He is in the BAF also.

That is a valid feature though - I kinda equate Brute/Stalker more leaning ST and Tanker/Scrapper more leaning AOE. Well thats my point - you need to maximize all of those to wipe the mobs because if any are left over the ST capability falls off where the brute, scrapper, or stalker version will keep on powering through - but its noticeable once you fire that broadside the single target falls flat. Its similar with any tanker vs Brute vs stalker vs scrapper set - its a noticeable difference once you get to single target - which is a valid part of the game. I agree and would even throw in some EBs.

Is there anything high level like the yin - that would be a perfect test but its exemplared down. Maybe the Maria Jenkins Infernal mission? It has an AV and Object at the end that multi spawns over and over again.
-
Soloing TFs - I wouldnt call that normal but Bosses EBs and AVs are what would better illustrate the brutes dmg potential as well as any survival differentials that may exist between tanker and brute. I absolutely think those should be a part of any tests performed. A lot is being made of tanker dmg potential with AOE and what comes to my mind is my shield Elec. With LR SC and TS it practically kills anything but a few lieutennants and bosses - but the boss fight AV fight and EB fight is significantly slower than a brute, scrapper, or stalker similarly built. Its simple to account why - minion HP is lower by design as it should be - so it doesnt matter if the tanker is putting out 500 dmg vs the brutes dmg if its 800 - if the minions HP is 400 they are dropped the same way but more of them on the tanker side - where the brute scrapper or stalker pulls away is that same aoe potential is also hitting lieutenants and bosses softening them up so eventually the brute pulls ahead of the tanker by dmg output because its done way more dmg to the boss class or higher in the same mob.

Ok take a look at this - I improved a few things - Most importantly Energy Res - i think you should go Cardiac Core for Res and End. I also added touch of Fear. Snarky 2.2.mxd I tried to get you to 45% melee defense - and i will revisit this but i fell a little short there. Hope this helps though!

"The Game is not Balanced around IO's"..... should it be?

So basically instead just being amazing with resistance, defense, damage, and recharge - it should be opened up with healing/regen, stuns, holds, etc. -
That's the objective sane point most people come to when playing the two ATs
-
Well that will win the argument every time.
-
That isn't at all what they said any more than the 8% you keep throwing around is accurate as THE number brutes excel tanks by.
-
I am missing the part that got uncivil myself.

There's a tutorial? -
It doesn't discredit anything. I build to 90% on my tankers cause its a challenge - I don't have to, and it also doesnt make it unfair that brutes cant do that because they have anywhere from 15% to 40% more dmg capacity than a similar tanker from 50% fury up. Its two different ATs that do similar but at the same time different things - and both are very versatile due to that nature. The 21% isnt tested in that test scenario you could make that 50% its a passive test and invalid. If you want to test brute survivability I have at least 5 that can survive an indefinate herd on monster island just like all my tankers - and STILl have more dmg potential.
-
That doesnt demonstrate anything other than the brute defeated the tanker in a passive clear test. No survivability was tested - the only data point is that the brute won.
-
Go back and read the good enough tanker thread. They do have excess mitigation - but some people like me like that - some dont and build for damage instead. Same thing with brutes you can make it more like a scrapper or more like a tanker - with a much greater dmg potential. If You survive x y and z with 60% with a brute does it matter if a tanker has 80% When talking in terms of dmg the dmg outputs do make a quantitative difference because more always registers - whereas with mitigation at certain points it really doesnt matter because you will survive it. With brutes you have options to dive into incarnate powers that puts you on tanker level of mitigation - however tankers can never reach brutes dmg output because the brutes cap is much higher.. And You need to throw that 8% crap out because its one cherry picked test with one cross section of a build that favored the tanker - and the brute still won.
-
No, they bring more damage. Would you rather Brutes primary and secondary roles be swapped - given tanker factors of dmg output and survivability - basically a tanker with fury and lower dmg caps? That seems boring to me - brutes bring plenty to the table solo or teamed and can survive anything if built right while retaining an identity unique to them.
-
Yes they did. And it wasn't even hard to do. Yeah, brutes survive well enough to tank anything in the game and still do more damage than tankers.
-
before the Tanker update Brutes were above Scrappers and Blasters in terms of dmg - now they are below blasters and even or slightly behind scrappers but still a good bit ahead of tanks from 50% fury up - which is easy to do. It was and isnt a tanker issue but Brutes were likely too high before the Tanker update anyway. Its now as close to parity as you can get between the melee sets.
-
On the same token - tankers not IOd out arent going to have nearly the dmg output a brute will have. Once you IO you can bring both the tanker dmg up - but not to exceed brute dmg usually and brutes up to tanker levels of mitigation but usually wont exceed it.
-
hahaha - reminds me of the Hami griefing with the Kronos Titan
-
Ive pulled 12 to portal Corp before Ive only managed to herd 15 together to survival challenge it on the island.
-
Monster island survival games - how many GMs can you herd to portal Corp. How many GMs can you gather and survive indefinitely to.
-
Can you post it so i can see what your theme - or direction is on it?
-
I have a little experience with brutes and res sets - would you be opposed to humoring a dark dark setup?
-
That largely depends on how and who builds them both. Weighted towards mitigation - the brute does 15-40% more damage depending on the power used and fury level etc, and vice versa is 15-40% weaker depending on which category you are looking at. There is no magic number of x or y but basically a lot of that tanker mitigation you are referring to is overkill - which I for one am a big fan of - but even despite that theres nothing I can think of any of my tanker brute mirrors can't survive equally well. At the same time the brute has a much higher smh cap and can output more dmg than the tanker from 50% fury up - which anyone can achieve sleepwalking.
-
You could go either way with it - with invul if its built right it will be hard to bring a Brute down with or without Incarnate Mitigation tactics - usually i go agility either way with Invul because increased recharge means increased power avail. If you went Melee Core you wouldnt be wrong and still have better damage than the tanker on most things - especially ST. Personally I favor the Tanker here because im a huge fan of overkill when it comes to mitigation... lol But i have a Invul Tanker and an Invul Brute - both are nigh unkillable.
