So much this, gathering for RA is a waste of time, especially when most of the time, it's not really needed.
I prefer to wait till the middle of a fight, when people are starting to get low. Blowing it before a fight just wastes the buff.
And if I miss anyone who needed it, I can just hit them with Adrenalin Boost.
One of the worst aspects of WoW are the damage meters.
How many times have you heard 'STFU till you start pulling numbers'?
Don't really want to see that attitude find it's way here.
That's cause you're doing it wrong. The blaster is supposed to run in and fire off his biggest AOE at point blank before the tank taunts so the healer then gets to panic while trying to keep the blaster alive, and the tank fights to regain aggro.
Well, once you start advertising, you gotta give people 20-30 minutes to finish whatever they are doing at the time.
Scheduling the time on the forums doesn't help much since only a small fraction of the people visit the forums.
Hmmm.
Def, Brute, Cont, Blaster
Controller, Sentinel, Tank, Scrapper
Dominator, Brute, MM, PB
I mean, so many combos that would work.
I think as long as you get something thats a little tanky, and something that has some heals, you can handle just about anything the game throws at you.
I think one of the things is that the story isn't on rails.
Like the current arc going on in WoW, there are moral choices you can make, but they are pointless since everyone has to end up at the same point in the story, so your choices are basically meaningless, and they don't even change how you move through the story, you still see the same cut scenes no matter what choice you make.
Here the story telling is open ended, not tied to progression, and not everyone has to end up in the same place cause there isn't a major arc that everyone is involved in.
I also think there is more room for error on higher level content so that not everyone has to min/max their character to be effective. You can bring someone into UGT without incarnates and io sets and be fine. That one person who isn't geared doesn't mean the team is going to wipe.
You can also have successful teams without a tank. Ran Katie Hannons TF with 4 defs, 2 controllers, a blaster and corrupter, and absolutely destroyed it. You go into a WoW dungeon without a tank and you wont make it past the first group.
Because the more money you pull in beyond operating expenses the more likely NCSoft is to care.
Most likely, if no one is making any money, and its just a niche group of people playing, they won't do anything, it wouldn't be worth the time and money spent in lawyers.
However, if it looks like you are making money...well, here come the lawyers.
I guess everyone forgot about the lawsuit Marvel brought against NCSoft during the first year of CoH's existence that they lost.
It was already decided YEARS ago by the courts. You can make whatever rip off characters you want.
Ran Dr Q Saturday. We all had the teleport powers, all incarnates. Fairly casual, we weren't trying to speed run, and we did it in 3.5 hours.
Only half the team needs the teleport powers.
