  1. Because that's what the original devs at Paragon Studios decided ... and we still honor their design decisions, even though they're no longer "in charge" of the game ...? Why would we do that? They aren't in charge and no longer run it. Your opening sentence uses the phrase, "In general", so it is implicit that giving players more choice is not always a good thing. As for there being no "good" argument, you should perhaps differentiate between "good" and "what I like". In particular the value of there being separate ATs (and this has been indirectly stated previously in the thread) diminishes when you have multiple which overlap significantly in capabilities, particularly in the case of melee ATs (four of them) where the end goal for a significant portion of players is the solo, melee god. But how exactly is that a bad thing for players that want that? And how is it bad for the players that don't since they can just ignore the options they don't like? You know everybody can see you edited your post? Of course I know people can see I edited my post, that is what I added when I made the edit. You think you caught me in some sort of attempt at a stealth edit? I actually don't care either way about Super Strength and have little to no desire to play the set at all. That's not what I'm arguing for. I don't understand why the fact that some people don't want to play an SS Scrapper means they are for not letting other people play it either. Why can't those of you that don't want to play Super Strength just ignore such an option and be fine with people that do want it, to use it? Edit: edit
  2. In general giving players more options is a good thing. In the context of this game the argument for it is many people will enjoy playing a Super Strength Scrapper. There has been no solid argument as to why limiting player choice in such a manner is a good thing or beneficial to the game. Some people don't want every set on every AT, cool, they can ignore the sets that don't fit into their concepts and themes. It would be a win-win. I don't understand why some people prefer to limit other player's choices.
  3. There is nothing wrong with an Ice/Dark Corruptor. There very well may be some combos that are stronger, but it is completely viable for all content in the game.
  4. I've read up a little bit on the forums here and I've decide on Ice Armor for secondary and either Savage Melee or Street Justice for primary, leaning quite a bit towards Street Justice. Before I start planning this I guess I need to know what powers are skippable in those two primaries? Ice looks like I'll be taking almost everything except maybe Chilling Embrace? Also, what is an ideal single target attack chain for those two primaries? This will be a learning character for me as I'm very much used to Scrapperlock all the time.
  5. Can I ask what makes it a waste for Scrappers? I took it on my Elec/SD, though that's primarily because I wanted Fireball and had room for a power. I never use it for normal mobs since they die so fast, but I throw it on AVs or occasionally a stubborn EB. If it's effectiveness is so slow that it's just a DPD killer, so be it. I'm just curious.
  6. I get why such a thing is annoying, but it really is beyond your control. All you can do is ask someone not to take your bomb and hope they listen. Attempting anything more than that is likely a waste of your time. I know this can be much easier said than done at times, but the best option for your own enjoyment and stress level is to just say f*** it and move on.
  7. That's what I was afraid of. It's purely about aesthetics on that power, which normally doesn't matter much to me. I'll see if I can get over it. If not I'll just reroll. Maybe as Bio or Invul since I've never made one of those.
  8. So it's not enough for you to simply skip some sets, you also want to restrict other people from having the option simply because you don't want it for yourself. That's an extremely selfish view.
  9. Well hey, why don't we just do away with ATs all together and give everyone every powerset both as primary and secondary? Much better option than control freaks dictating to other people how to play, build characters, and forcing their ideas on others.
  10. If SS on Scrappers isn't a good idea because of game mechanics, so be it. But restricting something like that based on what some people perceive as comic or theme appropriate is one of the dumbest things I have ever read. If a person feels that way about a powerset then they can skip taking it, problem solved. If they don't like that someone else made that choice, oh well. Their opinion on another person's powerset choices only has value when and if the other person says so.
  11. According to Kaeladin's DPS sheet, the ideal ST chain is Clobber-Shatter-Jawbreaker-repeat, so I won't be skipping that one. It appears WM has a decent amount of powers for me to take, but that's ok. The only thing I may have trouble fitting in and slotting is Maneuvers. I'll have an initial build sometime in the next day or two, so I'll see then. What are people's opinions on skipping Energy Cloak? It has good defense numbers, but I strongly dislike the look of always being cloaked, so I'm thinking of not taking it when I respec.
  12. I'm not so sure it's the best choice either. When I took it endurance was an issue so it made sense at that time. At this point, I rarely use it at all and may eventually look into one of the others. I like your idea of the heal. Outside of Incarnate content, I don't actually see myself using Destiny very much at all going forward.
  13. My newest Scrapper is a War Mace/Energy Aura and I'm wondering which powers should be skipped. Right now I'm thinking I'll be skipping Bash and Confront from War Mace and Overload in Energy Aura and taking the rest. Any other powers yall deem skippable? Also I'm looking at Mace Beam from the patron powers, and it appears to be extremely powerful, especially if insta snipe active. Am I missing something here or it awesome?
  14. After playing with this a bit yesterday, it's very strong and safe. I forgot KB protection though, so I need to fix that. Question, what would be an ideal ST attack chain for Arch/Temp?
  15. All hail Emperor Cole!
  16. It seems like there would be a better choice, like Rikti with Accelerated Metabolism, or Phantoms with Adrenalin Boost, and both do more Damage than Seers. Carnival is similar with Forge, but the Dark Ring Mistress is better than the Augur. Agreed. Fortitude just doesn't do much for my elec/sd. Someone asked a month or so ago if Seers keep fortitude on the player and since I hadn't thought about what Lore pet I wanted I tried it out to see.
  17. Who is the vendor in Ouro? Looked for it earlier and must have missed it.

Nothing wrong with what I have now, but I could get more damage. Agility Core gives more defense, recharge, and end mod, all three things that are extremely helpful. It's a quick and easy way to get close to soft cap and perma hasten. Pyronic is more damage on top of more damage. I eventually plan on getting Ion for the higher target cap Degenerative means hard targets have less total HP, which I find helpful since bosses, EBs, and AVs are kinda slow with this build. But nothing wrong with getting the one with -regen or -res if you think it will help you more. Ageless is for more recharge and endurance. I don't feel I need more defense so it seemed like the best choice. Seers I took for Fortitude. I'm going to go with something else, don't need Fortitude 99.99% of the time. Melee Total Core I did for the regen and resist, but I'll eventually get Assault too for more damage and perhaps go back and forth between the two. I like more damage. When choosing between the top two I just go with the one that has higher boosts for the stats I want, or I just guess to be honest. I just forgot to update it.
  19. These are all very good builds, likely better than mine, but a lot of the changes don't really fit my style. I went with something a little different. 20. If shield isn't your thing I get that and won't try to talk you out of it, much. But you did shelve it one level before it's defining power could get any slots.
  21. And it's this that makes me sad every time I see something like "lvl 50 Brute looking for AE or farm" in the LFG channel -- you can get your enjoyment from the game how you want, but seeing someone who's powerleveled to 50, and all they're interested in is more farms, is depressing. Thinking about all the content they don't care about because it's not a farm (or don't know about, because all they've ever done in game is farm) reminds me of a line from a novel referring to mining the asteroids for resources: "Out there it's raining soup, and we don't even know about soup bowls." But if endless farming is the only way they know how to play, or what they think is the 'best' way to play, I'll just be disappointed in them and let them go off and do their own thing. But if they are having fun and enjoying themselves, why would that make you sad? If that's all someone does and they are having a good time, then I think being happy for them makes more sense.
  22. I have someone over, so I can't get to all the questions until tonight or maybe tomorrow. But I chose Seers because they provide Fortitude. But after using them for a while I've come to the conclusion that as great as Fortitude is, more damage would benefit me more. Eventually I plan on getting other Lore pets.
  23. This is why a friend and I are discussing and planning on how we can use two Scrappers and duo a Master of Ms Libterty Task Force. Normal content isn't quite boring to me yet, but it's not as fun as trying crazy stuff to push our builds and challenge ourselves.
