  1. Why not, Ice blasters get four AND an ae hold on a 90 second timer. Defenders/corrupters also have access to three. Holds are kind of Ice's thing, and replacing one of the two in the set with a friggin sleep was a bad call.
  2. Sleep, at minimum, should prone the target so it has to waste a tiny amount of time standing up.
  3. Nah, you think that because I said something that could be taken as slightly mean, I made no points. You are clearly wrong, but its a common enough debate tactic for everyone to recognize. Flail around on the floor like an NBA player lightly brushed while crying "ad hominem!".
  4. Up the damage a bit, let you toggle on defensive or offensive opportunity at will. Then remove the marking thing entirely, as it's pretty lame to have to micromanage such a small benefit (roughly equivalent to a proc). There, the sentinel balanced and streamlined from an AT perspective. Other changes are needed on a powerset basis. Restore Freeze Ray to a hold instead of a useless sleep. Fix Full Auto. Address Archery's shortcomings. Really, the nukes that have huge status effects and debuffs are in a decent spot, its the few oddball ones that arent great.
  5. No, they really arent. How often do you actually encounter dispersion bubble that having an otherwise nigh useless form of CC is worthwhile? Great, you can solo pull AV's. Boy, that justifies the set being weak in 99.9999% of every other encounter! Given that other sets get stuns on a 90 second cooldown, while Mind has no equivalent, is just sad. It's been a weak set since day one, but the gimp power brigade loves their ugly darlings, so rush out every time people try to make it not crap. Mass Confusion should be on a 120 second recharge, with TK's cost significantly reduced.
  6. I believe you may be the first person to express any positive feelings towards this change. Given that they die more or less instantly though, they really aren't doing a good job of buying you time though. Seems like we could remove the innate taunt, let them accept taunt sets to bring it back up, and call it a day.
  7. Seems like a waste of effort to design a whole set for the three people that want to enhance the sleep "functionality" of electric melee, frozen aura, etc. Mesmerize is the only mind control sleep that takes damage, and it's duration is such that you don't really need to enhance it anyways. Unless they rework sleep as a mechanic, it's basically a useless side effect for most powers.
  8. I'd happily trade Black Hole for Fade or Soul Absorption.
  9. Can we please up Toxic Dart's damage? There's no compelling reason to take it... it's currently worse than options already available to every AT save perhaps controllers. Pool attacks in general need to be evaluated to make them worthy picks at least on par with a basic T2 attack. Tweak the recharge up if need be, but make its DPA worthwhile and useful to slot. Same for basically everything save maybe crosspunch. No one needs a sub 1 second recharge on boxing after slotting it. It has no secondary, cant carry decent procs, cant be used while mezzed for blasters, etc. It was looking like it would be a fun, fluff alternative to other ranged attacks. Now it's just a sub par option for everyone.
  10. Then that seems like a design oversight to me. I don't understand why Corrupters and Blasters should have the same modifer on any debuff, given one is a damage/support hybrid. Other values are different (to-hit debuff, defense debuff, resistance debuff) and follow Defender>Corrupter>Blaster in terms of strength. Slows are also ignored by AT, so it seems defenders/corrupters could be adjusted upwards on those as well.
  11. Since we're fixing things that don't conform to AT modifiers, how about boosting the end drain for Defenders and Corrupters on Electric Blast? They are using Blaster numbers and should be proportionately higher. And no, the Blaster versions aren't too high, so I cannot possibly imagine nerfing a weak secondary down from defender values... I'm fine w the Dark changes. The small loss of healing from dark servant being changed should be offset by the substantially increased accuracy, and the tar patch changes would likely need a parser to even notice.
  12. Set the launch parameters to "-n", then close Tequila. Re-open it and launch Titan Icon. It doesnt work on Live sadly.
  13. Having one power pool attack not be a non-choice isn't a problem though. You don't design a new car with poor performance just because your other cars suck. It's not like Jump Kick or Flurry have feelings that need to be protected if no one picks/slots them. I doubt many are currently. The others should be brought up, but that's not a reason to hamstring this out of the gate. Devs, please restore the damage. If it can replace a few T2's, that honestly seems like it should be a design goal, given the opportunity cost. Thanks.
  14. Well, its roughly 80% of Gloom, making it effectively a non-choice. So yay for the nerfherders I guess.
  15. No it really wasnt. It's a DOT, which is a negative and as a result had higher damage. Did it beat Gloom? If not, then there was no reason to adjust it. Now it doesnt even beat Gloom on a mastermind. There's no secondary effect, no defiance build up, and you lose any combo mechanics. Plus you can't activate it while mezzed. Air Superiority, your supposed baseline, is also a junk power not worth slotting. So I guess they're all consistent in their worthlessness. Devs - please make pool powers worth taking and slotting. There's no reason for them to be DPS losses given the opportunity cost. It deals less than half the DPA of the nemesis staff and blackwand and we get those for free. Animation time is an opportunity cost as well.
  16. So what if it can replace your T2? They SHOULD be able to completely replace a T2! Pool attacks cost slots, a power pick, and a pool choice. Those are significant opportunity costs. If you pay that, the net result should NOT be "worse than what you already could have taken". The original devs didnt even think to take animation time into account. They were so crappy at balance that their DPS calculator was spamming the same attack over and over, without considering an attack chain. What's the worry? That some controllers might solo slightly less pathetically? Stop punishing people for making flavor/fluff choices. There's no good reason to keep the original devs poor design choices.
  17. That's old design from devs that didn't understand basic math. All the pools need their recharge doubled and damage to go up accordingly. I don't need a sub 1 second boxing, I need something that's worth the animation time/slotting. Nerfing the dart to the current pitiful standards will just create another dud power.
  18. Also I think people would object to waiting until level 32! Just got back from a cruise, so looking forward to testing this while stuck at home on quarantine lol.
  19. Poison needs some adjustments. Yes, it eventually gets pretty badass, but basically every set gets badass with enough IO's. I'd love to see the early experience improved before you get 20-30% positional defenses, tough/etc. It's a set that favors melee, but has no self heal or mez protection. The splash AE is pretty small, so it has a really hard time with groups prior to venomous gas. And given that procs are under the nerf microscope, its proc monster ability in poison trap and paralytic poison shouldnt hold it back from other small improvements. Moreover, not everyone uses procs, and SPECIFIC IO slotting isn't a balance mechanism. I'd like to see some kind of minor splash healing, caster included, for Alkaloid. Doesn't have to be amazing, but enough to help offset some splash damage just from being in melee and catching additional AE damage. Increase the AE size on the splash for Envenom/Weaken to 12. This is still 20% smaller than rad's two toggles, but will help early on in group play without requiring herding. Change Neurotoxic Breath from a cone to a targeted AE. This plays better with Venomous Gas requiring melee positioning, and the cone is pretty narrow anyways. Up the recharge if need be, and maybe include some -regen. Its 2.67 second animation could also be reviewed, as that's a long time for something with relatively low impact. Allow Elixer of Life to be used with lesser effect on a living target. I think all ally rez powers need to be evaluated to make them more compelling choices and worth slotting. Howling Twilight, Rebirth, and Defibrilate should be the model.
  20. Hah! I don't see that comparison, given the debuff focus of TA. I'd originally gone with kinetics, but Nature has absorb, heals, end recovery, damage debuff, and damage resistance. Only significant thing Nature is missing is status protection and the +special in amp up. And Nature just seems overall better at doing it. Adding more +special and some recharge would help make it a more offense focused version.
  21. Yeah, this set doesn't do much outside of Faraday Cage, which is admittedly awesome and unique. I think the + damage and +special could go up some. Shock is still particularly unimpressive. However it doesn't need damage, as that would simply make it weirdly better for corrupters as a secondary than defenders as a primary. The new changes are a step in the right direction, but 75% regen debuff is insufficient for anything PVE. AV's will resist this down to about 10%. There is a reason regen debuffs are so massive - thats where they need to be to make a difference in the only fights that they matter in for PVE. This feels like it was designed primarily as a PVP power. Given powers can have different values in PVP, can we get some better PVE utility? Chaining to other targets, applying - special, or better, merging it with Energizing Circuit. Restore the +special to Empowering Circuit. Amp Up needs to be more impressive IMO for a T9 on a 5 minute recharge. Minor end drain added to a single target isn't wowing me. Bug - currently the detailed power info displays a +0% strength to recharge. This set feels like a poor man's Nature outside of Faraday Cage. It focuses too much on things which are lowish value in PVE or whose utility diminishes as builds become more mature (- recovery, single target end drain, filling blue/green bars). This set would likely work OK as a mastermind set, where the squishy lower tier pets greatly benefit from the fast recharging absorb and deal damage to account for you having to spam support powers. It's less good for defenders/corrupters who have to also find time to blast.
  22. I see you aren't interested in putting forth arguments of your own! Harrumph, good day sir. A million points to Hufflepuff!
  23. You basically spent a lot of time and words on the equivalent "Nuh uh". That's not worth engaging with. It's easy to shoot down arguments and say they aren't persuasive, particularly with someone more interested in poking holes in the argument rather than seeing if the core request has any merit. I'm not particularly interested in helping you reliving your LD debate glory years. Ohhh, ad hominim, -5 points! I'm not interested in engaging with the "debate me you coward" crowd on shit that actually matters, because its throwing good effort after bad. COH isnt a hard game. Tanks didnt NEED to be buffed recently. They can get to 50, and find teams. Nuh uh on tank buffs. Snipes functioned, even if they weren't popular. Nuh Uh on fast snipe. You can halve defenders damage and they too, would be "fine". There'd even be plenty of people defending the status quo if someone asked for a buff back to previous levels. One day, I do expect the difficulty to be upped though. It would be nice to have all the sets relatively balanced before that point, so the sonic/sonic defenders, elec/dark blasters, etc arent squashed under the new content baseline. This is why I, at least, am asking for buffs to weak choices/sets despite them being "fine" in terms of hitting 50 and finding teams. I mean, people take door sitters, so does anything really need a buff? Tell ya what. You explain why the powers are compelling picks and don't need a buff. Yeah, yeah, onus on the person asking for the change, but sorry to burst your bubble, this isn't a formal high school debate, so I don't care about whatever arbitrary rules you decide on. But you're clearly a master of debate, so take the challenge. Convince us they don't need a change, particularly a chance already made for a new AT.
  24. So it sounds like pretty much nothing would convince you they need a buff. Gotcha.
  25. I was having the same issue, then noticed that the manifest in the drop down under the "PLAY" button was swapped off of "patch.savecoh.com/manifest.xml". Re-selecting that fixed the problem for me.
