    I didn't include it because it is a patch, not a PBAoE. It is useful, but won't have the effect I'm looking for unless I stand still... I'll have to look into DpS and effects later.

    Tech shield

    I'm using the elemental energy shield to go with my vanguard blade on a BS/SD toon. There are other elemental options that are pretty cool, as well as Tech 1/2, Ascendant full/half, Rularoo, Vanguard, and Tech Knight shields for the tech flavor...

    Damage Auras

    I was playing my spines/regen scrapper, and got to thinking about damage auras... Spines is the only Primary with a damage aura (5.16 lethal dps, -speed, -recharge), but there are five secondaries that come with damage auras... Was wondering if y'all would help me choose for my next Spines/* scrapper... *Radiation Melee has a pseudo-aura (Irradiated Ground) which drops patches as you walk. I will add the dps when I go in-game, but it does have a -Def, which is nice. Bio Armor actually has one Genetic Contamination (4.69 toxic dps, -damage). Dark Armor has one, Death Shroud (6.26 Negative dps) Electric Armor has one as well, Lightning Field (6.26 Energy dps, -Endurance) Fiery Aura has the most damaging damage aura, Blazing Aura (6.88 Fire dps) Ice Armor has one as well (6.26 Lethal dps) So these are my choices... which one would y'all take? I am leaning towards a Spines/Bio to have two damage auras with lots of debuffs and buffs and decent recovery, but I wanna hear about anyone who has run with multiple damage auras, experiences, etc.
  5. First off, I usually do not join in on bandwagon sets. If something is popular before I try it, I generally won't try it. However, I started playing with BS・SD because I got an endgame build that I like. This is also one of the few builds I did not take Hasten on because it really isn't needed. I have placate in this build, but placate is not as needed as it is with other stalker primaries. I have also ended up taking a lot of toggles (almost a full power-bar worth), but should be endurance manageable with the amount of recovery in the build. I also am basically using One with the Shield as a mule, because I don't think I will need a panic button with this build. I have Agility Total Radial Revamp set as my Alpha, that should complement this build and make it even better. Anyway, I am trying it out, and so far it seems to be living up to the hype...   7. I think that there are some builds that can be maximized without Hasten... On the other hand, most builds are better with Hasten...

Basically you have three options: Chemical Munitions: -Damage and a damage type that most targets have minimal resistance to Cryo Munitions: Extra range and a slow for a more snipery feel Incendiary Munitions: Extra Damage (20-25%) So, basically you have four choices, Use the standard munitions for KB/KD, -Def, -Res effects that are good for most fights. Use chemical munitions to increase survivability for yourself and your team. Use cryo munitions to stay out of the fray and keep your targets from spreading too much. Use incendiary munitions if you have a teammate that is dropping debuff bombs like a boss and you are just there for the damage. Incendiary is more useful for blasters while cryo is more useful for sentinels, I would say. To be honest, I really like the effects of standard munitions... In fact, I would actually argue that they should end effect suppression to make Swap Ammo more appealing, because as is, it is actually pretty skippable. Pistols according to Mids(Pine's) [Pine's currently has an error where it shows a resist debuff for Pistols and Dual Wield - removed for this post]: Standard: 9.65 DPS -7% Defense Toxic: 9.65 DPS -5.6% Damage Cryo: 9.65 DPS -12% Recharge -12% Speed Incindiary: 11.78 DPS

There are some areas that do not (Fitness is now inherent), some of it is personal preference (taking Barb Swipe or Lunge is a matter of preference, Barb Swipe has better DPS, but Lunge hits harder as a single attack), and the comments on quills doesn't quite work because of all the +Endurance you get from Regen. Overall, however, it is a decent guide to start you on the path. I recently put up my current spines/regen build that I am still tinkering with, take a look if you have time, it is not the be-all, end-all Spines/Regen build, but can let you see what is possible.
  10. Alright, I am building a Spines/Regen scrapper. I am trying to get sufficient AoE DPS while maintaining survivibility. I have decided to go with Soul Mastery over Body Mastery because a snipe, a huge defense buff (half the time), and a pet were better than throwing a cherry on top of my regen.   11. I generally take Body Mastery because it plays to Regen's strengths Also, there are so many procs for Regen, you can never have enough regen auto powers... For the stamina, I take Performance Shifter (chance for +End and Endurance Mod) to get a good chunk of End and some mobility. The chance for +End proc is actually better than Endurance mod on Stamina and Physical Perfection.
  12. I'd replace sound grenade with lullaby... For the oscillating aura, you may want to consider how that would interact with Hurricane from Storm... For uproar, may want to look at something like crushing field, but as a PBAoE rather than a targetted AoE.

  17. With certain secondaries, like Regen, you really need it to get Dull Pain perma and Instant Healing on a reasonable timer. On my DP/Nin I need to get Piercing Rounds to 4.224s to optimize my attack chain for -def and -res, Hasten is necessary for that. To get perma-lightform Peacebringers, you need Hasten. To get perma-PA for an illusion controller, you need hasten... There are some builds where I don't use it, but recharge is king in CoH, so that is why you see it so often. On the other hand, there are plenty of builds out there that don't need that much recharge...
  18. Alright, I'm playing with my spines/regen scrapper and I am trying to get 130% HP and 800+ Regen without activating Instant Healing or Dull Pain... If possible I would also like it to have perma-dull pain and be functionally playable... Does anyone have thoughts on this project?

  21. My plan is to basically go without a travel power, but I have two extra power slots... ( I actually moved paralizing dart and kemuridama up to slip mystic flight into the 47 slot). Mystic flight is a random just-for-fun travel power that requires minimal slotting, and Kuji-in retsu is a mule. I can dump either... I could drop the +Def LotGs from Ninja Reflexes, Danger Sense, Maneuvers, and Weave, RD-Scaling Res from Shinobi-iri, and possibly the +HP or +Absorb procs from Health to free up some Enhancement Slots. That means a maximum of 7 slots while dropping my actual regen, hp, and defense (which would still be over 40). Stealth may be an option, but I am unsure whether it conflicts with Shinobi-iri. This would allow me to take Flurry and slot it with Disorient IOs to get an extra 6.25 recharge to bring hasten to 120.5 recharge and the stealth would get me to 44.8 Def when in combat 46.5 out of combat (if stealth can stack with Shinobi-iri). However I would be increasing endurance drain and losing the +HP and +Absorb procs for 1.1s of improved performance from Hasten... That's the problem when you get builds to this level, there are no wasted enhancement slots, so it becomes about sacrifices. I like having the Hail of Bullets small panic button and the Kuji-in big panic button to fall back on, but they aren't necessary (although I do need a place for the Superior Sentinel's Ward IOs). Mystic flight gives me vertical mobility and is just a fun power to use, but it isn't necessary. So here I am, not sure if this is the end-state of this build, or if I can find a place to squeeze out a little performance. I should probably consider an Alpha and see how that plays out...
  22. Yup, similar boat. This looks very similar to something I started with. That first run was very apprehensive about giving up Defensive O, but it really just isn't an issue after a certain point. So I'm going to see about shuffling things to find out if I like Ninja Tools again. I really don't feel like a Ninja without a smoke bomb. :( I see your point, but seeing as my theme is John Woo, the ninja tools aren't necessary... That being said... I'm wondering which you think is the best option: the current scaling resist proc that I placed in Shinobi-Iri, Celerity +Run to make me faster and give 2.5 S/L Res, or adding a third recharge to Hasten to get perma-hasten? Also, I took Mystic Flight because it is such a cool travel power (that doesn't conflict with Shinobi-Iri), but it really doesn't match the theme... keep or replace? with what?
  23. Alright, did a little more tweaking, and actually decided to go below soft-cap. I ended up dropping Psi epic and adopting Ninja Tool Mastery, the Taishibishi and Kemuridama are nice touches, and I don't have to worry about the almost 4s animation time of Link Minds.   24. Has anyone checked in-game whether Suppressive Fire takes Hold enhancements? It doesn't seem like it ought to. Anyway, I was playing with my build again, trying to get the Executioner's Shot -> Pistols -> Piercing Rounds -> Pistols chain optimized... I gave up some range by giving up frankenslotting with the ATOs, and I rearranged my slotting to improve general performance... I did the math, and having Decimation in Pistols gives me an 8% higher damage output than having Apocalypse, because the build-up will be up a quarter of the time... I'm still not 100% sure on the calculations for using straight ammo v incendiary or toxic, but it seems that the -Def and -Res would be a better choice v AVs.
