Some more Suggestions that made it into the game: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/1887-rikti-training-dummies-outside-of-the-warzone/ https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/2926-energy-aura-for-tanks/ https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/4123-put-the-statesman-task-force-and-lord-recluse-strike-force-back-as-they-were/ I was working my way from oldest to most recent, but I'm still in 2019 and I'm tired of looking. Also, can we please not resort to name-calling?

I sense declining excellence in this thread.

I found one! COMPARE: TO:
-
I went to look and decided to start at the very end of the list, thinking that maybe something discussed long ago had filtered it's way up. When I saw that we had 381 pages of suggestion topics, I gave up that endeavor. However, allow me to flip the question on the group and ask you to take a look at the list of changes made in Issues 26, 27, and 28. (https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Issues) I think you will find in those lists things that have been requested by players over the last few years, as well as things no one asked for. But I've been giving this some thought and maybe there could be a "Brainstorm" subforum. Under traditional brainstorm rules you just state an idea with no commentary or critique. That may not be feasible with our forum tech because it would have to automatically lock the thread after the first post. No edits, no comments, no emojis.
-
I just went through all the non-sticky posts on page one of Suggestions & Feedback subforum. It's better than I thought it was going to be. Some agreed with suggestions, some disagreed, some offered explanations, some offered alternatives, a few people joked, very few were insulting. Maybe the "Idea Police" are more prevalent on older threads.
-
Guidance and coaching: Quoting and disputing everyone else and insulting them, even if backhanded, does not contribute to a healthy discussion that others want to join in.
-
If you hover over a name a little pop-up box comes up and on the bottom right is an "Ignore" button. If you used that on the handful of people that irk you, then you won't see their posts . . . until someone else quotes them. Actually, I'm not sure. Do you see quotes of people you have on ignore when sued by other posters?
-
If someone is being toxic, report them. We do hand out warnings and timeouts when people step out of line. But mere disagreement is not toxicity. You can accept or ignore the criticism. You can mount a defense to the criticism. . . or not. I understand that there are a handful of people that have problems with most suggestions. If you think their critique is invalid, ignore it. But maybe your idea is not as great as you think it is if you cannot overcome the criticism.

I've leveled a few Traps characters and found them to be fun and strong. Two things I found essential for fast moving teams were super-speed and sufficient stealth. I would frequently go in first, drop poison trap to hold everyone then acid mortar to debuff and create another target. On the MM, by the time I have done that, my FFG and pets have caught up and protect me while cleaning up. I was able to solo giant monsters on my Bots/traps before the changes to bots. I assume I will still be able to but I may need to respec. I don't think it needs to be revamped other than the already stated changes to Trip mine to make it useable without interruption. I think you should head over to the Mastermind subforum and find yourself a build for Big Jim Ultimo.

Just because a suggestion is popular does not guarantee that it will be implemented. Just because a suggestion is unpopular does not guarantee that it will not be implemented. The various devs all have ideas of their own that they bounce off of each other, then closed beta players, then open beta and then everyone. The devs are players too and they may have had the same or similar thought as one suggested. Or they may have read the forums and agreed with a suggestion. But actually implementing that suggestion may be months or years away. Because it's a way to brainstorm and crowd source. Besides, sometimes it's fun to think about changes to a game we all love.
-
All that said, there are more arguments in Suggestions and Feedback than in other subforums. Part of that may be the posters that frequent this subforum, but it's also a function of the reason for the subforum -- someone wants the game to change in some way. Some folks don't want the game to change at all. That's a fair position to have. But the game IS going to change regardless. New content will be created and changes to existing content happens. My main problem is when arguments become personal and heated. Debate the point not each other. Be excellent to each other! I also would prefer if a few posters didn't have a back and forth argument and drown out everyone else. You don't have to respond to every statement made. But that's just a preference, not a rule.
-
You can DM GMs the same way you DM other posters. You can hover over their avatar to get a pop-up box with "Message" in the bottom left corner or click on the avatar to open a new page that has "Message" on the top. I do get DMs from time to time. I respond to most of them. Some are seeking an appeal of some action I took and for those I send them up to a higher level tier GM.

I can deal with commercials. It's the perfect time to go to the bathroom, get a snack, or check the forums! I'm happy to ignore them to save a few bucks a month. But for them to get stuck, leave me in limbo, and have to restart is unacceptable.
-
I finally saw it over the long weekend and finished yesterday. First: Damn you Disney+ for constantly getting stuck on the commercials! I think you are not-so-gently encouraging me to go ad-free. I'd rather cancel altogether. Fix your product! *AHEM* Sorry, I had to get that off my chest. I found the villains much more likeable and believable than the protagonist. Come to think of it, so were the supporting characters, even the AI friend. For being such a super-genius, she sure does make a lot of bad decisions. True, she is young and impulsive, but she made tragic decisions from the beginning through the very end. I won't detail what those decisions are to avoid spoilers. I don't blame the actors. I blame the writers. Finally, while I know of the character, I have never read any of her comics and I don't know how closely this series follows her comic book trajectory. It seems to me that when the movie and TV writers stray too far from the source material they miss the mark.

Please pardon the temporary invasion of spam bots. We now return to our previously scheduled programming.

I haven't seen it yet but it's on the list of things to binge this long weekend. I personally wasn't a fan of Marvel recreating their main signature characters in the comics (and now MCU somewhat): Spiderman (Miles), Iron Man (Riri), Wolverine (Laura/X23), Thor (Jane), Captain America (Sam). It's not that I have something against women, dark skinned folks, or any other minority, it's just that Marvel was changing and replacing the characters I grew up idolizing. If I recall, it really was replacing at the time as the original characters were dead or otherwise unavailable. They ended up bringing them all back, either due to fans or because that was their plan all along. I have grown to really like Miles Morales and Laura as characters. Maybe Riri will grow on me, maybe not. I'll let you know.
