  1. Inspired by this thread, a buddy and I are making two Time Defenders to run together to destroy content. I'm Time/Sonic and he is Time/Dual Pistols. Before I put together a build, I'd like some ideas on what we should go for as far as set bonuses and Incarnate abilities are concerned. We're building these assuming that we'll be playing together, which means we'll easily soft cap our defenses and be able to make Hasten perma. We'll still want some global recharge, but defense set bonuses will be a low priority. Do yall think we should try and get some +Damage bonuses, or is there something else we should focus on? What about Incarnate powers? I'm thinking a high DPS choice for Lore is probably best? Since we'll be doing a lot of -res to enemies and AVs, perhaps Musculature for Alpha and Assault for Hybrid? I know Defender damage modifiers are low, but with extreme recharge and -res perhaps the damage boosting Incarnate powers will shine? And with such a combo, what powers do you think are must-haves and which are skippable? Should we slot a few of them with a ton of procs? The eventual goal is a hope for us to be able to complete the STF as a duo, like we did with Scrappers.
  2. The past sounds terrible. The past always sounds terrible by the present standards. To people listening to iPods in 2005, walking around with a big clunky Discman or Walkman seemed laughable. Now we think about having to carry both a cell phone AND an MP3 player in 2005 and it sounds like a chore. I am in no way suggesting that "the good ol' days" are behind us, simply that the current video game market (both what is being made and what a large part of the gamer population is playing) has moved away from the structure that CoH was designed and operating on at the end of 2012. In all fairness, as great as CDs were, walking around with a Discman was always pretty terrible. Couldn't listen to Boyz II Men II without it skipping all the damn time! I also remember when I first wanted a pager that my mom said only drug dealers used pagers. Then I got my driver's license and she changed her mind. Those brain on drugs commercials were funny though.
  3. The past sounds terrible.
  4. How does the proc work on a power like Lightning Rod? It's my understanding that LR is some sort of psuedo-pet, right? Does that mean when the proc goes off when LR is activated that it can benefit from it?
  5. This thread has inspired me. A buddy and I are going to make two Time Defenders to play together. I'm going Sonic and he wants to use Dual Pistols. Now to cobble together some builds and see what we can come up with.
  6. I remember that person! Never understood it.
  7. All solid advice given here so far. If it's big numbers you're looking for, have you considered a Stalker? My first one is five bars away from 50 and it does some stupid high damage.
  8. I'd join any group that would get me the closest thing the world has to the Anti-Life Equation.
  9. For me it's when I can buy a complete build at buy it now prices all at one time. Anything more than that is just bonus.
  10. Stalkers don't get TW Yes. That is how we did our duo STF. I used stole your DM/SD build and tweaked it a little bit and made it on Justin.
  11. Is there any more information on this? I would love to learn about their ideas on how it could work.
  12. Don't apologize, you're being VERY generous in calling my time mediocre! That Elec/SD was my first real build since coming back, and it needs a ton of work to really maximize. I need to move things around to drop Agility Alpha and go Musculature, and when I did that I think I wasn't using Assault Hybrid for some reason I don't understand. I don't expect an Elec/SD Scrapper to put up amazing numbers, but I'm thinking I could easily get a 20-30% improvement over the 171 or so DPS I got the first time. After I finish my Stalker build I think I'm going to revisit my Scrapper build and try this and a solo Master ITF again.
  13. There is nothing wrong with Warshades. In fact people advertising they won't take them on their teams is helpful as I know that's a team to avoid regardless of the AT I'm playing.
  14. This normally isn't something that matters too much to me, but I have found myself caring more about that recently. It's the reason why I have shelved my Energy Aura Scrapper.
  15. I think it was due to a lot of activity over the long weekend. I made a ton of influence the last four or five days because things I've been selling 10-20 a day I was suddenly moving over 100 a day. Plus I bought 15 of those Lucks myself and just paid whatever price I saw displayed because I wanted them immediately, so I'm sure I blew through an extra 60-75 million due to my lack of patience.
  16. Most Scrapper secondaries don't have Taunt auras. Bio does, I think WP does, maybe one or two more. Shield does and I think Invul does as well, not sure if others do or not. Taunt auras have never played a factor for me when deciding whether or not to choose a secondary. The only character of mine I really wish had a taunt aura is my Archery/Temp Blaster because Provoke is terrible.
  17. I ask myself this when talking to customers every single day.
  18. Buddy and I ran two cold defenders together back in the day and it was pretty stupidly powerful.
  19. How does Energy as a secondary look these days? I played it for a little bit right before the PvP changes, so I'm not sure how well it aged. I know back then it was strong compared to a lot of the others.
  20. Also Scrapper forums > all other forums. So there is that.
  21. I would love Stone Melee! I'm hoping to drive to Colorado in September if that counts.
  22. Scrappers have higher base and max hit points, which leads directly to better regen numbers and the ability to absorb more damage overall. And they also generally have more AoE attacks as Assassin's Strike quite frequently replace an AoE attack their sets.
  23. So which secondary offers the best ST melee damage?
  24. Challenge accepted! edit: This does sound like a good challenge. Ok, so what should the rules be? I'm thinking no inspirations, no lore pet, but Alpha and Hybrid are acceptable. Obviously, the focus would need to be melee attacks, so should I limit primary attacks in some way? Some limit on primary attacks seems reasonable, but what is a fair rule for that?
