  1. And yet another post where you claim you don't want to feel special, but then outline how you're upset because you can't feel special. OK dude, whatever works for you. You're welcome for the donation suggestion, btw. Not everyone can see true fabulousness. It's a truly special gift that works in mysterious ways. Just nod, tip the hat, and move on. Dude, it's not a competition. Chill out.
  2. Apparently it is, at least for you. Because you somehow feel cheated and not-special if you can't donate. As long as they get the money they need it doesn't matter if you personally (or anyone for that matter) gets to donate or not. If you're really insistent upon giving money away, take the money you would have donated and give it to a worthwhile charity who needs it. Dude, it's not a competition. Chill out.

  4. OK, DFB XP with the boost is better, but still not right. Prior to the reduction one run with no XP boosts would get you from 2 to 7. With a 100% XP boost from 2 to 10. Now with 100% XP boost it's 2 to 8. Better than no buff, better than when it was broken, but still not what it was before the post level 10 reduction. Something is still amiss.
  5. To hit and ACC are calculated very differently. To hit buffs directly add to your base to-hit %, where ACC is a multiplicative modifier. Removing one or the other would create a fair amount of chaos in the game, making some foes absolutely impossible to hit and others ridiculously easy. It would also play havoc with the way defense works. The entire game would need to be rebalanced.
  6. In one hand, this is easily solvable by making Aim and Build Up trigger the "in combat" flag. On the other, if you use Aim+BU with a slow snipe it really should hit like a truck. While the Aim text says it "slightly" increases damage, it actually increases damage by +62.5%, which is definitely not "slightly". Question is, do you ever use the slow snipe? If not, try the Fast Snipe proc in there and see how that "feels". And remember that Aim is not just ToHit. Personally I think allowing Aim and BU to trigger the in-combat flag is a very bad idea. I'm not against giving snipes some extra utility, but not at the expense of their intended purpose and most common use.
  7. My experience suggest this isn't working as intended. Prior to the patch I could go from level 1 to 10 using a +100% XP Booster in a single run. I just tried this on a new character and came out shy of level 7 (6.84-ish). Even when the shard XP was at +50% XP I got to 8 in a single run. Unless my memory is completely shot or I missed something, XP is reduced below level 10. I pointed out that XP boosters currently break DFB XP a few pages ago, and it was confirmed by Leandro. He will fix it in the next patch.
  8. The only people losing their minds are guys like you who are falling all over themselves trying to prove this change was a good idea. And only winding up proving just the opposite. I mean, you're doing the work for us. I really do not need to say much else at this point.
  9. It’s quite telling when people who are happy with the change because it serves them make those who disagree with them out to idiots who don’t deserve to have opinions. It all goes back to the underlying root of the issue. It’s posts like yours that show that you believe only your point of view is valid and anyone who does not agree with you should not be taken seriously. This game is not the same as the live version. A nerf did happen that affects a portion of the player base negatively. It’s not a matter of who deserves what. It’s a matter of people believing others viewpoints don’t matter. If the nerf was so small as you put it, then why did it need to happen in the first place? I’m not saying the devs don’t think people’s opinions matter. None of my comments concerning the whys and the wherefores are directed to them honestly. They did what they did for their own reasons whether they be petty or good. I do express disappointment with the change, but it isn’t enough for me to not want to play or not appreciate the devs hard work. I do however have a problem with other players who feel that any view that does not fit in with their own is not a worthwhile view and then proceed to belittle said players. I’m sorry, but THAT’S just a ridiculous opinion that doesn’t need to be taken seriously. (Last sentence is sarcastic in tone in case that is missed). And it all keeps circling back to the same tired old base: you either play they way I think you should play or you can leave. Considering all the damage that was done to the game by Emmert following this mantra I really thought this time around things would be very different. Clearly I was mistaken. I can't wait until changes are made that they don't like. Cause I love a good schadenfreude sandwich, don't you?
  10. You can pretend you chose to do it all you want, but this post shows exactly why it was needed: people were tolerating doing something they found tedious or boring or annoying only because it was the most efficient way to earn XP. That is an issue!!! You can argue leveling in this game is too slow, that it should somehow be sped up across all content, but doing the same tedious content over and over (anything becomes tedious once it’s repeated to no end) hurts the game, as people that can’t endure it but feel that’s the way to do things just quit. Personally, I would like to see some other ways that are more varied to earn xp. Bigger mission and arc complete bonuses, maybe PvP match experience, TF xp, badge XP, monster hunter XP. But having just one content be ridiculously better than the rest is bad for everyone in the long run. Sooo...the correct way to fix content that is boring and monotonous is to...wait for it...make it MORE boring and monotonous? Got it. Seriously, are you guys done making our point for us yet?
  11. Not WAI. Looks like I need to modify the class definition tables to allow the kExperienceGain attribute to go over +100%, that was the default cap. I missed this because I only tested above level 10, since it was supposed to be unchanged until then. Assuming that's the problem, fix will be on the next patch. Thanks Leandro for looking into it.
  12. DFB XP is currently broken if using the XP boosters. You actually wind up getting less XP than without. Delete the booster and play without them.
  13. Why do they have to justify a damn thing to you or anyone else? Play on the server or don't, it really is just that simple. This last line also shows me a great deal. This game is no longer run by the original development team and there is no reason, at all, to follow anything they did at this point. In point of fact, the original team made some _terrible_ choices from any objective PoV. This code is now it's own entity to be toyed with as this team chooses. Will they do things you don't like? Obviously. You have the power to not encounter anything this team, or any of the the others putting up servers, changes to the game. Not a single team needs to justify anything they do with any of these servers to anyone. The entire idea that these people are ours to command and dictate to is simply erroneous. You can still get your SOs just fine from DFB, you simply have to run a couple more to hit 22, that's what I'll do anyway. But this entire idea that any of these people have to justify anything to any of us is BS, IMO. One ad hominem attack after another, and still can't provide a single coherent point as to why this nerf was needed. My work here is done. And no, I won't get off your lawn. Make me.
  14. Vertical sync ensures you don't see screen tearing. It doesn't ensure you get a constant 60 fps. So seeing 30 fps is normal.
  15. Nope, won't cause any problems.
  16. I recall you being a fun, engaging poster years ago, assuming it's the same person. I hope that will continue, but your posts on this subject make me consider that might not happen. No one is forcing you to do a damn thing. If such a minor change like this at this 'stage of the game' really upsets you, then the changes that will surely get implemented, now that the retail entitiy does not have to be fed, the modding based on the vocal players might just blow your mind in over the next year. Seriously. Anyone throwing shade, getting upset, whatever term you like, over such an actual minor change, is going to be in for one hell of a ride, IMO. Change averse players need to just run thier own servers, IMO. Yes, I'm the same guy. I have no problem with change when it's rational and clearly needed. Change for the sake of change, or because someone has an agenda, is rarely ever good change. Such is the case here. DFB didn't need to be changed. It was fine the way it was. XP naturally trailed off once you passed 20, which made it tedious to continue to do. With double XP one could easily get to 22 within an hour or so and in a position of having a nice selection of powers and ready to move into more enjoyable content. Nerfing it makes no sense, and accomplishes nothing. Not a single poster in favor of the change has provided even one legitimate reason why it needed to be changed, and no, "I hate seeing DFB in LFG chat" doesn't count. It's not going to get people to start slogging thru low level TFs that take 2+ hours. It's not going to get people to slog thru low level story content where you're lucky to get half a level of XP in an hour of spending more time running from one end of King's Row to the other than you do fighting. All it's going to do is push people into doing 5-10 more runs of DFB than they had to do yesterday, and all for absolutely NO GOOD REASON. DFB requests in LFG chat aren't going to lessen. The ability to find people to team with in KR and SC isn't going to increase. People choose the path of least resistance, which in this case will be to continue playing DFB until they get to 22, exactly as they did before. The only thing that will change is that it will now take more runs, and more time to get there than it did yesterday. This is not a change worth supporting, as it solves no problem, and accomplishes nothing. And if the nerf is as minor as you claim, then why bother doing it all? Just leave it as it was. Don't fix what isn't broken. The original devs put DFB into the game for a reason -- as a fast lane to SOs for those that choose to take it.
  17. The DFB nerf is foolish at best and highly counterproductive at worst. Now it'll just be level 1s looking to get PL'd in PI/Grandville farms, in exchange for giving the mission owner any good drops (recpie/salvage). The XP rates available from that (remember double xp weekends on live servers where people would PL from 1 to 50? I do. So that's just your P2W +100% xp buff "anytime") are similar to way over DFB's depending on the relative "efficiency" of the two teams. The advantages of DFB are huge and being overlooked compared to the other content: * A group of low levels can do it, without begging/selling their soulsdrops. * It actively encourages actual participation as opposed to piking at the door -- you help, the run is faster, your xp/min goes up. * All ATs meaningfully contribute (mostly because when you're limited to level 10, everybody sucks equally). * It teaches people to use some of the tools (building a team, queueing to lfg, etc) of the game. * It lowers the cost of experimentation ("would I like this powerset/at combo? Let's get it to 22, do it up with SOs, and see!") and so players will be more willing to experiment. ** * Its relatively short content so you can drop in and drop out when you have 15 minutes as opposed to, "oh yep another 1.5 hour task force. That's excellent, but I have a family these days so I guess I'll just go play... something else." * When high levels drop in because they only have 15, newbies can ask questions and learn something. This x1000. All nerfing DFB is going to do is push new players into other PL situations where they will not actually have to engage the content and learn how the game works. As for those saying "Yay, it's nerfed, now I don't have to run it anymore", guess what? No one was forcing you to run it at all. You always had the option to get to 22 by other means if you chose. Now no one has the option. Ah, so you're assuming all new players only pl? In essence, you validated the reason for the improvements, because if all new players only hAve one option, powerleveling, then there's an issue DFB wasn't meant to make all other content trivial, which it did now, it's fixed. When you find a game bug, they don't Nerf bugs, the fix them. This was fixed Not what I said. F for reading comprehension fail.
  18. (emphasis mine) Of course you still have the option. DfB hasn't been removed from the game, the rewards are just lessened at higher levels. And up until about level 17 or so aren't even nerfed by all that much. You can absolutely continue to run DfB until level 22 if you wish. It just won't be the absolute, 100% most efficient method of gaining XP any more. Which completely misses all and addresses none of the points made. No, we no longer have the option of getting to level 22 as quickly as we could yesterday via DFB, which makes doing it beyond lvl 15 or so pointless. We tolerated the monotony because it was fast and efficient. Now that it's no longer efficient we are forced to slog to 22 via the other ways we CHOSE NOT to use but now have no other option. Doing DFB was always a choice. No one was ever forced into the speedy lane. But we have certainly been forced out of it.

  20. Middle mouse button.
  21. Excellent! Glad it's working. I can't really say for sure as I'm not familiar with the game code. I do know this is a known problem with these Intel drivers under Windows 10, in regard to the way the OS queries the driver as to the version of OpenGL installed.
  22. What did you set FOV to? Maybe try a smaller #
  23. ALT+Enter will put you back into windowed mode. Alternatively go back into the registry and set the resolution to 1920x1080.
  24. No, the game doesn't use score.exe anymore. Are you sure you entered ig4icd32.dll as a parameter? EDIT: Perhaps since you have the HD 4000 the driver name is different. Look in Windows\SysWOW64 for igXicd32.dll, where X is a number. That's the name of the file you should use. Also remember to click Install under the file menu.
  25. Graphics options are stored in the registry, under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cryptic\CoH The two keys are screenx and screeny respectively. You can try changing them there, see if it sticks. There is an FOV option in-game, but you'll also find settings for it in the registry as well. Set autoFOV to 0 and fieldOfView to whatever number you like.
