  1. The way I generally see it is my experience and my actions are the only things I have any sort of control over. So if either side is causing an issue, I just leave the team. If the drama is annoying enough I'll do it mid mission or task force. It's also been my experience that the people complaining about KB generally cause almost all the drama. Unless the KB usage is way the f*** over the top, it's generally not very noticeable at all. I say this as someone that almost never plays as KB characters myself, mainly Scrappers, and my Blasters live in melee almost exclusively.
  2. Yeah they give some sort of standard merit reward, six sounds right.
  3. I don't recall 6 merits ever being a standard for EBs, but I could be wrong here. It's my understanding that the merit rewards for arcs are similar to TFs, average time to complete. Since arcs are frequently done in multiple play sessions, I'm not sure if it is literally time spent in the missions or something else like number of missions, or some sort of mix. And I'm not sure how often old arcs were adjusted after merits were added in the game, so there are likely some outliers there. And as the game got older newer TFs and arcs were generally shorter, so their merit rewards were significantly less even though some of the new stuff is more difficult.
  4. I think people are trying to reason the wrong way here. Sure community and others matters, I don't disagree. But I think people need to ask themselves, what they want? If they want to keep playing here because they enjoy and that is what they want, then following the embargo makes that more likely as NCSoft is less likely to get pissed and just shut this all down. Is it any guarantee? Absolutely not. To me, this decision doesn't require thinking of others or being considerate, it just takes a slightly longer term outlook for one's own wants. So between thinking of others, or only about oneself, to me the most logical step to take is to not post videos or stream HC for the time being. Personally I don't care what a person's motivation here is, because both lead to the same action. edit: I was working and on the phone when I wrote this, please ignore the absolutely terrible sentence structure.
  5. No clue. I could always make more.
  6. You're correct they don't have any legal authority, HC can't send a DMCA take down notice. But they can restrict or ban people from the servers.
  7. I disagree with the suggestion. Unless someone is willing to make a public list of players that insist teammates use the toggle.
  8. Respecs annoy me. Needing to completely rebuild and a reslot a character is extremely annoying and a generally terrible experience. And that's before having to redo 4 power trays.
  9. These days I give away more influence than I spend, but only when it amuses me. Other than that, my influence sits in email until I get around to powerleveling another character.
  10. This is an excellent suggestion, I'm on board.
  11. What I've observed in this thread is people arguing against making the player experience better by eliminating a potentially extremely frustrating pain point. It's sad.
  12. Only issue for me is I don't like bid creeping, it annoys me. Personally I'd be content if there was a buy now button for the salvage for a recipe that bought each piece of salvage for 1 million influence, just so I could I press less buttons.
  13. I frequently both case A and case B
  14. I like the idea but, with three current bug of incorrect last 5 bids happening randomly, I worry such a solution may not be effective.
  15. Are the tears organic and will it ruin the avocados I need for all my toast?
  16. @siolfir I get why you say that, but people are largely incapable of just ignoring online complaints. So they do have a significant impact.
  17. And now there are fewer gatekeepers, people aren't dependent on newspapers or dear abby to give them a voice. Let's not pretend this is somehow unique to any generation, those protesters you speak of didn't have access to the tools we do now. They used what was available to them, and those methods are still used today in addition to the internet. But with the internet, it's harder to ignore. You sound very much get off my lawn with your take, which is fine. So I'm clear, when old people complain about kids these days being too sensitive, I like to point out that it's coming from a generation of people that protested going to Vietnam, yet had no problem sending their kids(my peers) to die in other wars. So to sum up, OK Boomer.
  18. So? Could just anybody get on those and share their thoughts, opinions, and feelings to the world anytime they wanted? I'm not sure how that is relevant to anything I said.
  19. This is wrong. It used to be the internet wasn't as widespread, was less accessible, or didn't exist and therefore people couldn't be heard when something bothered them. The problem you're describing isn't that people are more easily offended, it's that those people now have a voice you can't simply ignore and pretend doesn't exist.
  20. @Jimmy addressed this when it came up in another thread:
  21. This seems to fluctuate wildly. Sometimes I'll see 800 for sale, then the next day there will be like 5-10k for sale. I'm guessing that there are a few people that trade a bunch of merits for converters and dump them on the market whenever they notice supply is low.
  22. I consider most Brutes lower damage powersets. Scrappers4Life!!!!!
  23. I've recently come to the conclusion that this is the only game I'm good at making builds in, even here I consistently poorly account for end usage. Trying to come up with builds in Division 2 and Borderlands 3 and I'm just terrible. Not sure why I'm putting this here, but this seems pointless enough to not start another thread.
  24. This is pretty much where I'm at with Staff too. It works by just spamming the AoE attacks, but at some point I want to be more efficient. And Ninjitsu seems pretty straightforward, similar to SR but with more tricks.
  25. I see a use for enemies like Sappers, even though they don't stick around very long. The only other real reason to keep them around is mobs of all lieutenants and bosses wouldn't take much longer to kill, in general, but would give significantly higher rewards. For salvage and recipe drops I think that would be fine, but I do think all the extra influence would likely have long term negative impact on the economy.
