  1. Ah yes, I misunderstood. This is definitely the case.
  2. I don't think XP and INF are scaled based on damage, and haven't been for a long while (if it ever was). You can be on a team and do no damage at all and still get the same XP/INF as everyone else (adjusted for level). If it was scaled at one time it must have been pretty early on in the game. I honestly can't seem to remember one way or the other. I do remember the tagging thing tho, vaguely, cause kill stealing was a big issue in the beginning. I also remember all kinds of issues with things like the original Nemesis Staff, and how the person that clicked the glowie was the one who got the staff even if it wasn't their mission. I also seem to remember they went thru a few different failed attempts to make it fair and equitable before settling on having it given as a completion reward to the mission owner. I also want to say that at one time whomever got the killing blow was the one to receive the associated enhancement or inspiration drop, tho I'm feeling a bit vague on this one too. It's scratching at my brain, but all pretty hazy after 20 years. Pretty sure that was one of the big issues with the rampant kill stealing.
  3. I want to give Gunn the benefit of the doubt, and I hope all my fears are unfounded, but things aren't looking so good from what he's revealed so far.
  4. Titles are done by the powers trainers, like Ms. Liberty.
  5. Which is why I said "main heroes", because we don't know who's in The Authority or Creature Commandos, and I don't consider Amanda Waller or the Amazons "heroes". With all the changes, retcons, and reboots DC's been making I have no idea what Nubia's current origin is, so no idea if she exists during the Paradise Lost timeframe. Unless the story is told in flashbacks (I really cannot see Gal returning to do this show in any capacity) we certainly won't see Wonder Woman, as she didn't yet exist (tho it's possible Diana might appear as an infant/child at some point). I think it's also safe to assume at least some of that show is going to take place before they get to Themyscira, so we'll likely see plenty of men, including Herakles and Zeus, at least in the beginning. But yeah, there should be at least *some* racial diversity among the Amazons like there was in the movies. But even with all that considered this first slate of projects is still overwhelmingly straight, white, and male.
  6. Your client (the COH software you run on your computer) constantly sends information about where your character is, what they're doing, their current status, names, titles, etc. to the server, which then has to send that info to all other player's clients in your vicinity. As more players enter the area the amount of data the server has to process starts to increase exponentially, as data is constantly being received and relayed to and from every nearby client. In an effort to reduce lag and rubberbanding the client is programmed to wait for server data before it renders the next video frame to ensure all info is up-to-date and everyone is where they're supposed to be. As the amount of data the server needs to send increases the longer the client has to wait for the next update, so frame rate begins to drop. You also have to remember the networking code was first written in 2003/2004, when half the population was still using dial-up, so I would guess the server itself is capped as to how much data it can send out at any given time to ensure it worked well even on dial-up connections. Since the limitation is due to how much data the server has to process, increasing your processing and rendering power on the client side isn't going to help much, which is why we still see frame rate drops in high population centers like Ms. Liberty, during invasions, and Mothership/Hami raids even though our CPUs and GPUs are orders of magnitude faster than what was available from 2004-2012.
  7. The Flash movie was always meant to be Flashpoint, as a way of finally jettisoning the Snyderverse and rebooting whichever characters they decided needed to be, like Batman, Superman, and probably Wonder Woman. This was decided long before Gunn and Safran came in.
  8. Yeah, so... No Wonder Woman for at least the next 4 years. So much for being one of their "diamond" characters. Bonus points for turning the peaceful altruistic Amazons into vicious brutal scheming murderous twunts like what was on Game of Thrones. But hey, 3 Bat-verse and 2 Super-verse movies! So. yay? 🤬 Also, other than John Stewart and Supergirl his entire slate of main heroes are straight white men. So much for any kind of progressive diversity like Marvel. Hugely disappointed. I expected so much more from Gunn.
  9. I have no idea. I would think there must be a way, but it's beyond my skill and knowledge level.
  10. Oh I know why it was changed. Still, I think it was cool and wouldn't mind having it as an option.
  11. I seem to have missed it. I feel so lonely and left out.
  12. OK, so it wasn't a fever dream. Now we just have to figure out if the code is still out there somewhere. I assume animations are part of the client, not server-side, so do we need to dig up an old copy of the game client (which I'm sure I have somewhere, as I have all the original game boxes)?
  13. I mentioned this to a few people I used to play with back on live and they looked at me like I had four heads and was speaking Swahili. But I distinctly remember there being a lightning kick animation (ala Chun-Li) on Thunder Kick. It got changed at some point fairly early on in the game. When power animation customization came around I was hoping it was going to be available as an option but wasn't. Does anyone else remember this or do I need more drugs? And if I am remembering things correctly, does anyone know if the animation is still somewhere in the game code, just waiting to be found and resurrected? Or is it gone forever?
  14. It's a server-side issue. The more people on-screen the lower your framerate will be, no matter how fast your CPU or GPU.
  15. I use the sound mod "Loud Glowie". 2 things tho, because it's louder it can sometimes be difficult to tell exactly where it's coming from. I mean, it does get louder as you get closer, but there seems to be a threshold where it won't get any louder within X number of feet, and sometimes you gotta hunt for it. Second thing, although it's louder you don't hear it from a greater distance. So if the normal effect can't be heard unless you're within 30 feet, neither can the boosted one. But overall I think it's an improvement. If you want to use your own sound file, name it "objective_loop.ogg" and put it in the "Homecoming\data\sound\ogg\frontend" folder
  16. Don't worry about builds at level 19, you'll be in your mid 30s before you know it, and that's when you start to see if there are any holes in your build that need plugging. With IOs sets having such a high price tag most of my characters stick with generic IOs. Some get a few global IOs here and there if they need it (+defense, +health/regen/recovery, +KB protection, KB2KD, LotG, etc). I find the whole process of building a top-tier character to be expensive, time consuming, and exhaustive work. Always best to do those builds on the test server first, just to make sure you really like the end result before putting in all the resources to do it on live. I assume I'm going to do at least 2-3 respecs on every character over the course of their career (and almost always one at level 50). You take a power you think is gonna work well and it doesn't. You go into a particular pool and then wonder "why the hell did I do this?" There can be powers you needed at lower levels that get supplanted by better ones at higher levels, so no reason to keep them. Or even something as simple as changing your travel power. What you think you're gonna need at level 19 can be very different from what you think that character needs at level 35, and again at level 50.
  17. Leafy Devouring Earth are resistant to smashing damage while crystalline DE take extra damage from smashing. Ghosts are also resistant to smashing damage.
  18. Footstomp with a MAG 100 knockback and a 10 second recharge.
  19. Clear the room. And if that doesn't work, then it's a clear all. There are way too many missions that are vague in exactly what you need to do.
  20. I don't have any gameplay issues using 22.11.2 (the latest for my card), I'm just missing the shadows. Otherwise the game plays fine for me.
  21. When you forget to level up before respeccing, the respec code gets angry and starts cussing at you. 🤷
  22. Probably not something the Homecoming devs can fix, but I figured I'd report it anyway in case others notice the problem. Adrenaline driver versions 22.7.1 and higher have the new OpenGL optimizations but most character shadows in CoH are missing. Reverting to a driver previous to 22.7.1 resolves the problem. I also reported this to AMD but it's probably unlikely they're gonna put in a fix for a 20 year old game.
  23. In a nutshell, as someone said earlier, Regen is a set designed for a game that no longer exists. It was nerfed to hell in issue 5, before both ED and IOs, and hasn't changed much since.
