Minor note: I had an alt of mine PL'd from 25 to 30 to obtain the Valentine mission from Ms Liberty, turns out you can get the mission from her if you have dinged Level 30 but not yet trained to 30. However the mission is still level 30 so yes, training to 30 is still recommended.

Shifting Loyalties: You have changed your alignment so many times no one knows for sure if you are a hero, vigilante, rogue or villain. Change your alignment 100 times, The caveat to this badge is that it tracks only 5 alignment changes in a 24 hr period, thus reducing the Nul the Gull farming. Forever Loyal: You are truly loyal to your alignment. Stay true! Earn this badge by doing 50 morality missions that reaffirm your alignment. Caveat is that if you ever change alignment prior to getting this badge you can never get it. First to the Egg!: You have obtained every active badge in City of Heroes, congratulations! But remember, reality is what's real! (Bug Hunter does not count towards this)

Some of those "new Ones" are badges from the old days that had to be adjusted to be attainable in the new era, such as the Doorbuster badge
-
Also, ran a quick test. Delivering valentines is a solo endeavor. Progress for the badge only counts for the one who had teh valentine delivered, teammates gain no progress.
-
Just noticed that Valentine tips will drop while in an architect mission. I do not recall them doing that back in the day

Okay so, the way it stands now is that the Paladin Giant Monster of Kings Row is supposed to spawn at random times like other Giants and we are to go to the northern section of KR, smash the Psychic Conduits that shield it, then smash Paladin. But the new version of Paladin is bugged. Now he can only be obtained once when a new section of Kings Row opens due to KR1 being full or right after server restart when some people zoom into KR and hunt him down. The old method of Paladin was that at random times, clockwork would gather in one of 3 spots in KR and start to build the Paladin. The goal was to stop the construction and you would get the badge. If Paladin was built it would go stomping around KR and no badge for defeating it. If players failed to stop its construction and did not take him down, there would eventually be 3 paladin's in KR and no more events until 1 or all 3 were defeated. Players back in the day were a bit loathe or sometimes just unwilling to take a few minutes to take down the Paladins so that the clock would restart. But taking them down was easy, either defeat them or pull them to a drone. So, which one did you prefer? Also is it possible to revert the Paladin to preshut down version until the new one is debugged?

So as of today, Feb 1 the Spring Event is running. use the Paragon Wiki link below to read up on it in case you have forgotten it. https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Valentine's_Day_Event_2012 A few details to note: 1. You cannot auto complete the Scratch/Ganymede missions. You must actually play both parts of them. 2. The Valentine delivery missions are talk missions so don't bother with mission transporter. 3. Level One alts do not seem to be able to start the mission to revive Red Widow. 4. The Valentine costume pieces are already in the tailor, so you only need the Snaptooth mission for the badges. 5. Valentine tips drop randomly from any target at any level. So if you are level 50 and want to street sweep in Perez Park, you can still get the tips

Can we post self-congratulatory milestone screenshots?

issue 26 Patch Notes for January 28th, 2020
Voltor replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
Still testing, so far liking what I see except for burn. Also any update on a fix for Paladin in KR? A theory I think I saw somewhere on discord was that the malfunction might be due to the Shining Stars just standing there and not despawning. -
Before any revamping of the PvP system and the PvP zones occurs, could efforts be made to debug the arena? Sometimes it locks up and will not start any matches, and sometimes even logging out and back in doesn't restore it. My one theory on this is that if some players in the arena event are on 32bit client and others on 64bit client that this can happen, as that is when it first struck me and a pal of mine when we were doing some PvP. Could be wrong though, could just be a random glitch. Also the Tournament Victor/Swiss Draw badge reward system has been broken since BEFORE shut down and only awards the badge to a player that is in a specific arena team slot when the event starts. The badge is still obtainable, but the team must be aware of the bug and basically designate a winner before the match even starts. All the other arena badges appear to be working normally. Also an upgrade idea for the arena: arena bots! If someone wants to do some Arena fights but their pals aren't online, they can set the arena to spawn some EB/AV arena bots. Use the AV"s that spawn in Recluse Victory or use the Praetorians that you have to defeat for dimensional warder badge.
-
An upgrade to Warburg zone should cover this. I like it 🙂
-
I've been testing this further, logging out usually resets the arena, however I am still testing whether the problem can also occur if some players on the arena team run the 64 bit client and others the 32bit client.

Okay, so let's say you have all the day job badges and their accolades. First, congratulations. 🙂 Second, logging out in certain spots will charge up a temp power given by the Dayjobs/Accolades, so lets go through the list: Police Chief: log out in City Hall or a Police Station to charge your baton temp, power max charges = 30 Security Chief: log out in a Vault or Police Station to earn charges of Tear Gas temp power max charges = 30 So to charge these two at once, log out in a police station. Traveler: log out at a train station or in the shadow shard to charge up your Travel's Jet Pack: 2 hours max fuel Entrepreneur: log out in a shop or the auction house to earn coupons for discounts on crafting inventions. Scientist: log out in the University or Portal Corp building for charges of Sleep Gas, max of 30 charges Physician: log out in University or Hospital to earn charges of Revive Ally: max of 30 charges So log out in the University for both of these Alchemist: log out in Midnighter Club or Hospital to charge your Vitalize power: 30 charges Archaeologist: log out in Midnight Club or Graveyard for Rune of Purification: 30 charges so log out in the Midnight Club Mercenary: log out in vanguard base for charges of Fragmentation Grenade: max 30 charges Gladiator: log out in PVP zone or arena to charge your combat shield power: 30 minutes max charge time Rapid Response: log out near a base portal to charge your base teleport power: 30 charges Time Lord: log out in Cimerora to charge up your time lord power. log out for 7 days and the power should be at maximum charge

issue 26 Patch Notes for January 23rd, 2020 - Issue 26, Page 4

While using one of my low level toons after the patch, I had to put them in rest mode as they aren't slotted up yet. I saw this message constantly appear in Chat while in rest mode "toon name Phases you with their rest" replace toon name with the name of said character. He didn't look like he was being phased at any time Is this a bug or a new feature of rest? -
The Arena System Back in the first era of CoH it wasn't entirely stable, but now it seems to have a chronic problem of not wanting to start arena matches. My nephew visits and links his laptop to my network and we team up in the game and like to fight in the arena. Sometimes we can run only one match, some times several but then the Arena system bugs out and when the start button is clicked, if it can be clicked, the timer will briefly start and then stop. When that happens , neither of us can start an arena match at all. Also there is the old problem with the Swiss Draw badge that was never fixed prior to shut down, thus making it necessary to designate the person in slot 2 as the match winner and then rotate players to ensure all get the badge. If this problem cannot be fixed anytime soon, can swiss draw matches be reduced to needing FOUR players instead of EIGHT to launch? Too many players get fidgety and impatient seeking this badge

For Dimensional Warder badge progress, which of the arcs do you prefer? A Hero's Hero: the original Maria Jenkins arc that awards the Statesman's Pal badge and 60 merits at the end, and 13 of 15 Praetorians in it that count toward Dimensional Warder? Shadow Hunter and Tyrant do not count. It is somewhat long arc,, I can blast through it in about an hour and 15 minutes. It is the only arc now that we can see Statesman in, not counting Who Will Die and the only way to get Statesman's Pal badge. Anti-Matter is not in the arc and must be gotten separately either from Tina Macintyre's Arc or the Keyes Trial. or A Hero's Epic: A more streamlined arc where at the end you face Olympian Guard, which is a knock off of Tyrant to free the captive Positron and get the Positron's Pal badge and 31 merits. Siege is not in it nor is Anti-Matter, both must be gotten separately. I can go thru this arc in about an hour. It is the only way to get Positron's Pal badge. So if you are dedicated to getting all the badges you do need to run both of these but just for the sake of Dimensional Warder, which one do you like? I prefer the original arc as it gives more merits and more progress on the badge, but mileage varies.

My nephew and i are trying to do some arena fights and the arena system is acting all buggy about setting up and launching the event. Update: found the problem: it seems the 64bit version of the client has a problem with the arena.

Anyone who could obtain a Master of Synapse badge would have truly earned that. 🙂 Seriously though, the discussion about the criteria for damage/money/heal badges is as old as the game itself. I am fine with their present criteria. As to new plaques, when I was mapping the presents in Khalisti Whard I found about 3 plaques but I suspect there are more. Perhaps KW should have its plaques enabled and explore badges added? Accolade badges for the History badges? hmmm maybe one for all redside history badges, one for all blue and one for all praetorian history badges As for having to be L50 to get all badges, you can just shut off XP and keep working the badges until they all ding. I prefer to get to 50 and slot up the alt then go back and obtain the badges either be street sweeping for defeat badges, or using Ouro. What I would like to see is the other incarnate powers brought online. That's 5 powers, one badge for each.

okay so for those that are gathering the 200 presents for Toy Collector and the gladiator badge during the event you have undoubtedly gained some inspirations in the form of presents but they are supposed to be a mystery as to what they are. Well there are 6 different kinds: 1. Damage booster 2. Stamina booster 3. Defense booster 4. Healing 5. Gift of Experience = 1 hour debt protection 6. Lump of coal They all look the same so you can't tell which is which right away. So here is what you could do 1. Put 6 inspiration storage bins in your base 2. Insert all presents in your inspiration tray into one bin. The bin will sort them by type but not ID them 3. Take one of the sets of presents out of the bin and stick those presents in another bin, repeat until all 6 bins have only ONE type of present in them 4. Now starting with Bin #1, take out one present. Right click it and select detailed info and scroll to the bottom and with 4 of the presents it will tell you what it does. 5. Put it back into the storage bin and then for future reference put one regular inspiration in the bin that corresponds to the type of presents in the bin. For example: presents that offer damage boost, insert a red inspiration into the bin so that you know what is in there. Repeat this for the stamina, heal and defense presents. 6. Now for the 2 types that do not show data: if you put them all in one bin they will show as two stacks, so make sure that each type is in its own bin. Now open one from one of the bins and see what it is: if it is the gift of experience, I insert a break free into the bin to mark it. Break frees help prevent debt by waking you up from stuns/holds/sleeps so they technically correspond to the Gift of Experience. Once this is done then you know which bin has the lumps of coal in it and you do not need to mark it with an inspiration. Once you are done sending your alts around to gather presents you can then easily figure out which bins to dump them into, then when all is done you can sell the lump of coal presents on the market. The market has all 6 presents listed but doesn't seem to indicate which is which so some people are buying lumps of coal. There are no presents that act as orange inspirations, accuracy inspirations or awakens.

My main badge hunter right now is my blaster, Voltor My casual hunters include a Mastermind, tank, pb and ws with more to come at a later date. The heal badges, use the incarnate Rebirth Destiny to get heal badges or the old arena method still works too. badges for damage received can be gained the slow way or by farming. Same with damage inflicted upon enemies. Money badges: run farms Badges that may take a few runs to get: incarnate trials and the no Defeat Master badges in the TF's There really is no "best" AT to get all the badges with. Any AT can do it, but some power set combos may make it easier then others. The only badges that you need to jump on immediately to get are the Holiday events and special anniversary badges
-
There was never such a badge for TF's back in the first era of CoH. My badge hunters (bunters?) had them all prior to shut down, except Bug Hunter of course. I have heard no mention of a such a badge having been added to the game now.

I found no presents in Night Ward or Recluse Victory. Glitch? As to which zone is best for presents, well mileage will vary. For example: I do not recommend Atlas Park as that zone can be a bit crowded. Kings Row? Better have the ability to fly as some presents are atop tall buildings. Skyway? Forget it. Many levels, ramps, buildings, etc., and its a big zone. A winter lord team I joined in that zone took 15 minutes to find him after we received the alert that he had appeared. PvP zones make it more challenging. Also while there are those that like Super Speed as their travel power, remember you cannot run up walls and buildings. Super Jump can be good, but I prefer Flight + afterburner. As to the Winter Lord: every zone I mapped, I mapped it solo. Opening presents solo without killing snowmen did not trigger a WL spawn for me. Opening presents + killing snowmen until the badge for defeating 100 of them dinged while solo did not trigger a WL spawn. Any time I spawned him was on a full team opening presents until a naughty present triggered him. If there is another way to make WL spawn, great. Just stating how it was for me.

Here is the holiday map for First Ward. As with the previous maps, I have endeavored to be as accurate as possible with the placing of the gift icons. But as always, turn game music volume to zero and sound FX up to at least 30 and use your ears and eyes to find them. Also while you are there, go get the map badges and plaques., and avoid the Seed of Hamidon

Here is the holiday map for Neutropolis. As with the previous maps, I have endeavored to be as accurate as possible with the placing of the gift icons. But as always, turn game music volume to zero and sound FX up to at least 30 and use your ears and eyes to find them. Also while you are there, go get the map badges and plaques.
