grant to players? One could argue that the entirety of their time in Praetoria is the equivalent of working toward their alignment mission. So what if they get to make the choice at level 20 when Heroes and Villains only start getting the tip missions at 20? Heroes have the advantage of a much higher player participation to team with, so if you're going to talk fair then try to make that balance work.

I beg to differ. It can be renamed as Dark Affinity. If anything, give the Dark Miasma name to controllers' secondary . Agreed. I don't think everything that I listed actively needs change, but I figured once I started listing the inconsistencies, I might as well point them all out. I'd be happy with Super Strength staying the same, and I'm open to the idea of breaking from the theme for specific things. I'm just saying more uniformity would be nice. If someone mentions Dark Affinity about controllers, it shouldn't be confusing to new players that it's not a defender power set. Time Manipulation definitely sounds like a blaster secondary, and it isn't helped that blasters have a secondary called Temporal Manipulation. But really, it's Sonic Attack that got me started on it all. It's a blast set. Why wouldn't it be called Sonic Blast? It irks me and I think it needs to change.
-
You're right, it isn't needed. It would make things look neater, just like renaming all of the Ancillary pools did. And while it isn't needed, it wouldn't exactly be difficult or change how the game plays.
-
Hard disagree

I really like that the names of the ancillary pools got changed to be more uniform, but I feel like that change didn't go far enough. Ignoring specific ranged attack sets that have a weapon (Archery, Assault Rifle, Beam Rifle, Dual Pistols), all of the other ranged attack sets are <damage type> Blast. Except for sonic which is called Sonic Attack. For Blaster secondaries, I'll also give a pass on Devices and Tactical Arrow, but we have Martial Combat and Ninja Training. Can't they both be <type> Combat or Training? Support sets are all over the place. Cold and Pain Domination Electrical, Marine, and Nature Affinity Radiation Emission Thermal Radiation Dark Miasma Force Field Sonic Resonance Storm Summoning Time Manipulation and then the one word descriptions of Empathy, Kinetics, Poison, and Traps Couldn't we narrow these down to like 2 or 3 "types"? Like let's drop Domination because it feels like something that belongs to the Dominator AT. Time Manipulation seems too close to Temporal Manipulation, the blaster secondary, and Storm Summoning feels like it should be exclusive to pet ATs. How about something like this: Cold Affinity Dark Affinity Electrical Affinity Empathy (stays the same) Force Field (stays the same) Kinetics (stays the same) Marine Affinity (stays the same) Nature Affinity (stays the same) Pain (or maybe Pain Affinity) Poison (stays the same) Radiation Emission (stays the same) Storm Affinity Thermal Emission Time Affinity Traps (stays the same) Trick Arrow (stays the same) Control sets are all <type> Control, so they're good on both Controllers and Dominators. Even Dominator secondaries are all <type> Assault. Perfection. Most of the melees' armor sets are Armor, and I can forgive the ones that aren't. "Invulnerability Armor" sounds either OP or lame, take your pick. And the attack forms are pretty much all <damage type> Melee or named for the weapon they use. The only melee names that stick out like a sore thumb to me are Staff Fighting and Street Justice. Could just as easily have called Staff Fighting just Staff. Broad Sword isn't Broad Sword Fighting, Katana isn't Katana Fighting. I'd have accepted Staff Melee since it fits with the other attack types, but unless we get Staff Blast, Staff Control, Staff Assault, and or Staff Defense, calling it Staff Fighting seems unnecessary. And Street Justice could have been called Street Fighting but probably wasn't due to the Capcom game, but why not Street Melee? For the hell of it, I'd also say Super Strength could be renamed as Strength Melee. It never felt very super to me anyway. Masterminds primary sets are all named for the either for the creatures summoned or the typical method behind the summoning. Beasts and Demons are Mastery and Summoning respectively. Could drop the second word and they'd be fine. Beasts Demons Mercenaries (stays the same) Ninjas (stays the same) Robots Thugs (stays the same) Undead

Eh, I just think it's too much a leap. Like you say you can help heroes as a vigilante and you can seek power as a rogue, so you can join a side without fully committing to it. Why does leaving force you to commit entirely? Like I'm sure the respective sides you have to pick from would prefer you be pure good or evil, but it just doesn't resonate with me. "I gotta pick a side if I'm leaving Praetoria, so I'd better commit until I change my mind." Lame. The original devs set up this whole alignment changing thing and force you to go right to one of the main two to start instead of choosing from all four. Sorry, you're not going to sell me on the original vision of it. I think it's a flawed outlook.
