  1. My biggest problem with this whole thing is not having an overall definition of where sets and ATs should be. If someone wants to make the claim that TW is the worst offender, I'd likely agree. But before I'd agree with the intent to nerf any set or AT, I want an overall standard. So I could then judge what sets/AT could potentially be in the crosshairs next. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this would be some sort of slippery slope in which the devs go on some sort of nerfing spree. But unintended consequences are a real thing. And I certainly wouldn't want a set that I actually care about to be collateral damage. After all Ice/Fire Blasters are soloing Master ITFs(at +4x8), a Fire/something Sentinel did a solo Ms Liberty TF, two Scrappers did Liberty TF, there are multiple outliers. So while TW is probably the worst offender, it's not the only one. I need to know where the line is before I can support any call for nerfs. I've already accepted Scrapper Rage will get nerfed before Super Strength gets ported over, so I can be reasonable about balance. Edit: It's not just damage. Well built SR can make you feel invincible. Plus the ease of perma hasten levels or recharge for SR can help them get Claws top attack chain easier than Fire. Also, I haven't played Claws since I get to level 28 on my Claws/Regen and a week later Instant Healing was changed into a click power. I was a really shitty player back then and putting in all that work to finally get toggle IH for it to be changed was soul crushing lol. I wasn't pissed, just bummed so I moved on to another character.
  2. But it makes it more fun for a sizeable group of players too. Why would we support such changes that would make the game less fun for us?
  3. I get it! I play all of my characters like Scrappers with a bad case of Scrapperlock.
  4. No Maneuvers, tough, and weave will be much more helpful once you hit 50. At the softcap keeping a couple greens on hand will be more than enough the vast majority of the time.
  5. Comparing balance in a game to behaviors that can literally kill people decades early is stupid. Edit: I will say though that people that think kids need two hours of homework every night are busybodies that hate fun.
  6. Lightning Rod (Shield Charge too) doesn't crit since it is a psuedopet. But it does inherit the damage modifier of the AT, so that set will likely always be better on Scrappers and especially Stalkers since it doesn't break hide.
  7. Brutes and their fury mechanic is a lesser version of Scrapperlock. For my tastes the only advantage Brutes have is more taunt auras. Taunt auras can be a significant advantage too, it can keep mobs packed tightly together for powers like Burn.
  8. TW over performs, I'm fine with it. I still don't think it deserves a nerf. People are having fun playing it and it's not breaking the game, so it should be left alone. The mythical future harder content problem can be addressed when and if it actually becomes a problem. Until such time that is a purely made up reason not based in actual reality, but instead complete speculation. If other players get pissy because some TW is destroying mobs on their team, oh well. That's how I feel about the few Brutes complaining about the potential Tanker changes stepping on their toes. And it's how I felt when someone started a thread for Blasters asking them to chill so other people can get a shot off. Oh well.
  9. THIS And Stone Melee
  10. I did that about a week ago! Cost me about 300-400 million before I caught it and cancelled the other bids.
  11. It's super easy mode and good way to make influence. Plus something like that I find rather relaxing as I don't have to really think much on my Spines/Fire Brute. In real world time an efficient farmer is the quickest way to make influence 100 million influence. Playing the market is still more efficient overall since I'm unwilling to farm for eight straight hours, but the profit is as immediate. Plus on a decent computer you can PL an alt to mid 20s, or higher, super quick.
  12. Has anyone looked at that Scrapper DPS spreadsheet thread I linked to earlier? It has really good information in it based on various recharge levels and attack chains at those specific levels of recharge. And it has information on endurance cost to run such chains.
  13. I've find this to be an odd thing to ask in this context. Because the people that are asking for the nerf are doing so because that is what they want. So why not turn it around and ask them to think about the ones that like it as is?
  14. Darkness Control for Doms has two cones.
  15. I disagree. Their criticisms are a response to being judged and letting those people know that their preferences are not special or any better. I'm good with judging people for being judgemental, much in the same way I'm good with being intolerant of intolerance. edit: What Abraxus quoted in the previous comment I deleted to say this instead and the timing just worked out weird. So to clear up any potential confusion, that comment was there, but I decided to go a different direction with my reply as Abraxus was responding.
  16. I'm all for it, good suggestion.

    Archery/?

Musculature would generally be ideal IMO. More damage as a Blaster is awesome. That being said, it will depend on your specific build. If you need more recharge then Agility is excellent. But if you use a lot of procs, Agility could devastate your chance of those firing off because of the additional recharge in each power.
  18. It's my understanding that it can be summed up as a lesser version of War Mace. It's likely a bit more complicated than that, but that is the general sense I get from the conversation around it.
  19. I have one in the early 40s with a bunch of IOs and it is fun and powerful. I don't know if the relative performance is similar on other ATs though.
  20. Here is a Scrapper DPS spreadsheet, excellent information in here:
  21. I can't speak for other ATs, but War Mace is excellent on Scrappers.
  22. What about a custom AV in AE? No attacks, doesn't run, no resists. I'm not sure how the regen and HP of an AV compares to a pylon though. Edit: or maybe a Pylon with extra resists to avoid the regen tick issue with shorter times.
  23. Speaking of enforcing reports, this is my guess as to why HC doesn't have a policy on copyrighted characters. Having a policy and not enforcing it has led to lawsuits from copyright holders in the past. I don't know how successful they were though, so my guess is a literal guess.
  24. In good news though, that desperation is likely why we have the MCU. They had to take a gamble to stay alive and it worked.
  25. Perhaps. But it's my belief the primary reason is at that time Marvel was a failing company desperate for money and saw someone with deep pockets. The lawsuit was always a stretch, but desperate companies take longshots. Those that can't innovate, litigate. Edit: In other words, Marvel was copyright trolling with the NCSoft lawsuit.
