  1. I'm stating emphatically that /bio benefits from shadow meld more than regen does because bio is already superior to regen in every way. As neither can hit the defense softcap easily on their own, shadow meld allowing either to do so with bio's superior mitigation at base values means specifically that.
  2. I have it (meaning shadow meld) on my nrg/bio scrapper. Want to really tell me it's not benefiting from it? And some sets have more problems to overcome than others while still under-performing the others. Kinda the point of the entire argument. Well said. Please do. Run the math. You'll see that caps matter and getting closer to said caps matters even more. I just got off a Posi 1 with my Bestest Bruter, a fire/regen brute at around level 25, exemplared down to whatever Posi 1 is. It was a complete shitshow and I was eating every farkin insp that dropped. Regen is a crap set. Full stop.
  3. That's pretty damn awesome, man. Have you determined the average DPS loss from not using amplifiers?
  4. As a scrapper, I enjoy mitigation with the ability to punch/claw/whatever enemies in the face. Dominators sorta fit that role. Not nearly as well as scrappers, of course, but it's the same mindset. The only difference is the time I have to spend creating the sphere of mitigation before I get to punch things in the face. This means that the AT itself is still lower in the pack after scrapper/brute/tank/sentinel.
  5. But this is precisely how people in this thread are talking about regen. They specifically state it's on par with the other armors with “*MODEST* inspiration usage” while ignoring where other armors retain superiority with the same moderate inspiration usage. They speak of cycling between MoG and Rune and Shadow Meld while ignoring that other sets accomplish the same tasks with none of those. I have ZERO issues with comparing the sets in a complete void (no outside powers in use) and with SOs. It's a data point and a good one. I've no problems comparing sets with pool powers. If the fighting pool is allowed, it's allowed for all sets. If CJ is allowed, it's allowed for all sets. If leadership is allowed, it's allowed for all sets. This is how to test. This is how to get data. Run the numbers with the set itself and nothing else, the set +X, the set +Y and Z and Alpha, etc, etc. You add something to EVERY armor equally and then after you're all done rerunning those numbers, you find your averages and present the findings.
  6. Yea.... Regen lovers aren't evil. Misguided and sad, sure...
  7. Obviously I missed this. Yes, it's silly. Honestly, there should be no mechanism whatsoever in the game for any conversion of incarnate components to inf. Yes, this would mean yanking the ability to spend threads on crap you can dump on the market.
  8. I guess I'm missing something from never doing it. Are we able to convert emps to reward merits? If so, remove that and then let us convert threads to emps. Edit: Ahh, we can. 1 emp to 10 reward merits. That's stupid and should be removed from the game.
  9. Please show your work. I fail to see how allowing a conversion of threads to emps when emps can already be converted to threads would in any way harm the in-game economy. (edit: especially when you'd have to spend more threads to get an emp than the 20 threads you get for converting an emp.) What % of the economy is based around t4 insps bought from Luna now? How will lessening the number of said insps purchased from her make any impact of note?
  10. Why wouldn't they? We can turn emps to transcendents for easy emailing between characters on an account but threads are 100% useless after a character is T4ed beyond buying large insps from Luna and dumping them on the market. At least with a thread to emp conversion, the threads would get used for something other than pure inf generation.
  11. Which job? Soloing radios at +0/x1, soloing an ITF in under two hours, not dying on a team of 8? We've gone around and around on this before. I'll never consider any test WITH insps valid. It tells us nothing but how good the player is at inspiration management and tells us absolutely nothing else of worth.
  12. Hell, I'd be happy with 100:1 but 50:1 sounds fair.
  13. We all have to take a break from our day jobs some of the time...
  14. Still need the thread to emp conversion.
  15. Poor broadsword. Nice seeing claws getting as much love as nrg.
  16. That would cost me more than 5 inf.
  17. Ya know what? Nevermind.
  18. Yes, because it's time consuming in a completely wasteful way and I say that only having 70 alts. Much less the hundreds that others boast.
  19. If you need 50 levels of normal grinding to figure out how to play a character... ANY character... in THIS game, there's absolutely zero help for you. This shit is NOT rocket surgery. Yes, I PL alts with a fire farmer on my 2nd account often. I was doing the full 1 to 50 and now I'll generally do it whenever I get bored with a specific level range. I only farm to PL my alts. All the rest of my inf comes from selling all worthwhile garbage on AH for 111 inf and the rest to the store in my base. I can fully kit out a new alt at any time at buy now prices on the AH living/playing this way. Edit typos.
  20. I've wasted tons of merits then. Any time I'm lacking AT IOs I buy them with merits. Probably tons of converters, too. <shrug> I'm still rich enough all the time to fully kit out my next alt at buy now market prices.
  21. All for it. Also include inf holdings please.
  22. This is ridiculous. SR can have as much green bar as a regen with respites as a regen can use lucks. Same goes for Elec. Unless you're constantly pulling insps from email, you're rapidly back to square one with no defense and shitty resistance, leaning on 3 or 4 long recharge clicks that can be debuffed into uselessness. And of course you're at full health right after a fight... except for all those times you're at zero health instead.
  23. There's still, and always will be, two arguments at play: 1: Regen numerically underperforms and should be buffed 2: Regen requires more work and is thus more satisfying to play Both of those statements are completely acceptable but they lead to a fight. Those that want regen to suck less numerically are and must be in direct opposition with those that want to leave regen challenging and active. It's a ridiculous situation to be in as a developer. If you make regen better, it becomes easier, thus ticking off crowd #2. If you leave it as is, crowd #1 stays annoyed.
  24. I went from demons/time to demons/thermal. Still sucked.
