  1. I dont think it would not if you leverage AAO and fury optimally.
  2. Don't act like you dont want to. lol
  3. Build the brute with better defenses then.
  4. No the tanker update allows it to hit more with a larger aoe radius - thats its strength if a minion has 100 Hp and the tanker hits for 110 and the brute 130 the minion still dies but the tanker takes out more faster with aoe - hard targets bosses avs and ebs showcase the brutes dmg difference better.
  5. My point is this pitted the brute against the tankers strength and still won - that seems equitable to me on face value. But You are right we would need to examine builds and other aspects etc.
  6. No but it represents ST hard targets which is in the game. The game also isn't map clearing punching bags.
  7. I saw the formula somewhere where tanker brute design was balanced around HP and dmg does anyone remember that quote from the tanker update?
  8. Run the brute on pylon and AV times then. The tanker isn't going to win that even sacrificing dmg by the brute to get greater survivability. You are pitting the brute against where the tanker is strong - flip the tables and run tanker brute for raw ST damage. Also no Brute I have has any trouble maintaining agro.
  9. That sounds equitable to me - what exactly do you want it to do? You can get those numbers for the brute higher also btw. Also look at your HP what percentage higher is the tanker? I forget the calculation - brainfart
  10. I have had an awesome Ice Ice tanker for a while but I'm working on a few concept sentinels right now.
  11. Weeeellll I might already have one **sneaky grin**
  12. My point is you really don't need it either way - the build is unkillable without wasting the 2 slots to get ROP. Plus you get melee core without wasting any slots which works better IMO if you feel the need for an OS button. Recharge doesnt really matter, but the toxic and psi does - especially late/end game it's everywhere - thats why you build for those and also add positional melee defense - because it covers you against toxic - which you don't get any typed defense for because it doesn't exist. I don't proc monster either, but IMO Thats an easy one slot proc that provides a valuable dmg boost. You aren't giving up anything to get it really because every category but fire resist and slight energy defense is boosted across the board. Again its valuable for the couple of attacks not covered by typed defense. So I'll stand by adding th melee defense because it is valuable to have to close any holes not covered by the rest of the build which doesnt sacrifice - in fact its stronger than the original in every way but two - which will be unnoticeable - especially since the MotT proc can fire at least 2 more stacks of 6% to the fire resists which is the only part given up slightly to gain the rest.
  13. Couple of thoughts: Curious, Rune of Protection is an odd choice - its not perma or even close right? Why not just build up the psionic and toxic with sets and use melee core which is up more often than Rune is? Also you really are missing out on extra damage by not putting the gaussian proc in Invincibility. Also if you go Agility core instead of Resilient you will get the endurance boost and never really have to worry about double slotting stamina Plus Resilient is overkill because once the ATO proc fires at least twice you are close to capped on every category anyway - that combined with your defense from saturated invincibility means nothing will touch you anyway. I also like to boost up the melee defense - where you live and breath death on your enemies - shoot for at least 45% and any short coming you may have in psi or toxic melts away. Finally i would probably go laser beam eyes over Hurl because of two reasons, larger cast time on hurl - and laser beam eyes doing pure energy dmg with -def on the enemy. If you have to go ranged that adds up faster than smashing lethal with a longer cast time - unless for theme you really like the hurl animation - i totally get that. Here is an updated update to that build with the above reflected changes in case you want to humor futher revisions. WIth a free slot at the end for whatever madness you would like to add. If you need more resistance - you can activate melee core at your disposal - but honestly i dont think you would ever need to under those parameters. Here is the build if you want to give it a looksie Updated Update.mxd
  14. Larger problems take longer times - I dont see this as whim or bias but an effective solution - that was carried out well and in a timely fashion - how do you know EATs aren't being worked on little by little so the solution will be an astounding success rather than a rushed failure? The tanker update was a good one IMO
  15. Overbuffing IMO is a stretch, it more focused an update to give the tanker an extended team role that it was currently lagging behind the other melee ATs - without infringing on the other 3 melee ATs - and it accomplished that really well. A tanker just isn't going to compete let alone surpass a scrapper or stalker for damage - or even a Brute for that matter if its similarly and well built. Yes there are outliers that under certain circumstances can surpass a brute with damage - but there are also Brute outliers that can cap resistances and survive just as good as tankers. The two I think are supposed to be that similar and interchangeable, while at the same time different enough to have a different feel to their play style.
  16. But not to the point of zOMG all I can has is tankers now - in fact ive rolled more scrappers and stalkers since the tanker update because I already had my tankers set up - it made them more valid and fun but not gamebreakingly OP by any stretch. If I want dmg and to kill something fast in going for a scrapper or stalker - even one of my brutes - if I want maximum support and survivability with a decent portion of damage I get my tankers. My brutes are set up to survive also but are kinda in between scrapper and tanker. In my mind that's exactly how the melees should feel. Thats just my opinion though. Ive never had any tanker of mine outdamage one of my brutes or even come close aside from mopping up minions and lieutenants with the massive aoe - once it gets to the boss fight I rely on team damage to take them out as a tanker (while I keep all their attention on me) - as a brute in wailing on that sucker till he drops - while still hanging in there strong.
  17. Oh, yours wasnt bad at all - in fact it took me a min or two to wrap my brain around how to improve it without changing what made it uniquely yours. But all the same - glad I could help!
  18. This, but I still do it at least once a year
  19. Yes
  20. Its deceptive but invul, Shield, SR, Ice - even willpower aren't capped in every category - at first but with invul and the ATO proc usually every resistance is capped and with invinc saturated defense is softcapped to every type also in a heavy fight. SR softcap the positional and gets really high when the increased res with lower HP Ice uses a mixed bag of defenses, resistances - dmg and slows Shield is positional and decently high resistances. Willpower - I chose to cap sl and max regen with the help of RTTC saturation. The res sets are the only ones you definately need to cap res in most if not all categories. With your dark armor you can cap all categories or get close enough - and if you also get above 45% melee defense it will be awesome.
  21. Took out the TW Bio because I wasnt happy with the survivability.
  22. Ice is very sneaky good - its so smooth and underwhelming - yet not resisted by a lot of factions it kills very effectively. It doesnt do huge numbers or lump damage but literally puts them on ice very fast steady and efficiently.
  23. I swapped a few sets around and boosted all your resistances - especially Psionic and toxic and got your melee defense to 48% - at the expense of typed defense - but once invincibility saturates - Nothing should bother this build too bad. Forum Build.mxd Just added agility core also.
  24. Take a look at this - you can swap around a few things if you like, but it has a good bit more resistances and defense and is astoundingly durable - if you wanted a different look at it. Brikhouse - Tanker (Invulnerability - Street Justice).mxd
