  1. Sounds like a sync issue. Make sure both monitors support the resolution and refresh rate COH is driving in game.
  2. Ideal NCSoft would Licence the servers/IP at a low base cost plus 10% of gross revenue from all sources. Homecoming and others could charge $2.99 a month or $30 a year and everyone would be happy including NCSoft getting some income on an otherwise dead IP. Potentially Ad revenue could pay for everything - 100000 subscribers is not a small amount. I'd be worried about any form of income that doesn't look like a straight up donation making NCSoft more concerned. Any donation that get's a concession, is also very risky (that's one of the many reasons Paramount went after Star Trek fan productions).
  3. Electron Volts "Shocking New Menace Robs Bank. Again." The headline was attention getting, but lost a little power with the bad pun. In smaller type the story noted that 'Electron Volts' had robbed another bank and was still at large. The Rogue Island police are warning that the villain appeared to be armed with electrified fists and should be considered extremely dangerous. Within one of the many scattered caves of the isles a small, unimposing male Asian tossed down the newspaper with a lopsided grin. As he looked out over the surf he spent a moment thinking about where to spend some of his newly acquired wealth. Dreaming about fast cars and a beautiful person on his arm helped keep away the dark dream of the night before. The bad dreams were always hovering on the edge of his consciousness. He had tried many medications (legal and not-so-much), meditation techniques, and even black magic to drive them from his mind. All his attempts had been to no avail. Sleep remained his true enemy. The dreams always started the same. A mysterious figure in a plain white lab coat, his face covered with a mask, looking uninterestedly on as Ramsmei twitched and shrieked in pain. A powerful hum fills the room as giant capacitors and transformers store up and discharge unimaginable voltages into his always hurting body. The only words spoken are "More electron volts" as dials are turned up and the pain increases. Ramsmei had been born a happy child into a large family. His family were citizens of beautiful Cambodia. A county with lush vegetation and time honed Buddhist traditions. His family was moderately prosperous and included many siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins by the score. It wasn't until decades later Raksmei Loun even knew the name, "Khmer Rouge," and the reason his parents sold everything; all that they owned. His wise father and loving mother had gathered the family. All of it. Brother, sister, cousin, aunt and uncle. Bribes were placed and finally the captain of a tramp cargo ship was found who was willing, for a very steep price, to take them all to America. The family planed to seek political asylum. The captain was a small time hustler with a different plan. He was one of those petty souls who believed the world owed him prosperity and hadn't paid up yet. The kind of soulless person who really would sell his mother for the right price. The Loun family would not learn until it was far too late that the man they trusted for their salvation had already sold them all into slavery the day they boarded his ship. In the Rogue Isles many things the rest of the world finds disgusting and abhorrent are legal and even flourish. Slavery is almost mild compared to what is allowed to take place under the rule of Arachnos and Lord Recluse. Drugged just before arrival in the States, the Loun family woke up in one of Aracnos' secret labs. A brilliant but twisted mind ran the lab. The term "sadistic mad scientist" isn't really adequate. With the sole exception of Raksmei, the Loun family was condemned to a painful existence as one of the 'infected': those poor individuals who have been experimented on and dumped in a shanty town to fend for themselves with their genetic damage and mutations. Raksmei has no clue what the twisted chemicals and viral vectors with a genetic payload were supposed to accomplish. The sadist in charge may have only been testing their toxicity to humans, or how much pain they could inflict. Whatever the goal might have been, in Raksmei's personal genome something evolved. He developed unprecedented abilities to generate, control and discharge electricity. At first it was only a spark or two, like petting a cat on a dry winter day. That was enough to get him noticed for further experimentation. He was kept in an insulated cell by night, but at least for the first time in years he was getting almost decent food. They wanted to keep test subject echo-echo-four-one-niner alive. Day time was a decent into the red haze of pain. Strapped to a table, hooked up to generators and transformers designed to power a small factory, always hearing "More Electron Volts.' The generators powering Ramsmei's pain and suffering had a finite limit. Day after day, body wracked in pain, he slowly learned to channel and even hold energy within himself. After months of intense torture and pain Ramsmei had learned to smell the voltage and see the amps. A new Synesthesiac perception had developed and electricity had become his life's blood. Reversing the direction of the current and forcing megawatts of energy into equipment designed to give punishment rather than take it, Ramsmei overloaded the test machinery then took his revenge on the staff at the laboratory. Upon the discarded newspaper a back page story was now showing. The Rogue Island Police were seeking any witnesses to a bizarre accident. A Captain John Smith, retired from running a small cargo ship around the orient, had been a resident of Cap Au Diablo these past five years. His body had been found on the docs last night with massive electrical burns on a bench that was far from any active power lines or equipment.
  4. For Boy Thunder: Lightning Strikes Ripping evil doers Asunder Ta dum, Ta dum Here comes the Storm Here comes the Thunder Ta dum, Ta dum Fighting crime Like a Boy Wonder Ta dum, Ta dum
  5. When the LLC / 501C3/4 matter is resolved, I am wondering if: Back in the day for a while Paragon sold in game advertising space to real world companies. Some people very vocally didnt like it so they stopped. Can we look at going forward with this again as a way to support the servers and perhaps even pay for upgrades?
  6. You could play in windowed mode and stretch it across both monitors. I used the NV Surround a bit on 3 monitors and it can at times be touchy.
  7. /bind f "pow_exec_name fly" /bind lshift "pow_exec_name teleport" /macro Nova "powexec_name Bright Nova$$goto_tray 9" /macro Nova "powexec_name White Dwarf$$goto_tray 8" /macro human "powexec_toggleoff Bright Nova$$powexec_toggleoff White Dwarf$$goto_tray 1 Those are my big hacks of the moment.... will add a super speeder in a bit.
  8. I've only remade 10 or so - so far. Have a few new ones too.
  9. Make sure the monitor is set to only 100% on windows scaling. It can get wonky at anything else. There is a fix tasty works for drive ppl. If that doesn't do it please post.
  10. Played live from issue 1 and was online when the plug was pulled. :( Had a presence on Virtue, Justice, and Infinity along with one of the new ones they made near the end whose name I have forgotten. I have been and am an officer in other games. I like to play out the story lines solo or small group. Do radio/paper teams, 2-8 players. I like doing TFs and other group content. Only had 3 50s on the old servers, fire/storm controller (truly power overwhelming), PB (tri-form tank-n-blast with emergency heals) and red side a 50 MM Bots/ff. Lots of fun. And about a million lvl 30 to 40 of all types. Hi, my name is Zep and I am an altoholic. Thanks, Zep
  11. The mob is in fact turning invisible like it used to do, however, on going damage (char, ring of fire, fire cages, and/or hot feet) are still showing the damage scrolling up from the mob making them pretty easy to find.
  12. I can, and will, thank you just for trying. I appreciate it and I am sure others will as well.
  13. Thank you so much for fixing this!!!!!!!!
  14. I survived the move - we wont discuss what Uhual did to me that resulted in me now having to go back ind get the last 10 boxes or do on another date.
  15. Foo - am I going to have to camp the site to donate? TAKE my money, please! Looking forward to being able to set up a monthly recurring charge.
  16. I truly and completely detest beyond all the ability of the american-English dialect to express how vile, repugnant and revolted I am by the whole pack - move - unpack process. All that said a bright, shining, glorious, 5 minutes was had when I found the spot I had stashed the little metal archetype Pins, the light up Hero Star, the plastic (sized like a credit card or ID) Con badge and the other nick-knacks. Had to share here because no one else would understand. :) Night all
  17. Torchbearer / Atlas
  18. I see the Alpha slot as very powerful when used to counter act a weak point of the specific AT. EG Fire/Storm Controllers are total END hogs. They can run out of end on speed boost (or at least I have) and the Alpha slot largely resolves that. It also helps to respec after you max out the Alpha and build around it.
  19. It is a nice idea, however - we have a lot of costume slots, can make our bluejeans and t-shirt, no cape no aura costume, use self control or swap bars to do the same thing. I am glad to see I am not the only one who has. :)
  20. I see very small things in game -- LF 2 more for TF NO WARSHADES ALLOWED type stuff. Where I see the cyanide is in the forums - again a minority, they just get more attention and have an easy time spreading vitriol. The COH community as a whole has always been helpful, friendly and considerate. We all just need to remember that the best way to deal with trolls is to not feed them as you are not able to reason, compromise, or find middle ground at all. Hungry trolls move on.
  21. Or else what? I dont get what your saying? You imply a threat I dont see.
  22. for partial or full time?
  23. /storm controllers (or fire tollers that took bonfire) are probably the only controllers not happy with the change. Still, it will fix so much of the frustration with AOE immob, especially in the hands of new controllers. As someone who’s still learning the basics on my private server, I’m amazed at all of these updates. /signed I use firecages to hold mobs in place while I tornado / lightning storm / bonfire etc. Or, well, I used to. I can see removing it from the single target, as it is with firecages the -kb is(was) a much shorter duration then the immob. This allowed firecages to really help nail mobs down and keep them in place for nuking. Or was the change just for the single target immob?
  24. Omg! Awesome work. Thank you all!
  25. I like the idea of a common BACKUP server that could also be used for character transfer between comparable COH worlds. Someone would prob hack it and cause problems though :(
