  1. I like colors
  2. that's not very sure..
  3. does that account for fury? or defiance? timewarp.. anyway.. The numbers below have surely been adjusted since 2012, yes? Damage Scale by Archetype The following table shows the melee and ranged damage scales for each archetype. Heroes Archetype Melee Range Blaster 1.000 1.125 Controller 0.550 0.550 Defender 0.550 0.650 Scrapper 1.125 0.500 Tanker 0.800 0.500 Peacebringer 0.850 0.800 Bright Nova N/A 1.200 White Dwarf 1.000 N/A Warshade 0.850 0.800 Dark Nova N/A 1.200 Black Dwarf 1.000 N/A Pet 1.000 0.800 Villains Archetype Melee Range Corruptor 0.750 0.750 Dominator 1.050 0.950 Mastermind 0.550 0.550 Henchman 1 0.450 0.350 Henchman 2 0.550 0.450 Henchman 3 0.650 0.550 Brute 0.750 0.500 Stalker 1.000 0.600 Arachnos Soldier 1.000 1.000 Arachnos Widow 1.000 1.000 Pet 1.000 0.800 The Damage Scale (also referred to as damage scalar) is a form of comparing attacks across archetypes (usually at level 50). There is no actual game mechanic that makes use of the damage scales, but they are used in the assignment of damage values for powers. Damage scales are expressed as multipliers relative to Blaster melee damage, with Blaster melee being expressed as 1.000. For example, if a Blaster uses a melee attack (1.000) and does 50.0 damage, a Brute using the same melee attack (0.750) would do 37.5 (50.0 * 0.750) damage. Notes: While the melee archetypes are assigned ranged damage scales, these scales are never used. Ranged attacks on melee archetypes use the melee damage scale. Temporary Powers use normalized scales that result in the same damage output regardless of which archetype is using them.
  4. Is it possible something inadvertently fixed that which was previously broken?
  5. it's like you have some sort of wizardry..
  6. They are all 'optional'
  7. @grimreaper12k more points of view the better. "Listening is key to understanding." -someone smart than I
  8. Three people in a DFB last night were saying the same. I didn't notice (I also was not using 2xp).
  9. @PopZeCherry @Bopin Welcome! Get in there and make some mistakes (there really are not any awful mistakes even if it feels like it at the time) remember - advice is usually worth what you paid for it. and - the character creator is highly addictive.
  10. reading the actual descriptions is probably the other half..
  11. WAH I totally thought those were just for infamy.. =(
  12. to try something different. tri form is definitely different.
  13. @Luminara I get that. Definitely some room for coaching them up. I see potential room for helping new players overall not just this one case.
  14. oh my.. seems to be a good bit of piling on. Note that the original poster plays the game with their kid and is likely not super hardcore. (I looked at some previous posts) I would invite some of those with particularly harsh replies to re-read the original post. Understand that the post could represent the impression folks get on what to do or how to play when joining this incarnation of CoX. If one solely had this forum and whatever the reddthing is as sources of information.. it's easy to see how farming to 50 and finding one's self broke, running high level missions that their character can't survive. That just doesn't sound fun. Not everyone is adept at diving into the numbers, searching the forums, wading through hype, or leaning on years of experience in CoX. Kudos to those who are, and to those who excel at this game, you are special.
  15. those may just be for story arcs.
  16. I resemble that remark on many characters.. which are not short on funds. = ) I think what happens to a lot of new folks is they race to 50 skipping a lot of the game (willingly or inadvertently, and not earning much infamy or merits in the process). Then when they look to outfit their character based on the information they are able to piece together, some enhancements for that build could be 20M-30M. Dozens of IOs x 15M avg is a lot.
  17. Recharge is the key. Avoiding slow animation attacks is a pro tip (credit @Sarrateearlier in the thread). Boost that regen % however possible. These are nice to haves: If there is a way to avoid getting hit (-to hit, stuns, knockdown) that will help. If there is a way to soften blows (resist) that can help. Sprinkle in some 'pay attention' and a regen is ready to go toe to toe with just about anything.
  18. What was 'Silent'? Wild guess was an anti spam tool for lowbies. Kudos to the whole team for the work being put in! 💜
  19. @MasThoven17 I think I can help a little. I truly sympathize with your experience. It definitely seems like you have had some experience with the game previously. A couple quick questions first: Regarding #1 Money: How long did it take you to go from 0-50 most recently? Regarding #2 Non-Farm AE Maps: Do you have the same experience in current strike forces, say Lord Recluse Strike Force? Regarding #3 Buying IO sets: We can definitely help here. Regarding #4 Learning curve for IOs and Incarnates: I agree it is a steep learning curve.
  20. I closed the chat window zoned into the tunnel and then back to Atlas Park. Jumped to Atlas. The only red spike was zoning.
  21. @Tahquitz This seemed to go away. now it's been back for a couple days. Others in game asking if there is lag for the last day or so. It seems when there is a heavy graphics load (movement, zoning) the spikes show up (which makes little sense related to ping) The yellow followed by red below is zoning into the tunnel from Atlas Park. The other red spikes occurred running from Atlas to the Tunnel entrance. not moving while doing black market on my main running around Mercy jumping over the giant wall into town. then zoning to base portals and then to Atlas Park big spikes and rubberbanding trying to get to Atlas. new computer with updated drivers.. NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti i5-9400F 4.1GHz 8GB AV off
