Discussion: Disabling XP No Longer Increases Influence
MunkiLord replied to Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
My suggestion isn't any kind of solution. My thinking is if all the influence sitting and not being used was suddenly being circulated that prices would go up significantly, even if only for a few months. It would take a concentrated effort for people to actually spend all they can over an extended period of time. So not something that is realistic to attempt. -

I can't say for sure, but I'm going to assume it needs to be turned back on for each character. I know there are at least a few people that turn it off for RP reasons, so I imagine swapping it for them would just cause problems. Plus globally changing settings for everyone can have all kinds of unintended consequences. -

I think a fun experiment would be getting every player that has more than 20 billion to try and spend it all within six weeks. I bet that could have a fun impact on prices. -
Difficulty in CoH: Community Discussion
MunkiLord replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in General Discussion
I get that, I do. But I think it's something some people would just have to accept. Similar to the exemplar influence thing, no hard caps on market prices, the likely eventual Titan Weapons nerf, etc. -

This. Additionally, the developers have access to a lot of data that we don't, and they've demonstrated multiple times over the last year that they do look at the actual data and don't just make these changes for the sake of changes. Now, that doesn't mean they'll always get it right, especially since one of the variables is human behavior. If this change proves to not have the desired impact, I don't think they'll just stick with it as-is for the sake of their egos. Now that doesn't necessarily mean the change would be rolled back, but their past behavior indicates they would address it in some manner. I also think a lot of the blowback from this is many players are very understandably looking at the immediate and short term effects of this, while the developers are taking a more long term view. Often times those two views don't really mesh well, so there is likely to be some initial pain points as people adjust to the new situation. I think over time that this will work out better for the overwhelming majority. -

Is it a coincidence that Nemesis invaded while you were trying to look an error? Or did the developers do that on purpose to cover themselves? After all, everything is a Nemesis plot. -
Not the specific answers you want, but this page is helpful: https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Set_Enhancements_with_Special_Effects

Restrict Judgment powers during regular play.
MunkiLord replied to Darkneblade's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
This has been my experience as well. Which means the same group will often get hit by multiple Judgements at once, Which often means the next one or two spawns is Judgement free. With coordination I'm sure a team could manage a Judgement almost group, but I've never played on a team with that level of planning and coordination. -

Everybody sells the crap sets for more, not just marketers. So those casual players drops are more valuable as a result. Which is a direct benefit of converters. -

"Never spend" isn't a logical or possible condition, of course they spend some of it. But they clearly spend less than they hoard if someone is sitting on tens or hundreds of billions of influence. -

MunkiLord replied to Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
People that have 20, 50, or 300 billion are not spending it all. Especially once you start hitting 50 billion and up. That's just not a realistic amount to spend for all but the most hardcore power levelers. And I don't mean to imply that it solves anything, just that it also helps. -

MunkiLord replied to Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
Ah, this clarification makes sense. I would also like to add in that amassing influence effectively takes it out of the game as well. Unless the people hoarding it give it all away or start spending it, the only impact it has is little more than a scorecard on a spreadsheet. -
How Much to Post for to avoid getting Lowballed?
MunkiLord replied to Generator's topic in The Market
Numina is somewhat intentional on my part. I like craft and convert in batches of 30-150. While the margins are good at the price I post for, they aren’t good enough for me to do it everyday. Also it’s been like six weeks since I actually did Numina, so the price may be higher or lower. -

Now that I have a loud and clicky keyboard I need to put it to use somehow. -
What you're describing is gross. From my observations, the GMs are super quick to act(assuming one is immediately available), and I've also heard that saying something in the help or general portion of the HC Discord can get results.

MunkiLord replied to Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
You're pushing your desires and it will come at the expense of other's personal enjoyment(those that enjoy marketing). How is that any different from what you're accusing marketers of doing? -
I think these numbers are much more reasonable than the initial suggestion if something like this were to happen. We want to start smaller and see the impact before drastically cutting all prices.

MunkiLord replied to Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
Dedicated marketing absolutely outpaces dedicated farming in terms of influence gain, anyone that says otherwise is wrong. But, more people likely farm so it has a bigger impact. Plus the people making tens and hundreds of billions of influence from the market are hoarding most of it. So as far as the economy is concerned that influence doesn't exist because it is out of circulation. By pushing for eliminating marketing you are absolutely attempting to deprive people of their enjoyment of the game simply because you don't enjoy it. -

They are children, not gnomes. So we’re all basically Batman when it comes to child endangerment. Except none of our kids will get Jason Todded. Though I’d be down for a vote..... -
I picked up all the enhancements just now and relisted all 110 for 1 influence each. I spent 1,092,385,071 buying these and after market fees they all sold for 107,919,700 total. For a net profit of - 984,465,371! I'm basically a financial genius. If anyone needs real life fiscal advice, and really hates making money, I'm your man.

MunkiLord replied to Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
As long as XP in AE isn't lowered, I'm good with almost any change. I use it to powerlevel, it's an inefficient way to make influence.
