Ninjitsu is a peculiar defense set as it has control elements and other active elements to make it less passive than most defensive sets. It is like SR with toys... I don't use Suppressive on AVs because you will lose the control mitigation as you won't be able to maintain it, and you will also get more -def by replacing it with pistols. I might go ahead and switch the slotting on Suppressive and Pistols to get more bang. I like the idea of throwing in the Heel and Annihilation procs, but for boss fights you are probably better off with straight ammo. There are so many fun powers in there it is hard to make room for everything... Also, did you notice the amount of +spd set bonuses I managed to slide in there... trying to get fast enough that you don't need a travel power...

I'd like to share my end-game build for Woo. It may give you some ideas about yours. I went with Psionic over Ninja Tool because Link Minds rocks and control purples are cheaper than damage purples and Mass Hypnosis can help set up a brawl that is so much fun to watch... For the attach chain I'm going Pistols->Piercing->Executioner's->Suppressive. For AVs though Pistols->Piercing->Pistols->Executioner's. I am looking into ways to get my hasten closer to perma, but I think this is workable for now... now I just need to get some time off work so I can actually play rather than just work on builds on the train... Pets, Personal Attacks, How do you like to build your character?
Zepp replied to khy's topic in Mastermind
Play your toon how you want to. Demon offers a unique attack set not found elsewhere, as such, it would be reasonable to run a petless Demon MM, just to have access to the whip, and where there's a whip there's a way... That being said, the MM ATOs have some of the best set bonuses of all the ATOs, but need to be slotted in pets. Furthermore, a petless MM is basically just a weak blaster, so it doesn't make sense outside of Demons to do it (and even then, you might as well do Sonic for similar debuffs and greater range even though Demons animations are much cooler). -
This is a fun combo, I created a toon that looks like John Woo with this build...
-
Time is new, so vets may not be able to help as much as usual. On the other hand, the +Rech in Time will help you get perma-PA. It will likely give you something of a Mastermind feel to the build...
-
Some Immob would be nice, but being that stuns mitigate for longer than KB, should definitely be able to create a single target monster...
-
I personally love my Ill/SS controller, all the chaos. The character is a very strong Tulpa and her illusory pets are Tulpas that she can manifest. As a Tulpa, she has a strong connection to nature that allows her to control the weather. She is a beast and can either round-up enemies for a team or create complete chaos for solo. In regards to SI, you only lose half your defenses and you get to keep the threat reduction and huge range which allows you to solo a mob while not triggering the mob directly next to her/him...
-
Spines / Regen was one of my favorite combos before Homecoming (remade that character), but that was before Bio. I can see bio as being interesting, but it is more of a balancing act while Regen is more focused. I have a toon running Bio, and have played with it on Pines, but as with most decisions, it is a matter of choosing your concept and playing into it rather than trying to force a set to do something its not good at.
-
Can you be more specific? Are we talking about sexist monikers for powerful women, body spray, or scrapper primaries?
-
It depends on your build. Do you need to free up a power slot? Do you need a slot for holding an IO? Do you need to fill in an opening in your attack chain? All of these questions and many others are related to whether placate is a good choice or not. Those saying it is necessary or you don't know how to play stalker are simply limiting their scope.

Alright, I am playing with stealth options on my Illusion/Storm Summoning controller, and with three good options (not counting power pools), it is difficult to choose. Breakdown: Superior Invisibility 1.04 end/s 4.5% Defense (all) (suppressed by half when attacked) 200ft Stealth -100% Threat Group Invisibility 10.4 end (120s) -- 0.087 end/s 3.75% Defense (all) (suppressed by half when attacked) (group) 60ft Stealth (group) -100% Threat (group) Steamy Mist 0.52 end/s 3.75 Defense (all) (group) 15% Resistance (Energy, Fire, Cold) (group) Strong Confusion protections (group) 35ft stealth (group) Superior Invisibility is arguably the best stealth power in the game. The range and -threat make it possible to attack a mob while the mob standing next to him ignores you. That being said, it is the most endurance heavy of the three. It is also the only option that you can't share. Also, the defense bonuses are suppressed when attacked. Group Invisibility is similar in strength, but only a third as powerful in terms of stealth and 83% as powerful for defense. It is very endurance-friendly but the defense bonuses are suppressed when attacked. This power, however, stacks with the others. Steamy Mist is the best defensive choice as it has a broader spread of defensive options that are not suppressed when attacked. It also uses half the endurance of Superior Invisibility. On the other hand, it is weak as a stealth power. Of course, there are also the Power Pool options, but which one do you think is the best option, and why? I'm really interested in what other people think of these options...
-
If you have Pines you can go to Window>Set Bonus Finder and look under Enhancement (Range) to see what's available. (only available via ATOs)...
-
Superior versions of the ATOs in the OP. They are available at level 50.
-
Be careful about saying you would skip placate, some think that people who don't take placate "don't know how to play the class."
-
My endgame build for one of my Sentenels is +50% range, basically the same formula... it is nice that the ATOs for Sentinel address this limitation of the archetype so well.

Claws Only Night Widow Build + End Suggestions
Zepp replied to AustinSmith's topic in Arachnos Soldier & Widow
First off, you are hitting diminishing returns by overslotting Stamina. Try to get ahold of a Performance Shifter +End mod (the level of this mod does not matter if you can slot it). Second, make sure you have some Endurance Reduction slotted in all your toggles (other than Combat Jumping). And also try to get some Endurance Reduction in your quick attacks. Third, make sure your travel powers (other than Combat Jumping) are off during fights. Fourth, if you are running hasten, you may want to stop running it for a while to slow yourself down. Fifth, it sounds like you may also need to build some accuracy. Finally, if you are using Power Pool Leadership powers, don't for now. They are good end-game, but endurance hogs at your current level. Hope that helps. I can't get more specific without actually knowing your build. -

StrikerFox, First off, sorry about the typo in the title... Very interesting build... The reason I chose to focus on stuns was that they were readily available, and through stacking you ought to be able to maintain single-target control, meaning that you could possibly maintain control of higher level targets throughout the fight. Even if holds and fears procced, they wouldn't affect bosses. Also, immobilize is of little use to a melee character unless you have a flighty prey, in which case stun would be better because they can't flee and can't fight back. However, looking at your build, it gave me the idea to add Pounding Slugfest stun procs to most of my attacks. I freed up a couple slots in CS and Boxing to get a tad more recharge so I could remove one slot from Hasten (still perma) to move that to Tough for the endurance discount... Anyways, here is the new build... Thanks for the feedback. Villain Plan by Mids' Villain Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! With Overwhelming Force, I find the 4-6 bonuses underwhelming. As such I usually split them in two or three (depending on if I need more regen, or more damage)...
-
Aliana Blue, Correct me if I'm wrong, but Reactive Defense only gives 8.75 global cooldown (the five-slot enhancement is an endurance reduction). Also, you can only slot one full set of Reactive Defense because the scaling is unique.

I was looking through the different options and I got to playing with the idea of a Stalktroller... So I looked at the best way to outfit and supplement the three MA +stun attacks with good defense... So, here she is, Subtle T...
