  1. At one time, I did this with Acrobattle (Staff/Ninj). His Goldside counterpart was Louis Johnson, a member of the resistance (Blaster: DP/and I forget the secondary). Acro is a former Spec Ops who kept some of the experimental tech (staff, "micromesh armor," etc.). He mainly just wants to run is Bakery in KR (called Sweet Eats), but all the crime, man. Louis didn't have much of a BG at all, but figured he was just a harsher, more violent version of Acro.
  2. Arc 1 Design Notes: We return to KR once again (can't stray from my gal for too long).:-) Low level (15-20). Tested with an SS/Invul L26 Tank, outfitted with basic Enhances (mainly DOs-he's a Long Rider toon). A bit dicey with some of the finale bosses (considering his powersets, you can probably guess what his vulnerabilities are). Didn't die, though! (most of this is easy) Namesake toon exemplared down and cruised through it. Mish titles: various leadership and business books. There is no logical reason for this This is planned as a 3-parter. I'll need more slots for that, though. If you've run my previous stuff, you'll recognize some old faces. Have not run on higher settings yet. Will try it with a hardy toon, just to check it out. If you run on such settings, or on a team, I am (as always) interested in critter synergy. Arc 2 Design Notes: Level increase to 25-30 (representing a time gap in the story) Mostly a straight up solo arc, and by that I mean, very few allies (and the ones there are optional). Callbacks, but mainly as part of the narrative. I may have overdone it on a certain set of bad guys (synergistically...maybe...I was running with a L26 tank with no IOs or sets). Every major NPC should have a story, for those who like reading them. I think I finally caught all the typos. I'm not holding my breath. I'm not sure why the mish title is half orange up there. Maybe it's just tipsy. Mish titles: Hamlet. All from the same speech. Though I can't say they necessarily match the missions. Arc 3 Design Notes This one is VERY rough. Feels like all the mishes need a bit of a punch-up. Custom critters from earlier arcs are much tougher than what's here, so I may need to look at that. Used some maps I've never used. I'm iffy on them, at present, but should make interesting runs for any teams. Experimenting with narrative focus, making this a story that is basically being recounted after it happened, while you're playing through it. I think I confused myself a few times with tenses and stuff, but I've rationalized this as due to the nature and state of mind of the person telling it. I DID have a major glitch in M1, where a glowie spawned in an area I could not reach. Only did that once in the test runs, though. Hope it's an outlier. Mish titles are Self-Improvement type books, like the first arc. Minor level bump to piggy-back on Fallout 2. Couldn't justify a major bump, since time passage between 2 and 3 is minimal. Did a lot of reading on epigenetics, which is this theory that lived experience can pass into DNA, and then get "written" into offspring (i.e., the parent passes emotional responses to the child, who might experience them without really knowing where they come from). This functions as a sort of explanation of where all supers come from, as revealed on the last page of text. Only 5 clues. That's weird. For me, anyway. This puts the lid on Mobius and the Wards, as far as I'm concerned. Unless I come up with something that makes sense.:-) Thanks (again) in advance, Crane
  3. By giving you the same settings you can get in the game, I assume? Would settings affect rewards?
  4. Most people are decent, most of the time. Even gamers.:-) In those very rare instances where people do things I just can't understand, I kindly remove myself from the area.
  5. Skyhawke is NOT a bot. I say again…:-)
  6. Sure. But first, what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
  7. Right but where in Talos?
  8. So have I! Here's a graphic representation of the process: *(NOTE: This also applies to Citadel, Synapse, and those 122 kill-alls followed by patrols in every really old legacy mish)
  9. You know, that makes sense. I couldn't figure out why this person couldn't consult a wiki for the most basic questions. NOT REAL! NOT REAL!
  10. My question is, where the hell are they, that they're completely surrounded by 25s? Assuming they're far away from the tram, how the hell did they get out there? And if you can get out there, why wouldn't you be able to come back? Deedee-deedee, deedee-deedee...
  11. Same. I want to use them like a Blaster, but they aren't. That said, avoiding secondary targeted heals is a must for for me, so perhaps running with X/Rad would be a way to go, since I've run Rad Defenders in the past, and actually liked it. I can just lay down RA/AM, then get to other stuff. 'Course, we're talking a debuff set here, really.
  12. Carry On My Wayward son.:-) The compulsion to feedback is often too strong in this one. Which is why I often sigh to myself when I agree to run something and provide it.:-)
  13. Time is actually one thing I sorta got. Summer break for us is the month of July. I'll need a lot of nonsense to occupy my time (and provide me excuses not to continue working on that gd manuscript).
  14. All this time...I had no idea Atlas was Lance Armstrong.
  15. I might just rationalize everything with you are an old man, and deserve to take all the shortcuts you can.:-)
  16. Thanks! I didn’t know that. I’ll keep that in mind next time. I happened to be running through AP last night and found a portal sitting there near City Hall. But I think I might visit RV, just to check this out.
  17. GDIT, ZHYM! He's gonna do it! He's gonna DOOOO IT! (if he does, I'm gonna take that to mean @Zhym wants us ALL to use timers indiscriminately. With big maps. Especially that one with the smoke. And you got 14 rescues. And 10 minutes. [5, if it's a Crane arc]).:-) (actually replied to mention a text bug I had the other day scripting part 1 of a planned 2-parter - clues to 2 bosses did not pop in the test--at ALL. I exited, checked text length. It was fine. Went back in, the text popped. Go figure. Go...and figure. [not sure what, but AE must want me to])
  18. This is Vector Mike... It looks like he has no face, but trust me - he does. And it's smiling. This is Vector Mike's second contact, Susan Davies. Susan is rudely ignoring Vector Mike, probably because he's standing there waving at you and not asking her if she's got any work. She's used to lame lowbies like Mike appearing out of nowhere, asking for something to do. Vector Mike is a WHOLE LEVEL 2! He just worked with a bunch of nice policemen, some not so nice contaminated, then a cool dude in tights named Coyote (Awoooooooo!). Mike stopped an Outbreak! And now, he's off to bigger and better things. Like a lack of $$, slow advancement, a lot of running, and incredible endurance issues. Why? Because Cranebump likes to do stupid things. And this is yet another one of them. ******************************** Soooo, in plain English: was reading crimson's texts about just coming back, and running into issues that have long since passed, like starting money, free cool powers, super fast levelling on the DFB train, and all that jazz. Got me to thinking, "You know, you somehow played without those things and managed. it was painful, but gdit, you MANAGED." "Think you could do it again?" Well, of COURSE I can, but the question is, why would I WANT to. I already told you: Cranebump likes to do dumb things. Or rather, masochistic things. Sometimes. Mainly when no one's looking (or no more than 3), but this time this time, we're going public. So, the deal is this: I'm gonna run this poor lil Archery/Ninja Training toon without giving him any seed $$. Like I'm fresh out the box back in the days of yore, and dragging myself through the game. I am allowing myself to grab athletic run and the jump pack, mainly because my last account on live had Ninja Run and Jump Pack (and I feel stupid using Ninka Run, even if I AM playing a pseudo-ninja). I'll pick up any explore badges I can remember, and collect any merits that go with them (which means I'll grab the AP ones and, if I get lucky enough to get an Ouro [I won't ask for one, but I will dive in when I see one [yeah, yeah...at the wrong level]). But I won't use zone transporter, and I won't bother with a base (because bases were expensive when you were a lone wolf back then). So, it's "sorta" old school. The main thing is no XP buff and using only what I can get on the drop. I'll sell salvage, but will hoard the merits for...well, I'll think of something appropriate. Not sure if anyone else wants to Be Like Mike, but, if you do, hit me up. I'm usually on Friday mornings, and (some) Monday evenings (like tonight). I'm running Mike on Excel, so if I do any updates, I'll likely post them there, rather than muck up General Discussion again (like now...with this novel...). Visualize Whirled Peas, Crane
  19. Who are you, and what have you done with @Zhym?
  20. As has already been explained, you can grab plenty of Inf without Farming, if that's your druthers. Unless you're planning to got all out on IO sets, you won't need much $$ to have a viable toon for most things. I say this having a few mid-level toons who have DOs and SOs slotted. Between that in Inps, they handle regular content fine (well...you DO get the occassional big bad who's troublesome). That said, having gotten used to grabbing those enhancements via seeding, usually by grabbing explore merits from AP and Galaxy (then converting to converters, etc.), I'm not sure how things would work for me anymore, playing on straight-up default XP/drop mode. I have and do run without ever running 2XP on some chars, but those are special cases. So, I'm thinking I may have to revisit default mode - drops only, no LR TP, Mish TP or anything. I'll have to solo it all, of course, just to make it grindier and more obnoxious.:-) Been wanting to make a blappy arrow guy, so this may be the time. CUE FACEPLANT!
  21. Wouldn't this just enhance farms even more?
  22. Little Tommy cannot answer the phone. Half his body is wedged beneath the floor plating.
  23. Bane Spider Ruben
  24. Not sure how we define “work.” All of them do what they’re supposed to do (which includes face planting).
  25. (ahem) May I present The Re-education of Westin Phipps (see below) 🙂 (just pretend he's a hero):-)
