  1. Well, I did say we fight some douche bags in the guise of superheroes. I guess the villains get the rest.:-) (Tbh, I miss States in the active game).
  2. Well, first the amended version of this person's formula: it should be "Max Team + Max Difficulty = Max XP MINUS DEBT MINUS FRUSTRATION LEVEL MINUS DISREGARD FOR YOUR TEAMMATES MINUS LACK OF UNDERSTSANDING THERE'S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LVL 10 AND LVL 50=one craptastic idea. Can't blame you for bailing on that one.
  3. This is a fictional world. There are fictional douche bags in it (some of which we beat up, while being fictional superheroes).
  4. I’d say that’s accurate, insofar as, for some folks “the greater good” is themselves.
  5. Agreed. Outside the nature of actual powers, the origin story is a window into the character's drives, motivations and, er...character, if you will.:-) There's a difference between a scientific accident (blinding you as a child) and your X-Gene kicked in while in high school.
  6. Not necessarily "clever," but memorable: in a Katie Hannon PUG the other day, had a teammate wearing CoT Agony Mage costume who was called (fittingly) Agony Mage. Reflexively flinched every time I saw them.:-)
  7. Good idea. I just reran FL's Nocturne mish, which features sewer map, then you exit into an FL outdoor map to destroy sub, take on the boss.
  8. Yup. I slotted all my KB to KD for my AR/TA main. Much. Better for teams, though I wonder how things would fly sometimes.:-)
  9. Eye of the storm. If you miss, it’s still cool break dancing. I REALLY do not like the big psi-fist thungs.
  10. Not the same sit as Snark, but ran on a story mish team yesterday. Leader was very deliberate about instructions: Stay together. We clear all mobs. Don't enter before everyone's ready. This was consistent throughout all mishes. And it was VERY important we follow to the letter. EX: Two peeps go in before everyone else. Leader: Why are they inside? They come out, apologize for their great sin, etc. etc. On we go. About story mish #3, we're clearing mobs on the parking lot map (so old-school farm grindy...). We knock out what looked like all of it, so I buzz over to the parking lot to examine the upper level, report back. While I'm doing this, the rest of group finds a couple groups we missed. I report about the parking lot: Couple mobs here, then head back to help with the mobs they're on. Leader's reply to my report: I said we were finishing there. I'm thinking, Well, fuck me. Our lord and savior spoke and I missed it. (I'm STILL wishing I had sent that in team chat, but I thought better of it, bc hypocrisy, not worth it, etc.) Stayed with group till mish was done, then bolted. Thing is, I'm pretty sure I've run with this I done tol' you once! mannerless douche bag before. Shame on me for not recognizing you, asshole.:-/
  11. Okay, so just ran this, with @Darmian present (to watch my green bar go eeeee-rrrrr several times). It's a 10 out of 5. Has all the hallmarks of a Darm Arc: lore dive, extensive mission briefs, plenty of clues, great flavor text, and challenging encounters. Bosses were especially tough in some cases (though I ain't sayin' why - you can all get your ass paddled to find out). And it's only part 1! Really, really, really well done (as per the uzh).
  12. Ah. I see. Well, I don't know who is the minority now, but I assumed people don't care much one way or the other, in only because I just haven't seen much discussion/complaint about sound on the boards. I also did not notice any of the sound nerfs, personally. I guess other people did, which is why sounds are the way they are in the game now. I can't imagine it getting switched back if there, indeed, was a great outcry against the stacked sounds, as you more or less wrote there was.
  13. Let's assume I don't want to run your mods (and that I don't run mods, in general), and that I don't really pay much attention to the sound (I do have a volume knob I can use, after all). Let's also assume you're in the minority when it comes to the importance of sound in your game experience. Is it possible to offer a mod that restores the type of sound you want, allowing it to serve said minority, without making everyone else (i.e., the majority) have to DL a mod to not have the stacked sounds? In other words, can we assume most of us are happy with the default mode, and provide a service for those who want more, rather than forcing "more" as a default, and forcing most of us to have to DL your mod?
  14. On the one hand, this tells me everything I need to know. On the other hand, I have no idea what to expect.:-) But, seriously, is this a typical story arc? Or should I be worried by the term Trial in the title? Oh, I'll likely play it, either way. Esp. with this full-page add in the Paragon Times.:-)
  15. Did I not say he couldn't be trusted? HEED THE WARNING, PEOPLE!:-)
  16. I thought the term referred to "riding to someone's rescue" when they they didn't ask for your help in the first place (because you're assuming they're incapable, but I'm the hero of my own story, I don't need to be saved, etc.). Gets a bit confusing at times, because being nice to people used to be just "good manners." Now we're all questioning each other's agendas and intentions.* *Thankfully, the doors at Wal-Mart are automatic, so there's no need to hold them open for anybody.:-)
  17. Jet and Jump Packs fer sure. Plas Tasers for my squishies. I REALLY love stun grenades for my lowbie soloists, but they're a might expensive, relative to everything else.
  18. I'll be taking in a 50. An incarnate. Probably a tank. Because you can't be trusted, you bastard.:-)
  19. Yep. That's usually how I start a new character (though I just do AP and Echo:GC, once someone drops an Ouro portal). If you're just playing basic story arcs into the 30s, as the OP said they did, you should be able to do this same conversion (along with crafting/selling recipes and other valuable salvage [Prismatic Aether, for instance]) all through those levels, and have plenty of $$ to slot SO's/IO's (albeit not so much with sets, attuned or otherwise).
  20. I'm assure what I'm supposed to make of this: Feels like the thread should be called, A collapse in the market may force me to play other games. Which basically makes this a warning to the community that you may be going, and we're supposed to...?
  21. I thought the WW2 stuff was intriguing as well, so much so that I made refs to both the Sand Kings and Storm Korps in a set of AE arcs (namely the Leviathan Series).* *end shameless plug:-)
  22. Recalling the old days when alignment first came out, and wondering if there will ever again be an All Rouge team* *a typo that always makes me grin.
