  1. I just finished the Unity Plague arc from Pasterelli. At the end, you have to deliver it to various contacts. I used SG portals to hope zone to zone, since they often brought me out right next to the delivery contact, or very close to it. Unfortunately, I did not realize at first that this part of the arc spawns ambushes (I was there and gone that quickly). I must therefore apologize to anyone in AP, KR, Sky, etc., who may have run into the L35 DE/Council I may have left in my wake.:-) ((On the other hand, I'm sure Cit, Pos, Yin, etc. handled them just fine) (fingers crossed)
  2. The Fog Minotaur. Our version of the Kobayashi Maru.
  3. Understood, my friend. We'll be waiting!
  4. I didn't think about the Star entry on a clear. Perhaps I should change the label? (and I still don't know exactly where to go next with this story [in a way that's unexpected]).
  5. Heh. Indeed. Of course, seeing as how folks can self-select their level of challenge, via notoriety and self-imposed limitations (EX: no sets, no temp powers, nothing from START vendor, and so on), I feel like this is pretty much covered. I do wish there were more work done on the low end of the spectrum. By that I mean the 10-30 experience.* But that, too, is addressed in a lot of player-created content (that few people play). Fact is, the options are there. The Devs are focusing on where the majority of the population seems to be, which is the higher level content. This is great if your standard approach is to join the uber-build arms race (which seems to be almost mandatory, if you want any sort of satisfactory play at higher levels). That said, there's just tons of content available for those who want a slower approach. As for challenge, this, too, is mostly in the hands of the players. *though, to be fair, we DO have new content in the 20-30 range, EX's Watkins and the new Striga contacts.
  6. Just finished the Nelson arc with a L35 Archery/WP Sent. Those transforming Vamp-Wolf things are tough. A combo of insps, stuns from arrow and cross punch, and some jousting/position and I was able to take them down without much trouble. But they're definitely tougher than in the past. Pretty sure I got teleported next to one of them, which was a shock.
  7. I wish it was blood mixed with gravy.
  8. I'm in the @tidge camp. Unless I'm running my slowplay toon. And spending a mill on Mish TP is a big hit on a guy whose livelihood depends on crafting and selling dropped recipes for $$. On that: My slow play (primarily) solo, pseudo-old school toon collects all the explore badges when he unlocks a new zone (also does radios in each new zone to get the bank mish). With him, I'll tool around to the explore badges as I head toward the mish. Speaking of: Crey's Folly is much larger than I thought (and the purple Freaks employ grey guards on their watchtowers for some reason [handy, if your mish is to defeat 35 Freaks while you're hopping hither and thither).
  9. For a Snarky run I’m guessing really garish, mohair bowling shirts?
  10. I just reread every single post. Not seeing what you’re seeing (unless I REALLY missed something). What I am seeing is disagreement with the OPs assessment of the situation, as well as some advice (and maybe a bit of implied, “buckle up, buttercup”). I would also point out that the OP started with “get your head out of your asses,” which set a certain tone right there. Whatever the case, I’ve seen way worse than what’s here. WAY worse…
  11. They fly around a lot. It’d be something if they attacked.:-)
  12. No worries, TN. No one expects you to plow through everything. What you’ve done already is all good.
  13. After rolling through Protean numerous times, I was shocked last week to find my Sent (who has L25 IO's in virtually everything) couldn't take out Protean by himself. I could get close using insps, but came up short. I asked for help, got a Troller partner who mezzed the guy, and he went down fairly easy. Saved me from having to spend on large insps.
  14. Play a tank. For those times when you leap blindly over a metal container in a warehouse map to land in the middle of a mob. By yourself. On a +3/x8 mish. At L16. (PSSSSsssssssssssssss.....The sound of a squishy making a rookie mistake).
  15. I've made a point of running radios and banks in the main zones as I level up. You get some handy rewards along the way, of course. But I have to say the Bricks Safeguard I just did was awesome. It takes place in Talos. Most of the perps are Arachnos. There's a flier on the ground on the hill overlooking the tram, which is a nice touch (even if it doesn't spawn endless spiders). But the THREE (count 'em -- 3!) purple fliers in the air, buzzing around everywhere, their searchlights skimming the ground all around you, just cranked up the urgency, Even though I was really never any real time pressure, those touches just made the invasion of the zone seem "real." Beyond that, it's just an easy zone to navigate to spot the side mishes. I did all four of them, then exited with 17 mins on the clock. Anyhoo, I did not recall this mish AT ALL. Does it always spawn multiple fliers?
  16. Haven’t run into this yet, since I haven’t solo blastered in a hot minute. What would concern me is if Insps are not helping. Chewing up my tray is a staple when I’m squishy and solo. That said, you can always dial down a tough mish in order to complete it.
  17. I still haven’t played all the current ones. Or not to 50, at least. And I’m very unlikely to ever try a Kheldian or Widow again. What I WOULD like is the ability to purchase some of the temps you get in bank side mishes, like Confiscated Bean Bag or wave scrambler.
  18. Someone's targeting Paragon City's finest. Your job? Find out who. Before it's too late! Particulars: L10-15 Stock enemies. Callbacks from Crane's previous Row stories. Lot of guns and fire.:-) Notes & Spoilers:
  19. I seldom run all the way to 50. When I do, it takes a while. I get to the 30s fast. Then I just sorta…do other things.
  20. Some supergroups recruit live on server, but haven’t seen many. You might want to try the server boards in these forums, or just send out a request the next time you’re on to see who’s recruiting.
  21. I slotted KB to KD on everything for my AR blaster, simply because I team a lot with them and almost everything was going to send targets flaying. That said, I just work around it when I see someone else using it. I’d worry less about build monkeys chattering at you and just play your toon. Unrelated, but I AM in the camp of Fold Space sucks, having seen mobs moved completely out of my targeted location effects. HOWEVER: a tank pulling everything to themselves, after making it clear that’s how they operate, is actually nice to operate behind.
  22. Short ans: Because heroes scared the shit/piss outta them.
  23. One thing about the system I’d use is it is not level-bound. An arc featuring Hellions could have just as much danger as any other. I think the setting can still work. But I can always create an approximation if need be. I can also drop certain elements, like the Well, if I wanted. None of my players plays this game. And only one of them might bother reading any of the wiki.
  24. We're winding up a 3-year fantasy campaign soon, and I've been pondering what to do next. I'd considered continuing with the next iteration of the same game world, which I've already prepped for. However, considering the amount of time I spend on CoH, including scripting AE stuff, it got me to thinking: Why not align my interests? I am therefore thinking seriously about running a lengthy supers campaign my trio of players, using the Sentinels Comics RPG, set in the CoH universe. My questions are: -has anyone done anything similar? -how did it go?
